Hi, can someone help me with textures ? I have no idea what to do, I think I did almost everything, nvidia settings, windows settings, high priority, settings in game, reinstall game and temp folder. I tried with 32-bit and 64-bit versions, nothing works. It's so annoying cause i can't load maps especially boss maps and kingshill, sometimes i need to do few restarts game, check how it looks:[IMG][IMG]

I'm going to assume for now that you're a new player. Apologies if that's not the case.

The game stores its data in your %temp% folder. It's possible that Windows or an optimization utility is frequently emptying that folder, causing the game to have to frequently reload all of the data.

It's also possible that you aren't waiting long enough for the game to fully load the dataset before you hit the start button on the mini-client. When you start up the client and enter your login credentials, is the client showing a loading status bar at the bottom of the window? Even though it says after a minimum amount has loaded and you may start the game, wait until the bar is 100% full and disappears before entering the game.

It's also possible that your connection to the server is slow (on your end, on their end, or anything in between). Have you done a tracert to see if that's the issue?

Mods and other readers will also suggest you disable your anti-virus app, especially if you're running a 3rd party app.

If you're not a new player and the game used to run for you, did you ever turn on the connection speed indicator in the user interface? I get speeds around 150ms connecting from the US to one of the German servers, and that's adequate, but were you nearing or topping 200ms?

I have same delay, what server are you playing on? Heredur? I think that the server is already full of informations, players, items, quests and all kinds..........
I also noticed: the textures are reloading, slower

Okay, we can try with first one, but u need to tell me how to stop windows who emptying my temp folder. Next.. I can wait 5-10 mins and it doesn't load. I downloaded full bar, so it's not this, internet connection is not problem, my friends have a wayy worse but they don't have that problem, I don't have anti-virus, few years ago drakensang works for me but I changed windows 7 on actual 10 and it happened ... textures won't load, yesterday I changed drakensang priority in system on high and it help a little bit, before i couldn't load on map every single time, after it I can run 5-10+ maps without that problem, but still it sometimes happen.
Grimmag server, I think it's not problem with server, I check it and few people had same problem as me but i didn't see they fix it

maybe the game security doesn't recognize you anymore? if the last time you played on windows 7 and now you have 10, as in my case, in about 4 years I had windows 7,8 and now 10, and I changed ISP 6 months ago

Windows 10 & 11 have a feature called Storage Sense. That can automatically delete files from %temp%.

Got to Settings-->System-->Storage .... you'll find an option to turn Storage Sense on or off there, plus some other configuration options which may be blowing away your DSO files.

Are you 100% sure that Windows is cleaning your %temp%\DSOClient automatically? Because it shouldn't, unless your disk is running out of space.

Indeed I have Storage Sense active and, although the cleaning of temporary files option is active as well, temp folder is untouched and DSOClient folder is over 2.7 Gb (I back it up and restore it every time I update the system or change my computer). Despite this, the game lags so badly with every restart.

The first entry into the city is almost always accompanied by a white screen lasting almost a minute, which slowly composes the various textures here and there until they are completed. Then the more I re-enter the city, the faster the game is able to complete the screen and become responsive. Similarly, the first entry in any combat map can be a pain, and sludges always seem to be the last to appear when running for bloodchests.

After a couple entrances in the same map, the textures are finally shown all together, but an unresponsive white/color/black screen always remains for several seconds once the loading screen disappears. Really annoyingly, since the game is already doing its job "in background", then the countdown starts in the case of bloodchests, and I get killed in maps where enemies attack immediately, such as Dragan's Great Hall.

And the next day the usual agony starts over and over (I hardly ever feel like logging in more than once a day). There seem to be some big problem accessing cached data, almost like if it had an expiration date of a few hours or so on. In particular the export_win32_db_static.db4.unc file, which is the largest one, seems to recreate itself continuously.

I don't know, something is definitely wrong, otherwise there wouldn't be so many disgruntled users. Then if the cause is only in the game or if it is a combination of factors and parameters that also involve the user's hardware/software/network systems, the developers should clarify it for us. But after so many years of reports of the same problem, without any solution being followed, one can only conclude that they have no idea either.

I play on Heredur server, but I have now impression that they put us on a secondary server number 2,3,4 which is at another place of the world, and that can be cause of this delay 30-60 sec on each enter map

how is the operating system, especially the processor, the game is 95% flash, the most important thing is the processor, there is also something else, during a big event, people gather in one place, pull packages from the server, textures, animations, npc's, rideable pets and many others in this situation there is a possibility that it was not your turn to receive the relevant packages (and with a weak processor), that is why this wait occurs, the same is the case with the slow loading of the maps, when 500 people enter the same place, there is a delay, which leads to a loss on the packages from the server and from there error code 36, and on BP I think they need a new generation server ;)

Will you ever fix this problem on the server where I play Heredur?

I have already been writing about this problem for 5 months: both at support and on the forum
