Anyone know how the +damage reduction works for the drakan pauldron?
Does the damage reduction kick in after shield block?
    example: 100damage - 50 (shield) then -25 (pauldron) = 25 damage received
    or more like 100damage - shield +pauldron (same tiem)= ~40+damage received

    thanks

All damage reduction on your character is factored into one number - the % number you see on your character sheet when you put your mouse pointer on it. You MUST block in order for damage reduction to come into play (a different percentage chance - the one above reduction). If you block, you will block MORE if your damage reduction percentage is higher. But that is all academic - you probably knew all that.

Basically, your second example is what happens. All damage reduction bonuses on your character are factored simultaneously into one reduction percentage when you block an attack. Obviously, having a higher chance to block makes this happen more often.

    I hope this was helpful.
