    It has already happened in the past. They change the items needed to access the events, so that no one takes advantage of the remnants from past editions.

    I think that's a pearl for "Castle Ravencaw (hard)", which is removed as a specific dungeon since a few editions, and since even more editions it hadn't required that pearl to enter.

    As shown above, the "empowered cursed pearls" for dragan still work :)
