Keyboard settings problem

Since yesterday afternoon, after a new download of the client i cannot use anymore some letters to change the settings. For example, before yesterday i used "r" button in place of 7 but now i face this message: "this key cannot be assigned a function as it is already being used for a non-configurable function". How can i solve this problem?
edit. the same is happening to some friends (all of them with r button)

 

Unfortunately you can't. For whatever reasons the default bindings have changed a bit with 207. I first noticed this on TS (I used to use R also; instead of tab to swap r-clk.) I also used to swap pots keys but now one of them is default to D. Fortunately those can still be changed to what I used in the past.

It does make me curious though as to what R is going to be used for in the future.

You can change key to action bindings by editing %TEMP%\DSOClient\settings.xml file. I recommend to backup the file before doing any changes.

thank you. i found the file and found the reason: r will be second health pot, u will be second skill resource (mana), z autoplay. I don't know if it existed already before, but now in the setting file it is like this. it is impossible to change this file, at least for me




edit. i got to change it. i opened that file with blocknote and changed the R in the quickhealthpot2 with another one (i put T) and selected R in the quickslot7. i hope it would be helpful for anyone else

 

Your "settings" file has been deleted probably ... next time keep a copy of the file as a back up

 

I think the fault is of win10 that makes me download the client something like every week. Anyway thank you for the advise: i'll keep it

I just wonder why they had to add those stupid new Keys, anyway your trick worked wonderfully (because before the R207 I never had the useless "QuickHealth2" key.

 

hi there... been a few weeks since I played due to school work and stuff.... anyways, I downloaded the new patch and soon after start fixing my costume keybinds, when I get a message that I can not use the 'r' key because it is been used on an "unconfigurable setting"
to which I think to myself: this must be a bug, because when you press 'r' ingame nothing happends...
since I don't normally write on forums I have no idea where to post this, so if any forum mod sees this just place it in the right place please

Hi, I do have the same problem... has anyone any ideas on how to stop this (downloading the client every so often) from happening?
I mean: why there are game files even stored in a temporal folder within windows? should'nt all game files be in the game folder?
