    Atlanteans

    ______________________________________________________________________

    Description

Experts in close-range combat. The Atlanteans can ask Favors from Oceanus, the God of the Sea and enhance their combat skills and rally allied warriors from the depths of Atlantis to aid them in battle. These ocean dwellers can turn the tide of any battle in their favor.
    ______________________________________________________________________

    Background

The Atlanteans were the founding citizens of the empire of Atlantis. Fervent devotees to Oceanus, they’ve been at war for thousands of years trying to free themselves and their allies from the Titan, Gorga and restore the full glory of Atlantis. They traditionally fought with spears and halberds, melee weapons that can make a quick work in a distance against the evil that plagued their fallen empire.

The empire of Atlantis houses various races of the ocean world from Atlanteans, to Zorlobbs, Jabbaxx, Mermans and Mermaids to local fauna and flora. With the fall of Atlantis, the races of the empire split asunder. The Mermans and Mermaids fled from the empire; the Zorlobbs and the Jabaxx were enslaved by corrupted Atlanteans, the Gorgons; and those left behind in the surface world transformed into Shadaiqans.

When the brave surface heroes of Dracania reunited Atlantis to the world, these ocean dwellers seeks to rekindle the might of the world’s first empire.

    Role

Atlanteans specializes in close-combat and assumes the offensive tank role. Its ability to enhance its combat prowess and summon aid in battle multiplies its damage output. It can overwhelm and distract enemies with sheer number of its summons.

Its skills and talents provides the Atlanteans a flexible build depending on the preferred play-style. An Atlantean can have a “Summoner build”, using its summoning skills and utilizing talents to overwhelm enemies with sheer numbers or have a “Gladiator build” that focuses enhancing their own combat prowess and utilizing stun skills to control enemy movements.

    • Summoner Build – wields two-handed halberds and utilizes summoning skills, like a Ranger. Focuses on increasing the combat prowess of their summons.
    • Gladiator Build – wields one-handed spears and prefers to use its immunity and damage-reflecting skills combined with stun skills to control enemy movement. The build mirrors a Dragonknight.

    It really holds water.

Well, why the damn not? We deperately (as in: they should think about doing it as soon as they fix some of the worst bugs and fix pvp) need more playable classes (as well as content).

+1 from me. It's detailed, but it's not up for theoretical discussion. Gazing through the skills, it looks ok. It'd take it being made and tested in practice to tell if it's balanced etc. Art Department is good enough to make all the icons and animations.

Aside of this, some jester (bard type) class would make sense too. As of now, SWs are the bards: dwarfs and Q7 rangers hit harder than them, they're wanted in groups for their supportive skills like the vortex.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

It's highly unlikely to have a non-human class in this universe anyway but it's worth-noting we need another heavy class. If you don't me asking, what would bards do? Beat the hell out of Mortis with a lute? I would love to see that.

I'm impressed by how detailed your idea is. It's by far the most elaborate post I've seen on this board in a long time, if not ever.

A class that uses spears and summons would be awesome.

I'm not going to dispute any minor details regarding % values and particular skills, because I have no idea how strong the class would be in actual gameplay. Let's say if something doesn't work well, it can always be changed and refined.

Now, seeing how much of a good job you've done with this, more classes began popping up in my mind hehe.

Like for example a rogue like class from the vast deserts of Qaizah, using 2 scimitars or curved daggers, prince of persia style, excelling at fast movement and att.speed, capable of instantly switch location with each attack; perhaps also being able to inflict debuffs like bleeding, temporary blindness making enemies miss their attacks, ...

Or a monk/shaman class, a cat human that lives in Yaltepetl in the jungles of Lor'tac, using a staff to hit enemies and cast mostly supportive/healing spells. If one handed, they could use claws or claw extending gloves.

Bards could play their lutes and enchant all the minions called by the Boss to make them fight on our side:)

Healer should be the Priest of the Order though. What you're proposing could also be a good addition, just with less focus on healing, less on magical combat, and more on physical combat and buffs.

    Especially useful on Mortis :)

It'd be cool to have a Khajiit kind of class, though :3 Especially as there already are cat people in Yaltepetl. What role would fit them the best? Some sort of a hunter? but rangers are technically hunters :/

If we ever get to have a Khajit hero in dracania, he/she better have FNIS spells.

    Khalys won't last a second.

    Would make SW's MC obsolete.
