the quest hasn't been touched since its creation. The quest doesn't count as "killed" the main worm every time you defeat him, but only the last one, as he actually dies.

You can kill the other guardian rarity worms tho, and each one of them count as a kill for the quest, so its not actually 5 per run, but much more than that!

 

I finished the Vent bars in bloodbath and yet the Enemies quest of the Depths marks 106 worms kill
