Spellweaver level 40 pvp talent explosion a bit OP

    Hello, I'm sure you all noticed it is nearly impossible to survive the explosion of a level 40 pvp mage going off with 1000% of their base damage.. what is up with that i see a ton of mages just blow up and hit anywhere from 8k-30k on me and my resistance is 30% and 55% armor..this is so unfair because dragon knight and ranger explosion is decent and kills you sometimes.

    On the other hand mage explosion is almost a certain death..1000% is way to much imagine dks doing that or rangers doing the same thing it would be a blood bath its i could do my base damage 900x1000% that's a lot of damage then the tables would surely be turned.

    I'm not asking for a complete nerf they can keep a strong explosion but make it reasonable and survivable maybe 250% or 300% that is about the same as a meteor and meteor is one of their two strongest attacks that can kill a lot of people that seems a lot more fair than a 1000% explosion that always gets them to the top on the list on just explosion damage a lot of mages get damage and low armor and just suicide..that flaw in the game is exploited every day in 5v5.

    Just put yourself in my shoes i have decent armor and resistance and 8.3k hp yet how frustrated i get when a mage blows up and hits me 28k.. so event if my hp were ever that high i could not survive it that is just ridiculous..

    but it is way too strong no other attack or skill in the game comes close to 1000% damage its just too much i think.

    Lol, are you sure someone hit you that high? 30k damage is a bit too much for that kind of armor. Last time I noticed I hit a 17k, on a SW with crappy gears that was still lv40's range, the time I had about 1k damage. I'd sure like to know what kind of sw managed to pull that off.
    Also, you totally overlooked the fact that armor blocks the damage taken from explosion, and there is something called shields to avoid it if you die that fast. But some rangers would want to use quiver instead just to boast about the huge damage they can do with it. ;)

    The exploding is indeed good if you ever manage to get good damage, but it has a big flaw - the 5 sec delay- with a huge electric shock like animation you can know as a warning sign that lets you easily walk away laughing after killing the sw.
    What to do? don't be a hero and grab the flag AFTER killing the sw or just wear a shield.

    Talking about who exploits what in pvp I'm pretty sure I keep watching rangers exploiting the Survival instincts talent. They just wait till its activated on reaching low hp then just use potion and run off happily with the awesome 50% travel speed and immunity for 4 seconds - with an additional travel speed given to them by the gears and fame tree. They should totally "nerf" either that or the precision shot dealing 5k - 7k damage leading to 1-2 shot kills.

    Sounds stupid? As I said before constructive critisism is welcome but hating on other classes is not, specially when you're killing them with 2 shots yourself. Put yourself in others shoes first and think about it again whats fair and what is not.

    If you can see the warning signs you can "walk away", you are right. But there are a lot situations in which the warning sign is not displayed because of the bugged display engine of DSO. Especially if you move into the "detonation area" after the SW has been killed you usually see nothing but then suddenly get the damage.

    Actually the explosion is completely worthless compared to cyanite shield. After you die, the explosion does not go off immediately which gives enough time for avoiding it.
    Each time you kill an ardent knight or higher check if he/she explodes so you can just walk away after you kill them again. If you do this, the skill is completely useless because that which cannot hit you, cannot kill you. It is by far the easiest skill to avoid due to long delay between death and explosion. Even a person on an overdose of heavy sedatives has sufficient reflexes to avoid the explosion.

    That definitely happened to me before, turned out I was lagging to see such graphics. Again if its a bug, the bug itself should be fixed don't you think. There's no point in destroying a talent because people can't notice it sometimes due to a bug or lag.

    I don't think that this bug can or will be fixed soon as it is - from my perspective - a general problem of the used game & display engine. It occurs every time some action happens (that takes some time) out of your visible area. During the actions runs you enter the area where you should see something but you will not see anything because you are too late.

    The SW explosion is only one example. This applies also to the range attack of Gorga (sometimes you see the attack but only after you already got the damage), the area attack of Khalys, the Bee attack of Bearach (happened to me very often during the last winter event) - very nice to be one-hitted by invisible bees you can only hear!

    I assume that this is not the complete list...

    The animation is usually not displayed if you walk into the area after the mage has died. What I would suggest instead of that animation is a blue writing on the ground. Those inscriptions that appear after Meteor or Lighntning Strike is used. That way you see it before you walk into it. I barely ever see anyone die from explosion unless they were unaware that an explosion-mage died there. So the OP should suggest better animation that actually appears to warn you instead of a huge nerf. The Cyanite Shield already makes the explosion a bad choice. Making explosion do little damage would leave mages with no choice but to pick Cyanite Shield. (although most players believe it is the better choice, not all agree)

    Besides, it is only the P2P mages that hit so high and it is only the P2P rangers that hit 5k-7k Precision. My Mage can't do that damage... I can't 1-shot anyone who is not a squishy nub such as myself so I never use that. Only those with super damage get to do so. :\ My ranger barely hits 1500 marked precision on players his own rank and level. So 5k is wayyyy off limits for me.

    Noup.
    I use explosion, since I play only 5v5 and it can be useful there, but anyone can avoid it, and DKs usually just ignore it since it can't kill them.. Truth to be said, it's a pretty bad talent, but I use it because I was always dreaming about having it + sometimes it murders the whole group in their base leaving person with a flag to walk away safely :rolleyes:

    and is that fair? in battles 5v5 it is not that easy to walk away from the supernova, and damige of abaut 9.000 is just to much..

    hunters have 2x damige with bad efects
    sw have 2x critics with huge damige
    dk .... well dk have ..well they die to fast..and its verry hard to land 1 hit, stuns are usless, armor is usless, life is only good for giving more fame poins to the killer.
    try it to believe it.

    It would be too much if people couldn't easily escape.. and they can.
    And, good DK decides the battle - they don't die and when they make a kill they restore more hp than the damage taken in 5 mins xD Also, bad tank decides the battle - they die and no flag and we lose. :rolleyes:

    i dont say it shoud be easy to escape..only the damige is to high.
    dk have alot of life and armor..why do they die verry fast?
    is it becouse of 2x damige armor penetration of hunter or 2x critics with the near 2x bass damige of sw?
    i find it verry dificult to kill a hunter and sw with them tanking me..im always stuned and with bad efectcs..and i just cant seem to stun them..
    is it not true that the worrior shoud be better in close combat? i do not care if hunter or sw have more damige but the defence of the worrior in "pvp" is not working properly.. and ther must be a balence in the to types os play styles short and long where i se no balence for the short range class..they are not threat in close combat or long combat..
    im talking abaout good players vs good players and well equiped chars for both sides.
    its seems to me that a mediocore hunter or sw is equal to a top worrior and a top hunter or sw is supreem with only hunter and sw beeing balenced.

    Now, I don't know what kind of DKs you meet in arena, but I meet the ones who get 1,5k - 3k hp back when they kill someone.. I had a funny situation with one of those; he heals 3k when kills someone, I hit him 500 with fireball... Poor me shoots 5 mins, some noob comes across his way, he kills him 1hit and booom all my work for nothing, he just stood in our base to murder everything xD p.s. I explode 800-1,5k to this guy. Those are the DKs I'm talking about.. ;)

    that's why rangers and dks have high armor and hp. So think twice before killing the squishy ones :)

    Death explosions are the most annoying and frustrating thing about PvP in the game in my opinion. Not helped by the bugs people pointed out in the thread already.

    Probably the most annoying in 3v3.
