While playing the game, sometimes within a short time, sometimes after hours, my computer suddenly freezes and everything becomes inoperable. The only way to get out of this situation is to reset the computer by pressing the power button. I have sent messages to the support team many times, but none of them can help, they always offer the same solution suggestions to everyone (check your connection, delete the game and reinstall etc.)

There is no problem in other games, I play EDIT for hours in ultra graphics, but I don't have any problems, I only have this problem in this game.

All my updates are done, I reinstalled the OS (W11), the BIOS is up to date, I tested the hardware one by one.

    My System:

Graphic Card > Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 5700 XT
    Processor > AMD Ryzen 5 3600
RAM: Crucial Ballistix 1x8 GB 3000 mhz
Motherboard: Asus TUF B450 Pro Gaming
    SSD: ADATA XPG 256 GB
HDD: WD Black 3.5 1 TB

Windows 11 and Ryzen combination.. some users have issues
    https://www.techradar.com/news/windows-11-bug-is-randomly-freezing-pcs-with-amd-cpus

Next thing - maybe your ram causing issues, why u have only 8gb? 16-32 gb is optimal ram size in these days for pc gaming. And why your ram specs 3000 Mhz ? , when Amd Ryzen 3600 Cpu support 3200 Mhz Ram and motherboard even higher frequency (OC).

Or maybe something wrong in bios dram settings...

Just use google and u find more answers :)

I bought the computer 3 years ago, since then I have not needed to upgrade the RAM. It seems a little unreasonable to me to have problems with DSO while having no problems with much more advanced games due to RAM :)

I also tried to OC the RAM, but I encountered the same problem.

When your pc becomes totally unresponsive always using the same game/software, the reason could be literally any. For sure your hw specs are more than appropriate, you might play this game with 4Gb only and have no issue at all.

You could try anything, such as turning off all kinds of antivirus and firewall (including those built into Windows) before starting Drakensang, but that would be trying in the dark.

Try to open the Event Viewer, then look under the categories Windows Logs -> Applications and Windows Logs -> System for any issue corresponding to the date and time when you had the computer freezes. In case you see any, try googling in order to solve it by yourself and/or post here the related Event IDs and error messages.

    -----

Edit: you can also try to have a gaming session after having performed the clean boot of your system and see if the issue still occurs during it.

My advice to have more ram in pc are mostly for other more demanding games... :p I don't know that u gaming on ultra.. i can't play latest titles without recent pc hw.
Then DSO systems requirements on Steam:

    • RECOMMENDED:
      • OS: Windows 7+
      • Processor: Dual core from Intel or AMD at 2.8 GHz
      • Memory: 8 GB RAM
      • Graphics: Nvidia GTX 460 / Radeon HD 7800 or better
      • DirectX: Version 10
      • Network: Broadband Internet connection
      • Storage: 2 GB available space
P.S. maybe all ok on new and almost empty Harold server ... ,but strange to see same CPU both in min and recommended system requirements. (for minimum maybe ok)

With more ram your have more smooth system, less performance issues overall . And single channel of ram - bad choice , your losing performance . Dual-channel is always better.( two sticks of ram).

Not sure is Ram here causing problems, but are ok non standard ram speed? (3000mhz vs 3200), maybe ok , but who knows. Just strange and suspicious.

You can troubleshoot ram by lowering speed too ,then oc not always good idea (if possible ,test pc with other ram, video card). Try reset bios to default /optimal values, change ram xmp profiles ..etc
Other players have similar spec as you and can play the game :
    https://board-en.drakensang.com/threads/brown-screen.86753/.
So blame only game for causing problems not very correct. Something wrong on yours side i think. Sure, strange if the after fresh windows installed, you not have positive changes ..maybe that not software related.
Are you tested pc with stress testing software such as Prime 95 or Aida64? No problems? Other games maybe more optimized and using less cpu power , but DSO is heavy on cpu.
Too many things can cause problems...
That can be CPU ,PSU , software .. etc.

In my opinion, the problem is the accumulation of dust on the processor cooling fan which causes the temperatures to rise a lot.

    ps: sorry for my english
