I've been unable to log in to DSO, so I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it on my computer. Well I managed the uninstalled part, but when I try to re-download it, I get a prompt to log in, and trying to log in gets me... well, the screen above. And yes, I've tried to "manage exclusions" for malwarebytes, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything.

    What's my next step here?

Have you updated the security certificates. If that's not the reason, I can't think of anything else besides disabling malwarebytes temporarily just to dl the installer. Just make sure you're dl'ing from the official site.

You could also try asking on their Discord channel since it's more active. I recently had issues contacting support until I figured out I needed to disable the "Disconnect" plugin because it was blocking it.

Since the end of December 2024, some of the players are experiencing errors when starting the game, due to a certain issue that affects the Certificate Signing process for the game client. That is due to a technical issue from our operation system.
If you come across errors saying ‘Failed to verify the signature of a downloaded file!’ and ‘Error 35’. Please follow the instructions below in order to fix the issue:
    1. Uninstall the game from your system (make sure you closed all the client instances before). Preferably, use the game Uninstaller, usually located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Drakensang Online.
    2. Delete the DSOClient folder from the Temp folder. To locate it, press Win + R, type %temp% and press enter, then delete the DSOClient folder.
    3. Make sure to delete the DSOClient folder from the Recycle Bin, too.
    4. Follow the instructions in this provided link to manually download and install the certificates.
    5. Download and install the game from the Official Website.
We are actively resolving this issue, thank you for your patience and understanding!

Did the "turn MB off and on" thing, managed to download the app, but when I try to open it I get this:

I have no idea what it's talking about, my network connection is working fine for everything else

edit: had to turn off MB again to get it running, specifically "web protection", which blocks "online scams, phishing sites, and sites containing ransomeware", is there something I should know, DSO?

From the image it seems that there is still some program or some setting that blocks the game from connecting to the server.

Check all the programs/applications that are installed at the moment, if there are any others I mean, and that may somehow block the connection to the server.

Have you already tried to get Malware Bytes off autoboot along with the operating system?

Is the game just spinning a Wheel O' Errors here? Now it's back to "login button doesn't work"

After all this, at this point I would do the following:
    1. uninstall malwarebytes and erase all that is left of malwarebytes
    2. restart the operating system
    3. retry the connection to the game

MalwareBytes has stopped objecting, the login is just not working because I dunno reasons.

edit: nevermind, it's still objecting, it's just not telling me it's objecting, but I still have to turn it off to log in. Are you sure I shouldn't be worried that MB thinks the game is malware?

I understand your concerns, but I don't think drakensang is malware, at least I hope it really isn't, EDIT.

As for having stopped objecting, I don't really know what else to think, what else can the blocking of access to the game depend on.
Do you have other programs like malwarebytes?
If malawarebytes allows you to create a list of safe programs that are ignored in analysis, have you tried adding the game as a safe program/application?

It allows me to add in safe addresses by typing, or copy-pasting, but there's no way of directly going "this page, this one right here, this is okay". I've tried variations like "www.drakensang.com/en" and "agathon.drakensang.com" but I haven't struck gold yet.

(tbh I don't know how gaming websites work, maybe the actual game part is someplace different?)

Tonight's offering from the Wheel O' Error:

It's alternating between this and "failure to connect". I'm starting to think my account is cursed.

EDIT: ooh, we have a third option- login button simply fails to show up! Lucky me!

I have this same issue. I see every one of these screens more often than the game actually boots. It seems like a thing that just started after the last regular scheduled patchwork.

You can do a right mouse click near where the password should be > Refresh and eventually the login screen appears. However, for me at least, nothing happens after I log in. The Login goes gray and nothing else. I have a ticket in with support. So far they have had me uninstall/reinstall but to no avail. We'll see if they have another solution.

PS... if you keep trying to log in, eventually you'll get a captcha to show up but even filling that out doesn't do anything.

Thanks to Support, I got logged in. It seems I needed to flush the DNS. The easiest way to do that is to go to a command prompt and type in IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS and hit enter.
