Announcement Winter Solstice Festival 2017 - Changelog

Quick summary

• What?
  • Player must collect sugar beets from worthy monsters (PvE areas)
    • Sugar Beets are used for two things:
      • As entry key for the event map
      • To get snow essences from snowmen that are placed in all PvE areas of the game
    • Player can collect progress (Honey Cookies) by killing monsters, the boss and by solving quests in the Winter Summit.

Calendar Map

The player will be able to teleport to the calendar map on every day of the event by clicking on the snowglobe at the Fairground in Kingshill.

Every day the player is able to open a new present on the calendar map. This present can only be opened after the player defeats the monster in the map. The map is only available in one difficulty.

Mini Events

There are 3 challenges during the event, which the player can enter by going to the Winter Summit.

There are 3 challenge maps. Each map is a path which contains the already known Ancestor Stones of the Winter Summit.

The challenge map is completely covered in an ice storm which gives a debuff right from the start. If the debuff ends, the player will die instantly. Only safe spots can deactivate the debuff for the time player will stand inside of it. If a player continues her/his way to the boss area, the debuff will appear again.

To keep a long story short: there are two different activities on this map:

• Way up
  • Enter the map
  • Survive the "Icy Hate" and the shooting Ancestor Stones.
  • Kill the boss (collect Winter Solstice Coins to open the big treasure chest in Kingshill)

• Way back
  • Rescue the imprisoned children that will spawn after Kranparus was defeated
  • The children will drop challenge progress
    • There is a timer that will count down to zero
    • If the timer is at zero, all children that have not been rescued will disappear
    • The timer is shown as a notification message (such as "you killed 6/20 monster")

Difficulties

The player can choose between 6 difficulties​

• Entry Requirements:
  • Normal = 7 Sugar Beets
  • Painful = 12 Sugar Beets
  • Excruciating = 12 Sugar Beets
  • Fatal = 12 Sugar Beets
  • Infernal 1 = 12 Sugar Beets
  • Infernal 2 = 12 Sugar Beets + 100 Fragments of Infernal Passage

• The difficulty modes differentiate each other in terms of loot, balancing and the amount of progress that player can get out of one run
• The challenge map will have the same difficulty the player chose when entering the Winter Summit

Changes

Updated unique itens and added crafting recipes

• Crafting recipes for the unique items are available at the Gnob
• Crafting recipe for the Pet Winter Gnome can be obtained from the progress bar of the main event
• All unique items can be dropped from Kranparus

  • 3 parts from the progress bars of the 3 mini events and 1 from the drop of the boss Big Paws

Grima

​

• After Kranparus is defeated Grima will appear to offer unique items for Draken
• She appears at the map entrance (on the way back)
