Cloak fragments in HOD..? Non-existent?

They can't talk about even if they want to. You see ... I was so frustrated when I was doing that quest ... and like I said in previous post ... It took me 8 months ... and I play this game at least 8-10 hours per day.

So I have submitted support ticket.
The answer was something like this: "We are sorry, you have tough luck but we can not do anything about it as drop rate for fragments is very, very, very, very ... very low"

 

This is one of those quests that takes a long time to finish. I see it like the Caves PW, good for loot drops but not for frags. The plus side of it is , if you are no where close to the gold required to purchase the cape you can surpass it by the time you are finished.

 

I dropped a few days 6 frags on a day ^^ So I finished the quest after 2 months.

 

Yes some people got luck. I have couple of friends who started that quest months after me ... yet they have finished it in 6-7 weeks.

 

Please don't exaggerate that much... Baron Munchausen...

It is not normal when you play 2 months and don't get any fragment. That is over 200 runs without progress.

 

Actually I believe it is possible...It is like me going months at mortis and no drops

 

When mp2 was bugged to light version i was going with a mage only on monks 10 runs per hours only monks 1-2 frags i finished cloak in 8 days also all 12 parts of the last was dropped in 3 days but i was playing 8 hours per day nothing its impossible you just need to sucrifice some free time and addict in this game in special sections.I Was lucky with cloak but unlucky with yaschak set, predator,mortis mask and etc as you see in all accounts something it easy and something its hard thats the lesson.If you try you will pass.

 

No man no exaggeration ... all my friends know how much time it took me to collect all fragments.
Best tactics is to go only for priests ... other monsters does not interest you ... there will be time when you will be farming other stuff.
And play quick turns. I get 50% of my fragments in the last 7 days ... so you can imagine how many months there was no single drop.
All I was doing at the end was quick turn only for priests. From m2 start to third knight, then restart the map. And again same.

 

Agreed Traki, but map 2 was not as bad as Map 1 for me. In my case, the 12 frags from Map 1 were a nightmare. Those from Map 2 were not soo bad because I was working on the end of time wand, I still have not gotten that Mortis frag. This is before they reworked PW and made the gear with variable stats.

 

I guess there is something about fragment dropping. Mostly we say "random", but people complain fragment dropping of specific quest. I prefer "threshold". It maybe FALSE. Just try it, nothing lose. We don't trade anything, right?

My way to do the Cloak of Power quest. You have to change my DK's skills by yours.
1. Cold Minion of Death
When knight fall down, my DK goes away and count down for cold minion spawns.
Don't get splashed by its cold air mass. Charge to stun it and then attack, iron brow or ground breaker to keep it stunned. I don't think you will get fragment if you can't stun it very well. The most problem is that mean soul or other monster will overlap it. You will miss the chance to stun or attack Cold Minion of Death.

2. Dark Skeleton Archer
Rage jump to it and Iron brow before archer releases its first arrow. You should keep eyes sharp on the edge of screen when you move on.

3. Mortis Priest
To be honest, I don't know. It has more HP than Cold Minion of Death and Dark Skeleton Archer. Stunning it or not makes no difference to me. I just notice more Smashes with critical damages on it when my DK got additional rage from other monster's attack.

Right... 50-100 runs a day for 8 months... say for simplicity's sake 30 days/month, that's 240 days. So you are talking about 12000-24000 runs...

That' just screams for another question... WHY? Why would Bugpoint expect you to run the same level 12,000 times...? I mean, don't get me wrong, I like HOD... but 12,000 times? Really?

Now, HOD takes me 30 minutes on a good day with a decent group, or about an hour solo. So, you are telling me that it's quite alright to have spend say 6,000-24,000 hours (that's a thousand days if you play non-stop... or just under 3 years of non-stop Drakensang) in HOD to get a cloak?

Why? Where is the point? Where is the incentive? I like playing the game... the whole game. Not just HOD ad-nauseum. You know, with the 3-4 runs a day, I now have 17 frags. I had 14 on Dec 9 when I wrote the original entry.

At 3-4 runs/day, that's close to 350 runs for 3 fragments... that's not a drop rate, that's an insult.

Made worse by the fact, that the first 14 frags dropped every 3-5 runs. And what's more of an insult is, that Bigpoint claims, nothing has changed. It's just bad luck. Bad luck that just co-incided with Release 111. Drop rate has gone from say 1/5 to 1/100, but that's just bad luck.

Well, my credit card just bounced, Bigpoint. That's nothing to worry about. Just bad luck.

 

Your figures just do not fit with the average drop rate I have observed in HoD. My real life brother and I both recently acquired the 1000 gold cloak. I finished a few months ago and he just finished a few days ago. We both agreed that the average drop rate in HoD (for us) was something like one dark cloth for every three to six complete runs.

Maybe your HoD luck is just abysmal? Personally, I had a much harder time finding deadly shards (OoB-M1 cloak frags). That drop rate was something like one frag for every 10-15 complete runs (for me). As always, your mileage may vary; that is the overarching factor when dealing with "random" (really, pseudo-random) drop rates. Everyone may have better or worse luck than the average person.

 

OK 50-100 runs per day ... but playing days.
By playing days I mean when I was playing that quest. You don't expect me to play 50-100 runs every single day .. one after another. so let me say 50-100 runs per day ... 3-4 days per week, and after some time spent on full map runs I went on quick runs.
I took the quest the same day when quest was introduced or maybe next day (which is not of much difference) and I am keeping my complaint mail to support team and I steel have the post of the screen showing me melting old cloak at my Guild FB group.

For all other things you have said I completely agree with you.

 

See, I used to get a frag every 3-5 runs... just like you. Up to the point where I had 14. But since I wrote this post, I have now done 350 runs. Actually just finished my 350th run since that post, because I started taking notes. And in those 350 runs I got 3 more frags. That's INSANE. At this rate I will have to run HOD another 2000 times to get my cloak? And they say that's just bad luck?

I keep saying something HAS changed around R111 or thereabouts that has completely destroyed my chance of ever getting the 1000 gold cloak. :-(

And all I get from Tech Support is: Just bad luck. And all I get form you guys is: Just bad luck. I'm just really frustrated with this. I've spent so much time and a fair bit of money on this game, and the one thing I still want is that cloak. But I guess, it's just bad luck.

 

How many times I need to repeat - they nerfed fragment drops -
I got 13 frags before they screw something with patch. Sometimes I was getting 2 drops per round.

 

Well, I'm sorry to hear that. I don't know what else you can do. I know my brother collected his last eight or so map1 cloak frags, and the last 15 or so map2 cloak frags, playing on R117 or R118; so I can tell you it isn't happening to everyone. I can't give any more information than that.
