    Release 117
    [IMG]
Besides additional weapons and armour for the Steam Mechanicus, the new Release 117 boasts a whole series of PvE and PvP game improvements as well as several bug-fixes. Particularly noteworthy is surely that we have developed a system for the fair distribution of experience points and loot rewarded for defeating monsters in the wilderness areas. This new system doesn't only benefit group players but also reduces “Kill stealing“.

    New Features

    • Protection against “Monster stealing“ (known as “Kill stealing“)
      • Starting immediately, experience points and loot dropped by defeated monsters (except for boss monsters) in the wilderness areas will be fairly distributed.
      • The player who inflicted the most damage will receive the same amount of experience points and items as usual (previously, the player who defeated the monster was given the reward, even if he/she hardly contributed to its defeat).
      • Players who inflicted at least 20% of the total damage to the monster will receive a half of the possible experience points and with some luck a little loot, too.
      • Groups are now rewarded more experience points and loot which is then distributed evenly among all group players.
    • A unique two-handed weapon for the Steam Mechanicus can now be obtained from the artefact merchant in the Watery Grave.
    • For the Steam Mechanicus, weapons, ammo and a complete set of armour from the Myrdosch region can now also be obtained from the artefact merchant in Andrakasch.
    • Subsequent changes of guild names can now be made (the cost of changing the name is half the cost of founding a guild).
    • The group status ( = who is currently in the group) is now also shown in the guild list.
    • A screenshot can now be saved to your desktop by pressing the F10 key.
    • Map markings and quest numbering
      • We began adding markings to the map (in the old areas too) so it is easier for you to find your bearings in the game. To match these markings, we also revised the quest task descriptions so that quest targets are easier to find. In the course of these changes, the old quests were also given numbers in the quest titles, just like the ones we first introduced with the Myrdosch expansion.
      • Due to the large number of quests, this revision will be carried out gradually. For this release, all areas up to and including the Wildherz Caves have been changed in the German version of the game. The translations into other languages will soon follow.
    • Our female heroes were given characteristic animations.
    Important Changes

    • Companions and costumes can no longer be sold to avoid them from being bought by mistake.
    • The chance of Materi Fragments being dropped by Mortis has been increased for the “Ring of Death“ quest.
    • The basic damage of the older versions of the “Weapons of the End of Time“ (which were available before Release 111) was also boosted by 7.5%.
    • If you are revived by a group member using a Spirit Stone, you won't be able to be injured for a short period of time, similar to being revived on the spot.
    • If you get a Lock-pick upon opening a Treasure Chest, the discounted pack prices which are offered in the shop now also apply.
    • Travel Stones can now be found in all areas except for in boss zones.
    • The exclamation mark of repeatable quests (blue) no longer “hides“ regular quests (yellow). You can now more easily recognize which NPC offers new quests and where repeatable quests are only available.
    • The map display in the “Eternal Watch“ area was enhanced.
    • The following changes were made in the arena “Storm the Fortress” (6v6):
      • The red healing auras of gears now also double armour and resistance values of all attackers (red team) who are in the their radii.
      • A stone was removed that unintentionally protected the attacker against the fire of the defensive towers.
      • There are now 20% more honour points for the winner and 50% more honour points for the loser as than before.
      • Using mounts is no longer allowed.
    Selected Bug-Fixes

    • “Invisible“ monsters no longer appear.
    • Large monsters that pursue players no longer wildly spin around in one spot when they are not currently involved in an attack.
    • Players can now be revived by the Phoenix companion again.
    • The ranger quiver “Gingerbread Man's Sweet Weapon“ from the Winter Fest was falsely declared as a weapon. This error was fixed so that it can now be correctly used in combination with defensive gems. Already used rubies, sapphires or onyxes were removed from these quivers and returned to the inventory.
    • Upon using gems at the Jeweller, a calculation is carried out to see how the item can be improved before closing the slot. Example: With a gem that causes +10 damage, a bonus of more than 10 damage points is shown when the weapon with the free slot has a percentage for weapon damage enchantment.
    • Players, who have not yet unlocked parallel world dungeons, can no longer enter these dungeons by joining a group with more advanced players.
    • Characters, who have already collected the maximum amount of Ancient Wisdom, are no longer falsely given the “Mentor Bonus“.
    • As part of the event series “Terrifying Shadows“, the Steam Mechanicus can be given a banner.
    • The Winter Fest's “Winter Festival Bag“ can now be worn with costumes.
    • A false location in the "Making History (3/6)" quest was removed.
    • The “Eye of the Beholder (4/4)”quest can now be accepted in Stalgard from Janus Fuchs.
    • Arena battles with widely varying group sizes should no longer happen in PvP (e.g. 2 versus 6).
    • The Materi Fragments which can be obtained in the “Ring of Death” quest are now correctly named (“from the Sea of Shadows”).
    • Furthermore, the Powerful Materi Fragment, which is dropped by Mortis for this quest, is also counted correctly for the quest advancement.
    • The Christmas event's epic mount “Reindeer” previously had an incorrect travel speed. This travel speed was adapted and increased to level for faster mounts.
    Known Issues
    • Anti Kill Steal
      • The Kill steal prevention does not work when minions (such as the ranger’s wolves , steam mechanicus’ turrets or spell weaver’s mind controlled enemies) are involved. This means if a player deals 20% or more damage to an enemy and this enemy is killed by a minion of another player he gets no EXP and also no loot.
    • Guild
      • New guild names will appear after map change
    • General
      • Sometimes state objects like doors or obstacle are “moving”.

The ranger quiver “Gingerbread Man's Sweet Weapon“ from the Winter Fest was falsely declared as a weapon.

This error was fixed so that it can now be correctly used in combination with defensive gems. Already used rubies, sapphires or onyxes were removed from these quivers and returned to the inventory.

This script did not work correctly– therefore, the quivers are still equipped with the gemstones.

The team is looking into the case and trying to find the cause for the corrupt script.

The Materi Fragments which can be obtained in the “Ring of Death” quest are now correctly named (“from the Sea of Shadows”).

Furthermore, the Powerful Materi Fragment, which is dropped by Mortis for this quest, is also counted correctly for the quest advancement.

The Materi Fragments have been corrected – but the wrong Materi Fragments in the player’s inventory are worthless right now.

The team is working on a script to change the existing materi fragments of players – so that they can finish the quest – without having to defeat Mortis again.
