Bot-kensang

I think enough has been said about the botting pandemic, but I think such topics should never die as to maintain its priority and awareness. Some youtube videos have opened my eyes as to just how bad the situation is. Let me put it this way: if you ever find a botter, you have only seen the tip of an iceberg.

Feel free to discuss ideas/possibilities about:
bot detection
anti-bot add-ons
etc.

 

My idea for bot detection:
1. Add people as buddy
2. Pay attention how they online
3. With the new implementation, anyone afk more than 1 hour will be kicked
4. Watch who online 24/7 because normal human can't do this no matter how much energy drink they have.

I don't want to find bot user just accidentaly found many of my buddies are never offline.

But I choose not to care at all since I see the poeple who positively use bot (filmed on youtube) still hanging around. Why I need to take action if the one with authority not keeping their word about permanent ban.

 

Well i agree that is just unfair that after grinding for so long some douche can achieve it while sleeping -.-

But truth to be told i don't think we have full support from BP here cause all those boters do use and buy premiums

 

Well, probably it's time to move on to another and better game and left this to P2P and bot users to play this devs forsaken game.

 

no matter where you go they will always be there, every game has them .. a true gamer does it the hard way, unlike these ....

I have already done so but tell me who cares ....
they only get banned for few days if they premium ,not sure about "f2p"
it does not work, all the recent changes aim to tackle bots this is what we had been told ,but there is no improvements in my opinion
mm drop rate decreased so is gold farming this is what we are left with
don't like they way BP trying to solve this problem
maybe some of those pseudo got banned permanently but we don't know that
and we should this will give a warning to others and some treat for us very patient good and most of all honest players

 

I am sorry but after reporting a boter i don't get even an answer from support, i don't have a clue if they are doing anything at all not to mention that i never heard a single thing about some kind of security against bots or anything for that matter.

 

I have one 100% botter on my friendlist. He's often 247 online and is one of the top players on heredur. He's also TGC.

As long as he's online, I guess BP didn't take action because it is so obvious he bots.

 

I know many people who is online 24/7 on Heredur. Some of them are centurions.

Btw since BP implement auto-kick system for every 1 hour AFK, there is no other excuse for people who online 24 hours than botting.

I don't know why this people can use bot for long time without punishment. Not single of them I'v seen getting banned or offline. They still online until now.

It made me angry a lot, why BP has not revealed publicly.

If he is banned - more likely for 7 days.

You can't even thoroughly fix bugs in this game.

2 thoughts on this one.

1) It seems easy to me to make it impossible to use a bot for farming. As for now, bot can't use jump. So make every dungeon so that you start on an island. Just one example, but there are many other possibilities.

2) Make bot obsolete. Arrange DSO in such a way that wa don't have to farm. Erase all loot from normal mobs, but give more loot for quests (bot can't do quests yet) and bosses (bot can't do bosses yet).

Also. Many do farm in PVE and use those resources in PvP. Give rewards (health pots for example) in PvP which only can be used in PvP. What you get in PvP, you can use in PvP, what you get in PvE, use it in PvE.

I think these are 2 possible ways to erase bots. If the game stays like it is now, bots will always be there. Just look at Dark Orbit, there ar still bots !! So please try on other approach on DSO (after banning all who botted till now)

 

I think it's a good idea.

Also, people use bot for farming and I think they use it alone in easy farm place like stalgard or temple sector. I don't know if bot can farm PW but high chance it can't. PW is hard and require strong character.

So why don't increase drop in PW and decrease drop in easy area. If you can't banned all the botters then why not prevent them for farming. I don't mind if stalgard or varholm mobs only drop 1 andermant, 10 blue ess, and rarely green items if you compensate it with increasing PW drop like 40 ander/drop, etc.

 

The island/jump idea is not bad. But messing with the loot drops would really hurt a lot of legit players that farm these areas for legit reasons (e.g. DQs, GoP melts, vendor trash for coin among others.)

Keep in mind not everyone is at endgame level and into PW's.

They banned them yes but only for a short time.
They ban TGC members too. To be a member of TGC doesn't include that you spent money. Top 3 at pvp get always TGC-membership.

What he means in your linked-film is that they don't ban users who spent much money and that's true (I'm talking about permanent ban who is the right punishment for using bots). Customers who paid a lot are always valuable for the company .

At Heredur server we know the most botters and no one plays with them and we blacklist them. I have talked to some of the best pvp cheaters and they wont play so much anymore. All true members and pro players avoid them and they aren't so good. Several films are up to prove that they sux at pvp.

 

Everyone gets treated the same regardless of whether they are a TGC member or not, if you break the rules you get punished.

Every report to support is forwarded to the programmers, evidence is better as we don't want to spam them with false reports because people don't like someone cause they get "pwned" in PvP for example.

There is a system in which we can detect bot users, and rest assured, people do get permabanned for botting.

And with every update the bot tool stops working, unfortunately the bot creators are fast at updating their tool, they only have one focus, making their tool work, our programmers have many and they do their best playing catch up.

No we don't post these publicly, however common sense dictates if you report a botter, and then they never log on again, then they got banned. If you still see them online, then you were probably mistaken.
