    Hi everyone.

During the last 'lost truth' event many of us got yet another hp-pet. And many of probably threw it away before the end of the event. Being kind of annoyed receiving yet another hp pet I started thinking...

    About pets
BP should stop making more HP pets. There s so many, and every second big event you can get a pet, if not every event. This is just a waste of event reward and inventory space, and once you have a hp pet, getting other pets is kinda boring. I know, just now a dog has been released, but that is an andermant pet. I suggest the following: As of now, create one pet for every type of enchantment (or alter some of the hp pets) that gives an additional percentage of armor, block rate, block amount, crit hit rate, crit damage, all resist, concentration/mana/rage build, damage, att speed. (I think i got them all now :p )
This way pets become way more interesting, because now you actually have a reason to keep multiple pets and use different pets in different situations.

    Epic pets
    What are they?
Now this, i believe, is the interesting part. I think epic pets should be a next step in the knowledge tree. Giving you the ability to train an epic pet. Or giving you the ability to 'breed' a miniversion of an epic mount. The epic pet works just like normal pets, but give double the percentage of a normal pet.
An idea I got from someone elses post is that epic pets could be able to attack monsters as well. Or maybe epic pets could give two buffs instead of one.

How to get an epic pet?
A new quest should be added to every pvp quest series. So one more quest after recieving the epic mount. Upon completing this quest, you'll recieve an epic pet in the same theme of the epic mount for that quest series.
Another way to get these epic pets could be to complete a series of quests over several events, or gather one out of 4 pieces of an epic pet in four different types of events. Wouldnt want it to be too easy get an epic pet right? Craft these four pieces and you have your own epic pet, without pvp.
There s one more idea under the title, 'mangled corps'.

    What should they look like?
Anything is possible of course but here s some ideas. The pvp 'epic pets' should be of the same theme as the epic mount. They could be just a baby version of the epic mount itself, or for the 3 vs 3, for example a dog with a green and red (armored) blanket, just like the horse and the suit/skin you recieve. For 1 vs 1 it could be a creature from a cold surroundings, dont know a good example yet. For 5 vs 5 it be some other creature from hell or maybe a mini 'fire minion' like the ones from the red zone in the 'desert of essences' event. For 6 vs 6 it could be robot, riding a bike or steam tank, but then really small.
Epic pets you get from an event could be of the theme of one of the events, like a sargon pet, or epic pets with a theme from the surrounding of the main bosses.

    Mangled corpse
I think this idea has been mentioned before. Being able to craft pets. But really.. craft pets? That aint possible, you d be killing them trying!
So this is the story: After finding so many pets, you got kinda annoyed by them. One day so bad, that you killed them! You torn them apart. The day after you felt bad, so you captured a nefertari and forced him to bring your pets back to life. Unfortunately this didnt go so well. After the nefertari was done, a creature stood before you, ugly, dead, yet alive. It was mangled corpse.
This pet could be a normal pet with 2 different buffs from normal pets as a result of crafting 4 normal pets.
Or it could be an epic pet with 2 different buffs from epic pets, so for example 2 10% buffs instead of 5% buffs, as a result from crafting 4 epic pets.

Well, i'm curious to your opinions and i hope the mods are willing to pass these ideas on to the designers.

Pets are only a garbage in payed storage room.
I'd prefer tiny barely visible pet without any sound and stupid movement behavior and animation.

Good pet is a fairy. it is not much visible and gives glittering effect. But it makes sounds and it doesnt work outside of the town.

I'd like pet with 5% speed bonus. A pet in a shape of something very little.
A bug for example. It's not producing any sound and it could have size 1x1 pixel.
It is deal pet for me and does not require complicated programming.

May be Bigpoint uncompetent programmers and testers will be able make this bug without any additional bugs.

Or may be they'll be able to do it only during 2 patches and one hotfix.
    :p

I like pets, including the movement and sounds. But you're right, they should be small, not big like the diligent gnome.

Pets should be better tested in PVE areas.

Diligent gnome is really bad pet. It's getting stucked nearly on each map and you can concider him as an enemy because of it's huge size.

I know, but that is not what this thread is about. It s about making pets more interesting and giving people a reason to strive for one they dont have yet.

This may seem off-topic, but I took the time to read your lengthy post and vote in your poll so I'm going to post it anyway:

I don't care about better bonus pets, epic pets or any pet to be honest. I'm sick of seeing/hearing pets everywhere I go. I don't even use mine except when fighting Mortis or Destructor, and after I'm through I dismiss it. Maybe I'll eschew pets entirely, even for the big boss fights. My real life brother already stopped using them for everything. I should follow his example.

The best idea I saw here was making the pet small and nearly silent. Anyone who still loves pets, after playing for more than two years, should probably have her/his head examined!

[This is my opinion, and does not represent the opinion of my guild in any way. As a matter of fact, most of them probably disagree with me on this point.]

Between riding my trusty Polar Bear and all the little critters running around, I've completely turned off the game sound. I didn't find it enjoyable anyway with the thousands of "huh, huh, hah, hah" sounds from attacks. That being said, I don't mind the increase in pets, but making them smaller and having less of an audio footprint would be nice.

    I really like your idea.

I would be really pleased if only I had a pet with different effects, like attack speed etc.

The idea of mangled corpse seems to be pretty good as well

Honestly, I would like to run across the maps with for example small polar bear, corpse or even mini version of mortis (this would be perfect, but I got far too good imagination :D)

And yes, it should make less sounds.

Personally i love pets, but i think we all agree with them having to be smaller and more silent. More silent goes for some epic mounts as well btw. From all sounds the loud constant growling annoys me the most.

    Thnx for all the reviews.

Anders, anders, anders :p And it doesnt give me a useful bonus in the field. I'd like to have an armor bonus with hard bosses for example, or if i find a shield with high block rate, a pet that gives an extra bonus for that. Now it s just, extra hp or no extra hp.

May be slightly off-topic but, yeah, you took the words out of my mouth. Whenever I'm busy looking at upgrade possibilities and someone on a polar bear rides up and "parks it" right next to me, I have to mute my sound. It gives me a headache after a few minutes.
