Why is the english forum second least active, in terms of the number of posts and discussions?

I just felt a little sad...

Ha, could be the holidays as well. Or we're just not as motivated...

Actually this is nothing new. If you remember the old forum at the bottom of the page it had an 'active members' number. The en.boards was one of the lowest for a long time. I recall a long time ago we had close to 80K active members but for about the last year we have been hovering in the (low) 20K range (this was the second lowest last time I checked the other boards on the old forums.)

Plus this new forum is different enough that some may feel a bit timid about diving in right away.

Just give it some time. Besides a few things that don't quite work right yet this is a much better design. Folks will be back.

    Luck be with ye,
    Mikey,

still don't get how you get an overview of the new posts. Can't be that you have to open each subforum to see what is posted.

As long as that doesn't change, I won't be posting a lot

Well at this point there is no good way to quickly check for new posts. Hopefully they will get the thing with "new posts" showing every language sorted soon. You can use the alert system to follow threads or forum sections here on the English boards. Once you have your alerts set up it helps. (That's how I knew you had posted here and quoted my post :))

The alert system is pretty good concept but cumbersome to use. Right now it's the only way to to see if there are new posts in a sub-forum. Once this new forum does start to fill up it's going to get a bit crazy unless you want to set up "watches" on every section here.

I have been posting a lot just to figure out how to use this thing. There are some things I cannot do here that I used to be able to do on the old forum (e.g. upload pics, multi-quote, etc.) I have no idea if I am just not doing these things right or if they cannot be done.

I can not tell for the others ... but I can tell for my self. I am visiting this forum less than in the past (old forum) just because of the navigate difficulties. I don't have the whole day to search for the new threads and stuff. This indeed turns me away out of the forum.

There needs to be a way to limit the "New Posts" search to the English forums only.

Yes a lot of people said they did not like it, i find it a lot easier to use the old forum looked like advanced hieroglyphics to me and this one is more like Facebook XD

It's being worked on, when the forums were first updated, every language got the "reports" from every single language board, but now we only see the English ones, so hopefully the next step is "new posts"

    I'll keep you updated.

    New forum is better.
New post's section throw's u 10 pages maximum of new thread's, I can easily scroll down and open the english threads i nnew tab. It's not really a pain, but it would be great to be populated only by english threads.
I pretty sure devs do know the innactivity so they won't change it soon.

Not at all. I think the new forum is much better. The only real dislike I have is that I cannot upload pics here directly from my computer (or at least I cannot figure out how.)

But the are so many new features that I find really useful: alerts, being able to mark specific section of forums read, setting up watches, saving drafts... just to name a few.

As with all things new there is still work to done here. They made the first update to this forum just a couple days ago (I think that was to fix the "online" status indicator.)

Vbulletin had been around a long time and was a bit antiquated imho. Even though they released a new version last year I think going this route is a much better approach. Just an assumption on my part but I believe this forum is created by BP which gives them total control (not to mention not having to pay licsence fees, lol.)

    p.s.
@ -necromonster-. I saw your post before it got deleted. I was going to reply that it does not work (but it was like 3 am here and I was struggling just to finish what I was doing ingame, lol.) I guess it is something that only mods or higher have permissions for. Oh well, perhaps in the future they will allow this feature for us peasants
