First off, I apologize if this question was asked previously. I can't find the thread. But I'm having trouble understanding why you attack by clicking on a monster with the LMB and you assign a skill to the LMB. Does this mean I'm always attacking with a skill, or is the first skill your basic attack?

As you learn skills you can choose where they should go. The one you start with can be thought of as the basic attack but there are others you may want in the LMB depending on your class and the skills you select.

@YunoBoutki I suspect if you want to know if there's an 'auto-attack' like in other games. No they're not. Every attack has to be manually activated.

Also, most arch-classes do have a default attack that doesn't cost or even generates steam/rage/mana, which would usually be your left cursor attack.

    Does this answer your question?

Yes. Thank you both very much. I understood the attacking. I just wasn't sure which attack was being preformed. But again thank you both. This game is awesome!

As you get comfortable using the interface they provided it's useful how it's been set up. also to help I use a "Razor Nostromo" . You can program the keypad to be most useful to your gaming style. furthermore if you need an auto fire you can set one up.
    Good Luck

Good advice, except about the auto fire. If you're referring to a macro, which I know can be easily programmed into a Nostromo, the mods have already pointed out that the use of macros violates the terms of service for Drakensang. Sure, it would probably be very difficult for them to know, but if they wanted to they could probably determine that the time between keystrokes all have the same millisecond delay, in other words; no human could do it that exactly every time.

I'm not going to tell you not to use macros. I'm just letting you know how the game folks feel about their use in their game. They said that re-assigning keys is OK. Macros (small scripts that perform more than one function per key press) are not allowed. FYI.
