I know this may have been suggested before, but is it possible to restrict PVP level so it correlates to PVE level? It is ridiculous to see level 7 KOTOs who have the riding skill. Yes , that is completely true, I was grinding Sigris the other day with my dwarf when one appeared, complete with horse. I am sorry I had not taken a screen shot. So, even though honour points may be accumulated, skills should be locked until a certain level on the talent tree is attained.

although the mounting talent has got nothing to do with your pve level as such (that's on the wisdom tree), your suggestion has crossed my mind too. I also think that your suggestion is a very logical change and would really reveal who's good at PvP by skill and not due to a 30% increased damage dealt and 30% less damage received advantage plus all additional skills.
aalternatively BP could setup PvP matchmaking so that one has to fight their own PvP rank. would love to read the whining comments here in the forum when a lvl45 koto is having lvl7 kotos for breakfast.......

    About screenie...
As we can see, there is a lvl 10 NKOTO in the screenshot.. Well thats nothing, its not hard to achieve it, i mean, grouping with 6lvl higher player, no exp, and in a week or two its done. BUT BP what da hell??? A edit lvl 10 with a bear?? I cant believe this.. How can you tolerate these exploits like grouping and pvping with 6lvl above you, and exhaustion bug...

I know the knowledge tree has nothing to do with the PVP and PVE skills, but that may need regulation. After all, they have half way regulated it, you cant wear the cape I think, unless you are level 40, so why not scale the other talents on the knowledge tree. But something needs to be done about twinking though.
Thanks for the screen shot Sheild, but watch the language, I do not want you getting banned.

This is a really messed up thing i would love to be able to see that guy in lv45 so i could see how well he does against someone like myself. I really hope Bp does like pve level with the pvp level so the pvp can not go over the pve level .

They should ban anyone with pvp over pve until they even out their pve with their pvp level this would allow real new players and non bug exploiters to play freely and enjoy they game the way its supposed to be. Guys like this should face people just as strong now lv10s who have been player 3 days.

They spent as much time and even more on maintaining their lvl and getting where they are now, it's up to them if they decide they are better of being lvl2 to 12 and not 45.

If you get same amount of knowledge per day as they do, why would you event put a lvl limitation on riding mounts? Makes no sense to me, they cant wear cloaks and that is restriction enough.

And why such haters? You guys all sound jealous, truth to be told.

Honestly i am not affected by this i am level 45 Marshal i am just looking out for free players and the game play experience of other players, if they want to spend money bring them up to level 45 and have fun with the big kids, not bully the new players to the game.

Yes but that is theirs decision, most of us will lvl-up to 45, they will go low lvl pvp for their own reasons and liking trust me I cant figure out what's so fun about that either. No1 is gonna get mad cause he has to play few more pvp's to finish quest or daily, cause it is better that way then to block xp and go full pvp.

What is there to hate about? That just sounds extremely childish, in my opinion. Having been reading this forum for a while, I have observed the number of complaints against twinking, and this is just a suggestion. Further, this strategy is nonsensical, basically you want bragging rights, so you decide you want to become the schoolyard bully and keep picking on the weakest in the yard. I further reiterate my original point, some skills, PVP and Knowledge should have a concomitant talent.

They can do whatever they want they pay for it and that is what big point likes end of story, go to lvl45 and play like normal ppl, leave them be.

okay fine, but only if they don't fool others. Do you think it's funny as a 'normal' level 10 to have to wait until exhaustion because this culprit just doesn't want to kill you ? It sure isn't.

That's why it should be, no kill -> no honorpoints.

  13. Talicni

    Talicni Forum Connoisseur

That is ok they would go with xp blocker to 3v3 but still prevent them from doing that in 1v1, but the suggestion was to put lvl limit on riding, which doesn't make sense if you ask me.

You are deliberately being obtuse, the original suggestion was that PVP skills should be locked based on PVE level, a sort of band system. You can accumulate as much honour points as you want, however, they would not be accessed until you level in PVE; the riding thing was incidental. In other words, there would be no level 7 or 10 koto. Maybe you are one of those persons who are involved in twinking, so can not you see any problems with that sort of behaviour. Btw, the attitude is that if you pay for it you shall do what you want is a poor one.

Just cause we have difference in opinion you don't have to be offensive.
Maybe but it's the truth they spend enormous amount of money to get items, gems and glyphs, no1 is gonna deny them that, it's not ok it's not fair but it is as it is.

I am not being offensive, you chose to interpret that way; mind you, calling others "haters" can be construed as being offensive. I will ask the mods to close the thread if it is going to degenerate into mindless arguing. That aside, it is not about restricting how much people spend, it is a suggestion to counter a loop hole which many people abhor.

Things not being fair is exactly the reason they're fixed. Players spending money on their chars is fine. But abusing the pvp system is not. And I didn't even start about how annoying it can be for the opponent player if you bring him to low hp in a shot or two and start running like a chicken lol, no offence to anyone. But waiting for exhaustion every battle is such a time waste they'll more likely want to quit such torture. Thus demotivating them to investing time and money and will affect the future population of the game. Things definitely ought to be a little more even then they currently are.

    - No player should be allowed to cheat the xp gain through exhaustion which leads to high pvp level without leveling up.
    - PvP level should be somewhat limited according to the pve level. They don't have to be same but the gap shouldn't be too wide either.
(this is coming from an end game player that has nothing to do with low level tier)

I apologize in advance for the length of my post, but I think a different perspective is needed on this matter.

First, I am going to summarize what I've seen above, which will make it absolutely clear what I am addressing, and nothing else.
Proposal: Link PvP and PvE trees.
Reason: Prevent twinking and thus prevent new players from getting discouraged from participating in PvP.

I'll just get to the point. I don't think the proposal is going to work. Why? Because you're attacking the results of twinking, not the cause of twinking.

Twinking is caused by people being able to buy gems and glyphs at a low level, they are able to group with people of a higher level ("gapping" is the term I see used) and get no xp while they get loot, and they are able to farm low level zones for glyphs if they don't want to buy it at no xp gain. Capping progress in the PvP tree to the PvE tree addresses none of these issues.

What does linking the two trees do, however? It limits the progress of players who really, really love PvP and don't do much else but play PvP.

I believe one of the purposes of the thread was to encourage players to PvP, not to discourage them! And yet, that discouragement is going to happen if the link is implemented.

I speak as someone who is still working on her first character and really enjoying PvP and playing at my own pace. I am currently a level 27 SW. My last month and a half have been busy, so I have been stuck at this level, just doing my Daily Quest and the odd PvP match or three. This has resulted in my fame tree creeping 2 levels past my PvE tree.

Under the proposed changes, I would have been capped at level 27 fame until such time as I level further, but I just don't have the time to run around and complete quests or dungeons so I only do what I enjoy--PvP. In this theoretical scenario, I would basically now be stuck at level 27 fame with no motivation to PvP any further. :( It's nice to play things for fun, but a little motivation never hurt.

And here's the thing--motivation is really the driving factor here for whether players want to PvP or not. I started PvP at level 20 and gained my first 5 fame levels purely from losses in 1v1. Then I leveled up, got better gear, switched tactics and and have been doing better since. I introduced a group of friends to this game with varying success. One guy can't be bothered to play PvP at all no matter how hard I tease him. Another guy farmed hard for legendary gear and plays PvP almost every day. Another one leveled all the way into the 30s before picking up pace in PvP, but even then, PvP is secondary to him.

Notice a trend here? The people who actually want to PvP will PvP. The ones who don't, won't. Those who really want to PvP will find a way to survive in the arena--be it leveling up, farming better gear, buying gems or a change in tactics. We don't need to be coddled by chaining the PvP tree to the PvE tree. Limiting the people who actually enjoy this activity isn't going to get an overwhelming positive response, and certainly won't induce a massive horde of people who had no interest in PvP in the first place to suddenly start playing it.

Very nice post. But I am one of those who want to PvP but I do not much anymore because I guess I am just burned out with this mess.

I am both pro and con on the subject of this thread because the problems are so complex. I have made many suggestions in the past, this being one of them, but I have to admit that these days I am somewhat at a loss.

Something needs to be done though. Some of the toons I build are just for the arena. But I quit the PvP guilds I had toons in this past summer and have played very few matches since. (Actually the most arena I have played lately is getting the 10 win quest done as I cycle my dwarfs thru during the rally. Gimme a lvl 10 toon in junk gear and I can get 10 wins, lol.)

I am still very pro "no xp gain = no honor gain." I think this is the biggest temptation for abuse out there. But as for all the other ideas out there I can see the validity of all the different points of view.

I just wish the devs would start doing something... anything. If it helps then great. If not then undo it and try something else. I would like to have the same enthusiasm for PvP again in this game that I used to.

    Luck be with ye,
    Mikey,
