Botusers

This is a question out of curiosity to the admins: There is solid evidence about some players in youtube, where you can see them use bot. So why don't you do anything about that? Why do you let them play when you know they use bot programs? I don't understand. You said that you would permanently ban botusers, but I don't believe you. Because you don't.

 

Plenty bot users have been permanently banned.

 

Not enough of them they are still here......Maybe try introducing a programme to stop them being on here, instead of trying to patch the bugs....

80% of the players in EDIT guild (Heredur) are botusers, and they are caught on video, go look an0nym0us bideo and you'll see. Those botusers aren't banned, why?

one of the biggest bot on herduer got banned , few more to go

 

This is true becouse i have check Ashraya and 60% of players whu bot there have disapear,they din't change name they off...
Sam big botusers are still there but this is a start to ban all thouse cheaters with perfect-sacred gems.
This is a good restart for game and offer to players more chanse to win in pvp and fight agains clean players.

 

Next step: low lvl pvp pushers.

There is no other explanation than this : They aren't permanently banned because then BP would loose money, and we all know money is the one thing they care about, they would never risk their income. They will do anything to get money, even if it means to keep botusers in-game.

Yes everybody knows it, even bot users... all they have to do is spend little money on DSO every month and they can cheat "legally". This is so wrong agaisnt people who uses money and play fair(they have to buy tons of cot's and saphires and rubies etc etc, but botuser... well no need to buy anything coz bot have farmed already xxxx amount everything last night i need today + some cot's and gems etc etc).. but BP seems not to care even when people are stealing from them.

The message they say to bot users is that use money and bot and try not get caught to other players and it's ok.

 

Pointing fingers and accusing ppl of lying, especially when you have no insight in the problem nor the taken actions is helping no one. Many times it's been said that we mostly are counting on your reports, videos, screen shots etc as reason/proof to ban bot users, since there is no special method in detecting the same. Be part of the movement against bot users instead of wasting time whining here and spreading misinformation.

 

Why dont you just go look on youtube and look at the names of the botters there, Is that too much hard work for you. Do we have to do everything for you?.... As a mod and members of the dev team that should be your jobs ......
There are enough hacks and ways shown there that are used here, look and find a way of stopping this from happening...
Put more into stopping them then working on hotfixes that are not needed...

If BP says that they give permaban for every botuser and the reality is 1 week or so isnt that lying??? what is the point of reporting botusers if BP doesnt even keep their word about banning them (and yes i can find statement where that is said that every botuser will get permabanned if somebody start's to twist the truth about the penalty ).

EDIT: and how to know that botusers are not permabanned.... well u keep them on your friendlist -> they are 24/7 online.... yes every minute online everyday,every week, every month except when servers are down. you see that player in video that has been reported... goes week maybe two and suddenly that player goes offline and stays offline week or so and after that back in online 24/7... isnt that just clear what has happened?

Well like i said earlier this just shows us that it's okay for everyone to use bot coz BP wont permaban u... they just say that but dont do nothing.... very sad spineless company and this is not the only game struggling with bots... there are plenty ways to stop them... but u just don't do nothing.... just word after word echoing "judgement day is coming/ botusers will be banned / we are working on it".... and nothing happens... very sad

This is just my opinion but it has started to feel pointless to use money in this game coz BP lets some people to steal the same (and actually much more ) for free...

 

I'll share a little bit about myself... I personally abhor botters. On my personal account, I am a F2P so I earn everything I have and the fact that someone can start a bot and walk away and get away with it boils my blood. As such, when I get concrete proof of a botter, I submit the evidence. I will admit that by being a moderator, I get some feedback about the botter's account that the average player sending a report wouldn't get. On multiple occasions, the evidence I've seen submitted has resulted in a permanent ban and I am thrilled.

The one example I always point to because it was such a high profile incident on the forums was Vendetta's account. Credible proof of his botting was submitted, examined, and the game account was locked permanently. Since that time, he has made one post on the forums and it was not gameplay related and no one has seen him in game. This is because it was indeed a permanent ban.

I can't go into details about other instances, but they do happen. You may have your conspiracy theories that the botters are good for BigPoint, but I assure you that the developers are committed to protecting the game from cheaters. In fact, for the longest time, Drakensang was almost uncrackable. When botters started popping up, I did a little background research. People had been trying to crack this game since it's inception with no luck as most of the traffic looked like gibberish when looked at by a packet inspector. Finally one truly intelligent hacker came along and started making the developer's lives difficult.

Stopping botters is not as simple as flipping a switch. It is a complicated issue that as soon as a solution is devised, a bot patch is released. Furthermore, before a ban, there has to be no doubt about the user being a bot. (Innocent Until Proven Guilty" anyone?) Imagine if you were accused on circumstantial evidence and you were banned because of a couple of lines of code analyzed your gameplay and said that yes, you were indeed a botter. You would be furious and rightly so. Everyone is extended that same courtesy and will not be banned just because they are in a particular guild or because you see them do something that you think looks like botting. The next time you accuse a player of being a botter and don't have incontrovertible evidence, stop and think... What would you do if they accused you?

As so often happens when this topic comes up, you all just get accusatory and cease offering constructive criticism. I am closing this thread before one of you gets yourself in trouble (You're Welcome). I know that some of you will get all paranoid and claim that I am stifling your freedom of speech or stopping you from saying things against BigPoint, but the truth is that the issue is being addressed your assertions to the contrary are counterproductive.

Remember, when a thread is closed, it should stay that way. If you have issues with this, take it up with support. Any attempt to resume this conversation with no new content (just the same complaints), We will delete the thread and infract the user. This is fair warning.

 

I can personally guarantee that permabans are issued on accounts regardless of status in the game, money spent, whining and begging and pleading through support given.

Yes sometimes semi-perma bans are given as a warning, but I can tell you now many permabans have been issued.

We need players to alert us with reports, I know this is not ideal, but with the number of players on the game, investigating everyone all at once, with the methods used isn't ideal, and you already complain about server loads.

So just trust in me that if you report it, we will investigate it.

There is also the case that many people reported as bots, may not even be bots, sometimes it is discovered that their constant online activity for example is sharing accounts and they are disciplined under this instead. I do not lie on the forums.
