We all know it takes lot of effort and time to create a new class. So till the next year starts, I want to provide some more food for developers brains. May be guys before me did this too. I am thinking of a healing support kind of Priest class that deals mostly less damage, like dwarfs do (No major 200-400% dmg skill). But having good leeching + healing abilities would be nice. But more than that I would like to have another class to give rangers pain in the back- Assassin/Mercinery. Ones that have a jack sparrow kinda body language and look freakish with tattoos on face, a hand-sword attached to left limb and another having a Midium knife-hook that can be thrown or used for close combat. this fellow could deal massive bleed damage and has quick kill skills like bird of prey. Skill of stealing armor- that improves his armor and decreases enemies armor. the hook can be used to pull enemies close in one skill and can be used as teleport/jump to evade enemies. I could generate a long list of skills if anyone is interested. Just let me know or share what pops up in your head :)
because if we start now, maybe till the end of next year these classes come to being.

Whatever the next class is, it needs to be a melee one. We now have 3 ranged character with one melee.

Nice ideas :). I also had a few ideas for new classes in my mind:

    Oracle (melee support)
Oracles are melee fighters who can support their allies with helpful buffs and also heal a bit. They wear cloth armor and use two-handed weapons, such as blades and scythes. They can also buff themselves to gain temporary weapon or armor effects. They use Discipline, a rapidly-regenerating resource. However, some of their skills can reserve Discipline. Some skill ideas:
Wrath: Increases damage done by 15% and decreases damage taken by 20%, reserves 50 Discipline. Can be toggled on/off.
Lightning Blade: Imbues your weapon with lightning energy. Every slashing attack has a 15% chance to deal and additional 20% of your base damage as lightning damage up to 5 nearby enemies. Reserves 25 Discipline. Can be toggled on/off.
Storm Shield: Grants your allies and you an energy shield that blocks 25% of the incoming damage. Lasts 10 seconds. Cost 30 Discipline.
Healing Wave: Heals all nearby allies for 20% of their health. Cost 50 Discipline.
Storm Ascension: Transform into a mighty storm elemental for 15 seconds. In this form, you have three new abilities: Glacial Blow, that deals 80% of your base damage as cold damage, Ride the Lightning, charges to the enemy, a chance to stun the enemy for 2 seconds (CD 5 seconds), and Abyss, that creates a maelstrom that pulls enemies to the center of it, stunning them and highly reducing their armor (CD 15 seconds). This form has a 2 minute cooldown. Cost 80 Discipline.

A healing/supporting class would be amazing
    Spells:
    Some sort of healing spell.
Some sort of damage increase for group/guild members while in PvE.
Could spawn some minions to help in battle since this class will be quite weak.
A shield protecting allies from damage.
Definitely has to have some great stuns.

    Assassin class
I think if added this class would be amazing...And a serious nuisance for rangers and spellweavers. Also would be great if you could use a bow or a sword and not having to stick to one weapon, would be awesome!

    Pretty much what RaxxX said.

Sorry to disappoint you guys but there will never be a healer/support class in DSO. The reason is because in DSO, when you can heal or buff in PVP that is way too OP for your teammates (or healing yourself) since there are no HP regen. The support class would be greatly underpowered as it cannot do well on its own or just kills too slowly.
About assassins, dwarfs are actually like assassins if you get what I mean. I play a dwarf and this is how I'll describe it, "Life is a firework". You go out, BAM, and then you got nothing left. Like assassins, Dwarves gets to use a technique and then do heavy dmg on the opponent which is basically C14+ heavy shot combo (heavy shot also reference to multiple hits that assassins can use). Shrapnel shot has a 48 second CD time even with the talent but does a total of 600% dmg. Also, iron dwarf has a 2 minute CD (longest in game) but can make the dwarf REALLY powerful during that time. Furthermore, dwarves have a 5% travel speed bonus from talent tree which fits an assassin's idea of running fast. Dwarves also have light armor (same base as SWs in case you guys don't know).

I believe that in games like this there should be classes but not A LOT of classes. It would be terrible if classes just keep popping out, you might as well go play a MMORPG with 64 classes (believe me, there are more than one of these) and the gameplay is terrible. 4 different sophisticated classes to be honest is already a good number, but one more wouldn't hurt.

I sort of agree with most of it I do realise now the support class would be VERY op and would sort of ruin PvE. 5-6 classes maximum, dwarfs seem extremely boring and weak to me it's a useless class and doesn't remind me of an assassin.

You haven't fought a strong dwarf then. Also, in CTF they run with like 150% travel speed on iron dwarf mode while immune to all marks, stuns, burns, freezes, etc. and are still able to carry flags.

Yap, very powerful in CtF, those little sneaky ****** just sneak up and activates iron dwarf skill, bb flag no way you could catch him.. =.=

True that with all skills enabled dwarfs are a good match for all 3 classes. But its not a teeny bit like assassin- they got no huge damage, they are not that sneaky, not mean/notorious/hated, not so much enjoyed. An assassin wields hook/whip + arm attached sword/Scimitar (like 2 choices of wep. sword goes with grappling hook, scimitar with whip) (1 weap in each hand) will be super fun. It does melee as well as few ranged tricks like dk and is master illusionist. The mere feel of being invisible defines the uniqueness of this class.

Yesterday during maintenance i wrote down few ideas for skills. Let me show y'all how i picture it. A quick killer with damage more than rangers, low-mid def, hp higher than mages lower than archers. Dark purple/dark blue guise, masked appearance with only eyes showing.

    Skills:

    1. Slice: no cd. uses 5 hate/mana. basic 80% dmg with scimitar or sword.

Talents: 4% increased damage with next attack. Stacks max 5 times. Or 5% travel speed increase for 4 seconds per hit for max 5 hits.
(Speed thing is to cause annoying hit and run again and again)

    2. Whiplash: uses 25 hate. 120% damage. cd: 3 sec. iron hook or whip strike, medium ranged-atk. (4-5 yard, damages all enemies directly in hit contact/front)

    Talents:
(lv10) On hitting multiple enemies, returns 10 hate/rage to the assassin.

    3. Test of time: cd-20 sec. uses 20 hate. For next 8 seconds, Rogue endeavors to channel his pain on enemies and all his attacks accept SLIT-THROAT, deal 30% more damage.

    Talents:
    a. Now slit throat will also gain damage boost from this skill.
    b. using successful damage skills fill +5 hate/mana per hit during skill duration.

    4. Poisoned Turf: cd-25 sec. uses 20 hate. Swings the poisoned whip in a circle 5 meters wide. Everyone in range of circle will ooze blood as 15% dmg per sec for 6 seconds and then get immune till it lasts for 10 seconds.

Talents: A trail of poisoned fumes (2 meters long maybe) runs with the assassin wherever it goes for next 5 seconds. Contact with trail causes 45% damage and 15%speed reduction.
(AIM is to make it run around enemies and terrorize them of getting damaged with the trail. stay light footed and jumpy.)

    5. Hooked Jump: evade skill like other classes. Quick jump with a rope (like the monkey animation rope. downward jumps will be normal jumps. not lunging like rangers). uses 8 hate. cd 10 seconds.

Talents: (lv15) Using Hook-Jump removes all, slowing/freezing/bleeding effects

    6. Slit-Throat: cd-30 sec. no hate usage. A perfect attack around the neck with 280% melee damage.

    Talent:
(lv25) A successful use of skill grants the rogue to be in a frenzy that does not allow any freezing or stunning for next 3 seconds. (Slowing effects of singularity, traps etc exist though)
    or
(lv20) 20% of damage caused will be drained out on next second after skill is hit.

    7. Master of Illusion: no hate usage. cd-50 sec. The assassin wraps himself into the magic of an invisible cloak that lasts for 15 seconds. Any attack made during the skill reveals the hidden rogue. Only hooked jump is allowed without revelation.

    Talents:
Now you can use all skills except slit-throat, without being revealed during the stealth mode.
    or
Assassin heals his wounds with potions during his hiding 2% of max hp for next 6 seconds. also cd of skill is reduced by 15%.

    --Merged--

    8. Morbid Song: cd-30sec. 30 hate used. The rogue calls for a screaming Hell-Phoenix (a huge bird's long-tailed shadow is seen on the ground). during the screams everyone's visions shake and enemies can only perform non-damage skills for 6 seconds.
(This will kinda bring the ice into a totally bloody arena. Suddenly no one knows what to do and match kind of resets with a distance. only rogues on the ally team can use skills during the effect. So this will give more notoriety to rogue even on his own team :D )

Talent: The bird's voice now causes 40% damage to all enemies on screen.

    9. Summon: cd-20 sec. uses 30 hate. Strikes enemy with whip/hooked-chain(4-5mts long) and pulls him closer instantly from a distance causing 80% damage. enemy gets stunned for 3 seconds (pvp 1 sec)

    Talents:
    a. Hook strike puts the enemies defence down for some time (4 sec).
(AIM is to plot a mean combo for SLIT-THROAT to give edge over ranged atkers)
    b. (lv35)Enemies rage/mana drops 20 points per second for next 4 seconds. The default mana replenishment will be dropped during this time. (AIM is to drain all mana, sort of).

    10. Last Resort: 30 hate required. cd- 30sec. The rogue throws enchanted powder in enemies eyes (all in direct front, 4 yards) to escape his own death. Enemies are stunned for 4 seconds (pvp 1.3 s). Skill can not be used in full health. Also the rogue can not use skills except slice and evade/jump during the effect of this skill.

Talent: Now the rogue has courage to attack while using LAST RESORT skill.

    11. Emanations of Pain: Hate used-60. CD-1min. Rogue gathers all his hate and multiplies into 3. his 2 other selves go hunt his enemy with SLICE skill. The shadows damage same as the rogue and last 15 second.
(Spoiler. real rogue can only be seen by pointing cursor on him and seeing his lvl. other two will be named "NAME's SHADOW") :D

    Talents:
    a. (lv40) The shadows are 5% faster in traveling. Every damage taken by the rogue is spread equally between the 3 facets of pain. Skill cd is lowered by 20 seconds.
    b. (lv40) Cooldown of skill is lowered by 33% and your shadows can no more be stunned or slowed.

    12. Destiny's Plan: Hate usage-60. CD-1min. The rogue devotes himself in worship of the Dark (meditating cross-legged in air and dark shadows) for 10 seconds. Every damage dealt to him during this time is nullified and reversed to the attacker. If no damage is received, rogue's defense gets +10% strong every second of his prayers. the accumulated defense lasts for next 10 seconds.

    Talents:
    a. Hate points do not deplete during the extra defense mode.
    b. Hate points remain half during defense mode but no stun effects apply anymore.

:D I know its way too much to visualize before it ever happens or never happen.. and how the healing class would s*ck. :D
but its kinda cool and will look good only in drakensang.
Because for so many others like me, the dwarfs strategy development is not my genre. I mean its balanced and all, but most of its skill dont damage much and turrets dont use steam and have no cooldowns. I know there must be some catch with doing that, but meh..I like rangers and mages way more than dwarfs and i kinda s*ck at melee tanking. So i hope for one such damage oriented feared predator for archers.

And healer would be asking too much because they would do bosses solos even without pro gear. And will run around endlessly in arena till win.

    --MERGED--

Too long. Don't read. (If not interested :p)

#1 If you are telling me dwarfs can't PVE I'll tell you mine can. With turret CD talent you got an area armor break with C14 like everyone 20 seconds if you are just using 1 turret. Against stuff that you can't break? Bust out those shrapnels and machine guns while you dodge or maybe Just iron dwarf their butts off.

Kind of boring reading your assassin as it is either the copy(with some edits) of other classes or just from another game and EDIT. Sorry but I will explain why dual wielding will not work in this game just like how a priest will bring chaos (that irony). Dual wielding is usually regarded as fast, I do not believe anyone will call an assassin "slow". If you can't relate a dwarf's traits to an assassin then too bad. Dwarf has POWER (short bursts like assassin especially) with low armor. What power? Iron dwarf HUGE increase in everything. Shrapnel shot is 600% dmg while C14+Heavyshot deals heck loads of dmg. P.S. Heavyshot with talent is like multi atk of assassin (use imagination guys). Ok, back to the dual wield topic: Two fast weapons with 2x the dmg of 1 handed will upset the balance of the game. An assassin will probably KO a bunch of junk in a hit or two and they are FAST. There is something called "2 handed weapons" for a reason. It gives like double the dmg at the cost of slow speed. The slow speed is the only reason why it doesn't upset the balance of the game. If you wish to introduce 2x 1 handed weapon it will mean a 2 handed weapon with FAST ATK SPEED. Mayhem will visit the grounds of Draconia.

I did not disagree with someone calling dwarf a good class. I just said steam-punk(dwarf) does not fit in a mythical land of magic and shape-shifting creatures and major bosses. Just said that it is off the concept a bit, "for me".

Secondly, If they were to release a new class ever, I think my suggestion would be in top 3 :p. There are always measures to bring balance to game. Yeah, it would be a very speedy class, possibly the fastest, but it is fast because of no heavy armor and no heavy weapon. Just melee blades and a short-ranged hook. the hook is supposed to evade and perform just 2 ranged skills. (Sigh) if we are using creative corner and not putting our imagination then it would be a waste. And if you've read some parts i did mention its low armor class, high speed and medium damage, better travel speed but attack is medium to high ranged. and just like archers/dk/mage/dwarf, the attack and speed depend upon the choice of weapon (1.05 sec or 0.85 sec atk speed). Its just that you are not allowing yourself to visualize it like that.
about the copy cat thingy, no i did not copy any of the stuff i mentioned above are 100% my own ideas, inspired from other classes in drakensang: 1 evade skill, 2 basic skills, 3 slowing/poisoning/stunning skills, 2 sommoning skills, 2 massive attacks and 1 self-boost skill. I dont like stupid games with bad 2d graphics. Just thought if there would be a class like assassin's creed, what could be the skills similar to other classes in DSO. And before you say i copied this stuff from Creed, I would say that it is based on grapple attacks and combos, not these kind of skills.
Anyways different people different opinions ;)
