HP is better than armor. Armor does not affect most spellweaver attacks, and some monsters also ignore armor, including bosses. So I'd say keep the old pauldrons.

    I agree with Spiro.

However, if you plan on paying, gear with Armor enchantments + HP gems will have better results than gear with HP + armor gems.

So long as the armor you lose from choosing the HP shoulders is not too much, I say use the HP ones.

Roughly 90 armor vs 130 HP... about the same, so choose whichever you need more.

The other thing missing is your stats. When asking for advice, make sure you hit "C" too so we can see your stats too. It may be that your armor is bad in which case, the second might be better. Or you may have decent armor for your level and then everyone above would be right and the HP would be better for you. I rarely give hard and fast answers... everything needs to be evaluated relative to the individual.

In a way I think this answers my current problem. When I started playing way back in the mists of time, my mage was soo weak she just died all the time ( It may also be something to do with me being about 40 years too late to start learning to play these games) So I started a warrior and I loved it at the beginning, but I gave her the fatal flaw of being me ; small and female, so I put her on a back burner and went for the Ranger. Sorry, I'm getting to the point...Eventually I got the Ranger and SW to lv 40 and started new chars because I love zipping through the lower levels and I started a big male warrior and I thought he was OK. (He's lvl40 now). Until today someone asked me what my HP is and when I told him he kinda ignored me for 5 mins and then left the group. Apparently I have built another wimp. I thought I needed armour and damage and so far it's suited my play, but all the time I should have been looking for HP? I have Tegan's armour (400 armour) which I am upgrading slowly and I thought that was the plan for DKs. D'Oh!

Too late? I don't think so ... it is never too late.
If your warrior suits your playing style and if you have no problems staying alive ... ignore the others. It is your character not their. You build your character the way you like not by others requests.
