I guess 2H would be viable option for 3v3 and 1v1, it just depends on your strategy in PvP vs the opponents play-style. If you can dodge and wear your opponents hp down and/or wait for the right skill cooldowns u can end the fight in 1hit. However this takes a lot of discipline play, and in the top ranks you will lose most of the time against skilled players of similar level money/farm investment. I dont mean everyone ofc

Personally as a 1H dk i'd never use 2h in a tough pvp fight, using cloaked wrath and a high damage/crit build is unbeatable because you have similar 2h damage although shield makes all the difference.

OK ... and what about rangers? All rangers are using 2H weapons. Both short and long bow are 2H. Does that mean rangers are not successful in pvp?

Difference is that both are treated like 1H weapons... the always get a choice of "off hand item." Imagine a 2H DK that had a back shield like Robert Rampage had during the last defend event. No one would chose a 1H DK build then.

    Yes that is true.
Anyway it is the same 1H or 2H ... the only difference is you have to adopt to different style of playing.

PvP games that have no respawn, NO WAY.
Games with respawn, doesn't matter, 2h, 1h, are all good. It depends on gear choice, like say if your armor was at 50-70% reduction, and magic defense was at 50-70%.

Only then will I think there will be no need for a shield, now you focus on HP and get it to high 8000's (If possible I don't know I am only level 40 DK.) And then you've got your self a killing machine.

I think you accidentally forget that rangers have the choice for a off hand slot... They have the choice to use a shield, or quiver.

Where as the DK has NOOOOOO OPTIONS, strictly 2h, no off-hands which technically is a TRUE 2h class.

    Not accidentally but intentionally. :D
I mean ... if ranger uses quiver that is true equivalent of 2H DK. Anyway they have less starting attack speed than DK's just to compensate.

Lol, 8K HP is a starting point for an Endgame DK with or without a shield. I have 10.5K as a 2H and it makes a big difference because it acts like a reserve while your MWS cools down and you can use that to refill your HP. And getting 50%-70% resist... Easier said than done. That is about 1850-1900 resist at LVL 45 which is expensive and only really helps against mages. Unless you are a serious cash player, your aim should be for 600-1000 resist (25%-33%) and 3K armor (about 60% reduction) and 8.5k-9.5k HP for an endgame DK. There are exceptions, but this is a good starting point.

Yeah I've only had 50% resistance ONCE the entire game, and that was at lower levels. Right now I only have 20% :\.

Well, I certainly would want to try a ranger with maybe a "giant crossbow" or something. Haha, no offhand items, just a 2h big dmg dealer.

Yeah i'd like to see that haha rangers slamming 12kdmg in pvp
I would definitely like to see an offensive option for a Dk offhand, similar to quiver/scroll. Not exactly like sargon shield, more like Dual Wield :)

yeah fire once every 1.5 seconds, by that time the markings about gone or debuffed already haha. I already explained why dual wield will destroy the game in some other thread. To make the long story short, no.

Hm i did not see, but i would guess at something like DPS not being the dk class, if we had similar dps to the others we would be OP, due to our hp/armor

Also, if you want to dual wield, you can try a sargon shield with your high dmg! 20% increase dmg but with pretty junk block rate. Still gives armor bonus so would work for you.
