Too many are botting :(

As long as there are bots in the game I stop playing...
I will be back few months later to ceck this botting situation out...
if there will be still bots in the game I WILL QUIT for good...

Unfortunatelly many of my friends are quiting too for the same reason ;/
We found outrageous that DSO dont do anything about this situation...

Many players even advaced the ideea that the bot 3rd party programs are produced by DSO ... if thats the case why you dont make it officially?? ... if not why DSO allow all these bots in the game and why they dont ban them ???
We have spended money and time in this game... and we dont want to face bots!

I thought they had an update to kill botters.

 

Thats verry sad daarth i always liked playing with you.
But daarth says the truth BP did nothing for a too long time and now also the best players quit the game.
Maybe we will see us in some months again.

Using some program to play the game.

 

Seems to be a problem in nearly every mmo the last few years.

 

DSO works with every update and hotfix to improve the game against botters, and we are always collecting the reports that come in and have them looked at by the programming team.

Unfortunately unlike the botters, our programmers have to work on several different aspects every update, because they are constantly improving and adding to all aspects of the game, the bot makers only have one thing to work on.. their bot, so they sometimes manage to be a couple of steps ahead of us, and are able to update the bots against our own counter measures fast.

Rest assured, we will always always be working to tackle bots.

 

Botting is in games since the start of the game era, not the last few years only.

BP do take money from bot's, so why ban them?

 

@dragons well years do go by quickly, I suspect we don't consider 'a few years' the same amount. Farmbots have been getting more excessive lately since the online game market is bigger as it ever was and still growing.

Since it's impossible to trade in this game, it's rather unprofitable to bot... sure you'll level up/get stuff easier, but the risk of getting your main account banned(since there's no trading) just doesn't seem worth it.

Also BP doesn't make money from bots, since they make money from selling adamant which those bots are most likely farming.

That being said, I myself haven't actually seen anything or anyone suspicious as of yet.

 

Ive noticed that issue, many players wont even respond to me when i say hi and continue to repeat a task for hours on end

 

@Deefje botting is just the name of the application you coded to controll automaticaly your character. Such hacks have been here since the invention of the binary language.
There are numerious ways to track bots down, BP can pick any of them and deal with it, just like the rest of the world is doing (mmo game companies).

 

u guys are just using it as an excuse to complain about everything. yeah there are tons of botters , but the most damage they do imo is probably cause lag with tons of useless commands. If u play the game enough time they might have a bit of an edge at endgame but not that exaggerated. The whole bot issue is over bloated and an excuse to whine. Go get better gears instead of complaining here

 

I guess many botters buy the premium. And many botters will leave the game if bot is banned (see dark orbit).

The real question BP should ask theirselves is : Why do people use bots ?

Imho there are 2 reasons. The first one is greed, nothing to do about that. The second one is to evade to endless grinding !

Make a game where you don't need to grind that much. Make a game where players get enough loot by killing bosses which bots can't handle. But don't make them grind for realmfragments or whatever for hours just to be able to participate in an event.

The only real solution is to make a game where bots don't give a real advantage otherwise there will always be programs to take over mindless gameplay.

..so you are happy with these bots as I see ... well you must feel so cool to sleep and your char farm glyphs right? and then must be so funny for you to come on forum and play smart... this is defiance!
as about "complain/whine" and "get better gear" I can assure you I never complained before about this game ( with all bugs, errors and other things...) even if I playing it since beta and as I am basically p2p due do my job at sea, trust me I dont cry about gear either, many like you keep telling me "com'on man use it you are big spender they will not ban you"... is just a matter of principle - I simply refuse to use bots, as I got enough xp in gaming online, to know that this bots matter, if is not handled properly, sooner or later will ruin the game, will make evrything useless ( evrything you bought or farmed in a fair way ! )
P.S. : you know so much details about botting:commands, dmg and so on... as I said: defiance!

 

I like the grinding for armor and for the realmfragments, its what makes the getting the items so much more special! If you were to get the a legendary piece of of armor only after killing a boss a few times does it mean anything? Realm fragments are not even that hard to come by just work for your items!

 

doesn't matter if you like it or not, many don't. Besides, if a bot can do it, it's just mindless gameplay. No bot can win a 1v1 from a normal player. So make bots obsolete by making the game in such a way that you need to play, not grind.

 

I guess i understand what you mean, you trying to say that we shouldn't spend hours to even months trying to get an item right? in that case i can agree with you

 

I've been away for while
but yes bots are a real pain in .... i can feel it every single day while i'm in arena
so many stories rumors and still they are in the game .
this what i don't understand
I do understand that people are busy trying to solve this problem but this is not enough ,honest ones are very upset cuz from our point of view it does not make any sense to farm ,fight at the end we always will be behind botters
no matter how hard we will try .That's why people leaving .
Bp should create in game group (players workers whatever )with the power of banning ,those who are suspected if failed should be banned permanently
naming and shaming it's not always the best practice but news like we have done this and that would be perfect
i'm sure this will keep many of good players in the game and will make many of those who left to come back .

well fyi I'm not using bots, don't need to, besides I'm not so trusting to install some program on my pc to let them roam about in it. But u on the other hand seem to be more concerned about what and how ppl do things rather than u enjoying or playing for whatever reason. U don't like it , do what I did, don't use it. The way bp solves these things seem to hurt other players more than it does the botter the way I see it. I don't think it's that hard to spot/detect botters,and the sure way to stop it is a ban, but for some reason they're still around. Maybe like they mentioned in this thread it's b/c the spenders are the ones using it. Possibly but it will definitely compromise the game in the long run, I do agree with that.
The main thing I was pointing out on my reply is a statement like " will make evrything useless ( evrything you bought or farmed in a fair way ! ) " Now that is an over bloated exaggeration.
