english speaking players/server?

I was my understanding that once you announced your language you would be paired with an appropriate server, where you could join guilds and play as a group. Just a minute ago another english speaking player said the same thing: "I thought this was an english server".
My objection is not to the diversity of languages, but to the lack of players that i can converse with.
Are we in the wrong place? Are they?

 

I'm not sure how the language-server pairing works. I assumed Agathon would have a player base composed mainly of English speakers. I soon realized it was about half English and the rest mostly Spanish/Portuguese.

Once you find some English speakers that have been playing the game for a while you will enter the... 'domain' of english speakers xD and you'll see that there are lots of people you can communicate and play with.

 

so far ive seen portugese, spanish, german, what I believe is dutch, and a few languages I dont quite recognize--and only one other english speaking player. Im about ready to join a guild, but have learned from experience if we dont speak the same language its not going to work well =)
Would it help if I posted in english on the chat board? Does that help?

 

Well i am with tegan server, on this server english is the predominant language, also we are kind of lucky in my guild most people are from indonesia, Philippines and Malaysia yet we speak english. i understand the server is a near geographical location obviously in california and the asia pacific there is a heap of languages.
But Tegan there is a lot of english i dont have problems with it

 

I think everybody can speak a little English and that's about it.

 

English is the minority for this game sadly.... It gets extremely boring\lonely from time to time.

Time to move onto another game with a larger English base, shame.

 

I'd have to agree... joining this game seemed like a good idea, however having absolutely nobody to speak to, is just depressing.

I did plan to invest some money into this game since it got me hooked, but I think I'll give it a miss and hunt down an English player-based game.

im pretty much a loner, so not belonging to a guild is no loss, except for the companionship it offers; and i have found that if someone invites me to a group in the 'field' we do quite well muddling about without too many language difficulties. Its only when I have a quick question in the game itself that it becomes difficult. and yeah, i think it's starting to work for me finally.

 

Perhaps put out a shout in public chat? I remember once someone in KH yelled in frustration to ask if there were any English speakers in the game. Guess they got the right time, 'cause a ton of English speakers suddenly replied.

 

I would like to know what time (pst or west coast,USA) you are playing. I am playing on tegan and rarely see english speakers at pw staging area.

 

Yap same here Grimag,only few speak english,only chirilic leters,its frustrating ..

 

Maybe you have not tried to find them.

I play at grimmag and there're a lot of them, its like trakilaki said.
If you can't find them in the city where you are, use your teleport inside the city, to enter a new room.

But bot doesn't speak any language. Bot only does ... chop, chop, chop, ... pick up, pick up, pick up.

 

I play on the Tegan server, there not many other Australians, but i joined a great guild and have no problem conversing with the other players, a lot of them don't speak much English but we manage..if you love the game you find a way to communicate.

 

Lol, always that questions about English speaking servers. Anybody ever heard about Heredur? Like 70% of the players i meet there speak
English. Some very well, most at least understandable. It's a european server and it gets a bit overloaded in events sometimes, but you should definitely not get lonely there.

Btw, bear in mind that when you just start playing the game, you start in an area with many newbies that dont always know how to use the chat properly or who are just too busy with experiencing this new adventure (not everyone looks at the chat every 5 seconds). When you advance in the game and get to Kingshill and beyond, it should be easier to find English speaking players (that actually know how to use the chat).

 

I to wish there were more English speaking in tegan buuut I been playing so long im starting to understand a bit of portugese and Spanish lol

If you dont look you wont find them.. there are plenty of english speakers on the agathon server....
