To put it simply, my lvl 37 DK has too low Base Damage, this being my very first character and I am just a month old in the game so i need major help to improve it.
Here are the complete stats of character and equipment

You need gems. Save up your andermant and buy Rubies during Gem Sale. Each Polished Ruby will cost 4800 andermant.

The Sword's speed is pretty good, but it only has 1 gem slot. Look for one with more slots so you can put more gems in it. Same with Talons.

Alright. Anything else? like any specific weapon I should look for or what is the best weapon to have at that level?
Also what should be a good HP, and Base Damage stat at my level?

At level 37 you may start opening legendary items, as you will use them for a long time (until level 43, if you're lucky enough to get better l43 stats). Just do a prayer to get damage enchantments. Replace your blue ring with a legendary one (level 37, not less); then go for amulet, belt, ornament and rings which may all get damage enchantments.
Unfortunately, according to your screenshots, you are not the kind of player who saves andermant/CoTs, but you seem to spend them as soon as you can.

Well I have saved like 3000 Andermants and as for COT I spent them all at one go to open the level 34+ Extraordinary gears in screenshot. Actually I saved like 1500 COT to open all the Extraordinary items at one go. so its practically nil now.

Well, then what's sad for you is that enchantments work in ranges : level 31-36 items give level 31 enchantments, while level 37-42 items will give level 37 ones, with [possibly] better values.

Oh, I am a total newbie in the game, didn't know that, I just hope I get good event drops now or maybe I should start collecting anders for the legends i have in inventory.

Get Karabossa's Axe next time the New Moon event is around. Get Vargulf Shield next time Full Moon is around. (you need to farm the maps prior to the events to be prepared... so you'll need lots of portal fragments)

Focus on left side items for critical hit rate and damage. Maybe get a legendary body armor for some health.

Just for reference, my level 25 DK has 2400 HP. At level 37, it should be around 4k.. but that's with legendary items. You'll get there eventually, just get some decent offense first.

Thats depressing, my lvl 37 has just 2692 HP. Anywgere where I could farm legendaries ?

    Hi @Durrendal

Your level won't last long, you will be higher level before you find another equipment or collect COT. You should replace your low level items from time to time, like that blue ring, amulet and that helm. I think the rest of your gear will be just fine for playing to level 40-41. Farm for realm fragments and during the New/Full Moon events try your luck ... maybe you will get some of those event unique items. They will save you a lot of time and farming.

EDIT: You can farm Gorga for legendary equipment. But I would suggest you to keep only level 40 items.

    Hi back @trakilaki
Yeah, problem is that, I am gettign a lot of conflicting advices, Some tell me to not level and farm for COT instead and some tell me to level quickly to 45 and finish Ammon quests to get good gear for free.

  12. trakilaki

    trakilaki Living Forum Legend

Well they are all correct, but you choose what you prefer. Leveling quickly or farming for gear that would be obsolete and time consuming. :)

It would have been awesome if those same people helped me complete Ammon instead of playing with a "gapper" to stop levelling lol.
Though some of them do help out but some others are just...

Leave parallel worlds for last, after you are level 45. They are hard and you need good group for doing them ... and the most important thing ... they will give you gear that will be obsolete after you are level 45(or lower). And not just that, once you finish PW quests, they require more fragments then the first time, so you will have even more tough time at level 45.

I doubt you could go against level 45 monsters with those stats. Even if you did try to level up you would still find yourself in as troubling -if not more- a situation as the one you're currently in. At least you can farm items of your level on your own, instead of leveling up and having to rely on groups for everything. Keep in mind that some people aren't strong enough to help out, and most of those who are strong enough would rather not. Basically, some people will not group with you if you fail to do what is expected of DKs, to tank.

Ultimately, it is your choice...but while deciding you should consider the consequences. They are the same in this game as in any other, so it shouldn't be difficult to realize them.
If you farm now, you are committing yourself to stay at a lower level than endgame... which would seem as a waste of time to some.
If you level up, everything will be harder to do. (In the long run, IMO anyways, you'll waste more time if you tried to level up too quickly.. I suggest you just do what you will and let the levels gain themselves)

Offtopic: This thread is looking like more of a discussion what with the rapid, back-to-back posts and all. I like it :) However, I have to go now and will stop posting until.. many hours later today. Take care.

So I should find legends appropriate for my level and use them to strengthen?

So what do you think I should do? I am kinda confused as you can see.

My advice is to get some friends first. You should help each other.
Collect enough realm fragments for events. Next is Full Moon event, so you should farm for silver and scrolls of silver power. With little luck you can get uniques from the boss. It will save you time and resources as well. You don't need COT to identify them. But first you should replace your items I have mentioned above so you would be a little bit stronger.

I am playing at Grimmag server, if you are playing there I can help you. ;)

yeeeeah, I have a few friends who are pretty strong but they want a gapper in their team.
And no, I am in Tegan.

Thread seems silent. Come on people, I need to improve my DK.

I agree with Trakilaki for the most part. (except for our obvious disagreement on when to level up :p )

Earlier today I meant to say, don't go mindlessly grinding for exp. Set other goals like.. certain amounts of andermant/cots/whatever else. Of course you will get exp in the process, as you should be fighting monsters of your level or slightly higher, but you will be making the most of the time you have. Don't go out of your way to gain exp.

As Trakilaki said, the Full Moon is upcoming and you should prepare for it. Enter Varholm map and farm essences. No monster in the Varholm at Full Moon(during event) will be harmed unless you have equipped Silver Essence or have used a Scroll of Silver Power. Now, using a scroll allows you to wield damage-increasing essences but it has a time limit. While, using Silver Essence does not. Take into account what it will take to kill the boss a number of times...don't convert all essence to scrolls, essence lasts longer and allows you to get more kills.
Try to get the Vargulf Shield, as it has an enchantment of 100-150% increased Block Rate.

After Full Moon, prepare for New Moon... it's usually active near the end of any month.. around the 28th or so. But just to be sure, visit the wikia to check.

Actually, the New Moon Event usually occurs near the New Moon. :p

This time next year it will be 16 Jun 2015. This shift over time occurs because the lunar cycle is only 29.53 days long. Not being a troll or a jerk, it's just that I'm a bit of an astronomy buff and moon cycles are a pet peeve of mine.

    EDIT:
Oh, and a bit of help so that I am not yelled at for not contributing to the thread. Save your ander for gems, yes, but also save it for inventory expansions so that you can farm the better gems and have room to store them until you can craft them. As a F2P, never spend ander on consumables like CoTs and Essence. Rather spend it on the things that last (like inventory space and gems) but are not otherwise easy to farm (Like Glyphs).
