New event in TS

No, they're useless. Their names had fractions in them(1/4) so I was hoarding them for a while just in case they do something... but the proof is insurmountable. The icon that displays them when they are dropped is the same as those Jarlshofn region items (Valkyrie, Golden Ship, Rusted Axe) which are just sold for coins. In their description they don't say "Item is part of a quest".

All they do is tell a story. Lemme give you the rundown from what I've learned from the 3 sets that I found.

Dragan wants a delivery from kingshill to be placed in his lair, as well as artifacts in Amphorae which the dwarves will plant into what is, presumably, a system of reaction most likely having to do with power or the extraction and transfer of it.
Previously, there was trouble in the excavation site that unearthed the amphora and a more precious artifact; after finding THE artifact(of the story) the mine collapsed and killed a lot of gnomes. The Dragon's Breath is then recovered and sent to Dragan. Meanwhile, a dwarf woman with a ghetto sounding name is trying to escape captivity and provide freedom for all other enslaved steam mechanica by building flying boots for everyone(YAY!). However, she is caught and whipped until she bleeds to death. An event that reduces all other steam mechanica to fear and despair.

Don't worry, you save the dumb EDIT later... and all they do is block your way the entire time you're in the dungeon.

 

Why are you crying, who is, that is lol. Can you imagine having a 2 handed weapon with so much dmg plus 30%. OMG, that would work for anyone. I would easily go over 1k dmg with a 250% dmg on critic hits i could throw arrows over 5k. Try dodging that lol. We will see how this can match with other armor and weapons. Play first then see. I find the game pretty equal at this point.

 

Longbow Rangers with a shield really get a good deal out of this set. They get massive damage, and a huge boost of block and block damage reduction... oh yea, and an extra 30% Concentration! That with Sargon's bow and 1 or 2 Rings of Inner Fortitude would be a deadly PvE ranger (just doing the math for you, that would be 195 concentration or more if you have a Solstice Star or two).

 

Hmm i dont think rangers can fully utilise this set, the longbow isnt classed as a 'two-handed weapon' in DSO hence only 2/3 of the set bonuses (+block rate%, +concentration%) would work for a ranger. Regardless i believe that this set was made for DKs and any 2h DK using this set would inevitably become a killing machine in both PVP and PVE.

 

For the people who are freaking out, ranger has a different set bonus.
Ranger's set bonus:
+30% concentration
+20% block rate
+10% dmg when using longbow
I'm sorry but this one is totally useless for rangers. Concentration won't be useful when you can't spam them without enough speed. Longbows are slow and 10% dmg isn't OP at all. Block rate only 20% instead of 30%. This set is junk for rangers.

On the other hand, it can prove to be useful for any other class.
massive dmg with block/block dmg (tiny bit but can save butts) Also with the extra travel speed that can come in handy. Extra mana allows more spamming, spawning dwarfs with 30% more steam with a base steam of 120 is just crazy lots of steam. Extra rage actually means you get more rage when opponents hit you as you gain rage = to % of health lost (and a 60% bonus if you choose the talent tree for getting rage when hit). For example, if you get 10% health taken off, you get 10% rage (10 rage regularly). If your max rage is 130 now, you get 13 instead of 10. Dunno if you DKs out there know this but it is actually quite useful

 

10% more dmg or 10% more weapon dmg using longbow?
this is a huge different

 

Yea totally rangers need speed , 10 % more dmg using longbow doesnt make a huge difference as damage per second will still be low. -_-

 

Can't even get on the TS anymore since they put the event there. Euro players never log off anymore while event is in progress. Same error over and over "logininstancefull". Whatever.

 

Rumor has it that you need to craft the Helmets, Pauldrons, and Capes to get the good ones and they are still with variable stats. BigPoint disappoints me with these stupid random stats.

 

And 30% Freaking weapon dmg with 2 handed weapons is not a "huge difference". I guess the world doesn't revolve on logic. Oh, and remember, key word is "longbow", so only for PVE.

At least I can see they drop, and most likely easily considering traki got 2 at a time. Better deal for me unlike the Sargon that never dropped a powerful armor piece after 300 kills. Not like I'm using this set though :\

 

U were saying 10% dmg/10% weapon dmg made no different? I assume u will be comfortable with the “longbow veteran" talent changing to increase weapon dmg since it is no big deal?
Just wanted to know which was the set bonnus,dont know why u were so affended.Read carefully before u post otherwise we cant understand ur logic that being used to resolve problems in ur world.

 

Oh gosh, didn't read that well, but you didn't read my post well as well. "+10% dmg when using longbow". Do you think that is "+10% dmg when using longbow" or +10% dmg after looking at "30% more weapon damage for 2handed weapons". Doesn't matter much to be honest, its both 10% dmg bonus for longbows :\

 

Does it really matter? It's a pure farming event with mediocre rewards. Rave about the useless gear all you want, it's just bad. DSO said they were creating a new event, well here it is, emotes, melt and for the serious P2P, a huge money pit because they will sell the spider at some future date and it'll be a lot cheaper than buying the event.
2 new gear pieces. LOL. What a joke. It's an event designed to benefit one class, the SM only.

 

Set works perfectly fine for DK and SW. The Spider won't be coming back in a shop.

 

And you know this because you're.....? Everything ends up in shop in game. I think the only thing I haven't seen is the bouncing pumpkin 5% HP pet from a very long ago Halloween event.
And not to discuss the "merits" of a DK who chooses to use a 2 hander, or an SW as I personally find speed the most lethal bonus in game, my opinion stands that only SM will benefit as most SM's use 2 hander for the damage and range it provides.
The event is a hurried attempt to introduce more melt into game and add a couple of emotes most player "must have or they'll just die" inventory cloggers.
You have fun with your 2 hander in game lol. When you're damage to speed output against Mortis is just making your group members mad and you keep dying as you have no block then tell me how wonderful the gear is lol.

 

The pumpkin pet, helmet costume. The octopus and skull pet from Sargon never repeated. The green dragon epic mount never repeated as well. I'm guessing they are making it event special for a reason.
You would seriously offend some 2h SW and DKs, guess you never saw those ones play.

 

1. Yes they have said new event is coming ... so this is a new event. Brand new.
2. I would never give up my my dark armor set (which is bought long time ago, almost since every piece was introduces, at a time ... and never bought fragments for dark heart because I got them from progress bar) unless there is new updated version of dark armor set. My whole character is built up around dark armor set and i won't be farming everything from start just to adopt another set.
That means that I won't be using this new set ... but ... this new event is fun, and there will be good melt.
3. It is not true that Halloween pumpkin wasn't at shop... it was ... Gnob was selling it for drakens ... now every noob have it. I agree that some items should never appear in the shop ... if you wasn't in position to obtain them because you was not playing this game at that time ... good ... there are things that new players should not have it... not even bought with money.
4. Underestimating 2H weapons in arena is not good for your health
players who know how to use it are doing fine. My rank is AKOTO ... but it is that way for 1 year, because I don't play much PVP ... which does not mean that I am not good at it. Sometimes I do enter the arena ... and when I enter .. i usually do this:


I never use buffs and I am usually using only green essences ... but on this screen you can see I have used blue essences because those opponents were using buffs(bought for andermants) and we were running out of time so i removed my green essences and put on blue. And yes I am using long bow, and i am F2P.
5. Whoever is buying events I send my big to them
