Please enhance the mouse pointer

I've been playing DSO for nearly three years and have a seasoned Ranger as well as a few alts of different classes. The most frustrating thing in this game for me is the mouse pointer. I've made the changes that the system will allow such as trails and size, but it still gets lost when the graphics get too intense like during a PW large grp fight, which is exactly when you need it most. I grind my teeth when I waste concentration on a skill that zooms past my intended target because I had to "feel" the change from target to target.

Its seems like such a simple thing for the Devs to enhance the mouse pointer in the game or even better give us a choice of pointers. I'd prefer a medium sized targeting circle with color options like a scope site or similar. But would be satisfied with ANYTHING that would stand out in all the explosions/freezes/fire etc. Heck, you can make it look like a soccer ball or a toilet seat and id use it as long as it stands out from the background.

If you use windows go into control panel>mouse>pointer options and check Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key.

 

I think what he means is it would be nice to have a off-color pointer in the game. One that's distinct and can be seen through all the blasts and freezes and such. Which, it would be nice. I lose mine all the time.

I really don't have the time in a thick mob to look down and locate the Ctrl key and than try to spot my pointer. A florescent green mouse pointer would be very helpful. Or what ever color.

 

Yes. Special Color might do it. A little larger wouldn't hurt either. Maybe some targeting cross hairs for the minions would be nice.
Be kind to the vision impaired and those with ancient eyes.

 

This would be a helpful developer enhancement. I can't imagine it would be difficult. I would actually prefer a full cross hair set of lines for veritcal and horizontal. That would actually be more useful. The intersection would be your 'mouse arrow'. The lines would be much like that in Microsoft Visio so that you could judge relative distance with the entire map and npc. Good luck on your request.

 

Yeah, i lose the pointer all the time with pw mobs. Something more distinctive would be appreciated.

 

I used Windows to change the colour of the mouse pointer and the size because i find it so hard to see the mouse pointer when I play DSO but only the size is active in game unfortunately it hasn't really helped me or my dad...he plays too! please could we have in game custom colours a glow, metallic, anything for Drakensang or the ability to import our own? I know is a big ask cos you guys are working super hard to keep the game running smoothly and continuously awesome (hehehe)!!!I would even buy the thing as an extra lol getting to the point where I don't know where I'm firing half the time - esp in a group or with a swarm of enemies....hmmm also possibly I should get my eyes checked but I can see me n dad aren't the only ones

 

Are you crazy....don't put any ideas in there heads about "charging" anything.

I also have issues seeing my cursor while fighting. Many times, I lose track of it since it's blends pretty much seamlessly with the background. It can be hard for me to keep track of mobs and keep the cursor in my peripheral vision. Other that, it's not much of an issue.

 

I just hope DSO gives us the game video option to turn the "Battle Shake" off (in the old forum). It makes my eyes tired of finding mouse pointer. This is from my experience of playing PoE and GW2 free trial.

 

I can never see anything when in a group fight...and sometimes I don't even know how I died...can't see anything.

 

Yes, I agree I have an issue seeing the mouse when the background is maddening with all sorts of mobs and special effects going off. There are even times where I died because I can't see where the mouse is and instead of teleporting away from andermagic/poison meteors flying down, I find myself moving into another pile of trouble instead of a proper open area. That and times where I aimed my own spells at the incorrect area. Thankfully it's not too often but it happens enough that a slight correction to the mouse pointer would greatly improve the group gaming experience.

 

One of my most beloved gripes of the game 'the little lost pointer'. I've complained to BP in the past but nothing ever changed so I'm left to assume they didn't receive my mail. I make no claims as to being a geek but giving the player some options in regards to pointer configuration/visibility would not seem to be a difficult chore. An important subject to many, thank you for keeping it alive.

 

U can try to change your graphic card settings ,if u can, maximizing 3d experience then your pointer actually gets slightly bigger
Dso team should finally address this problem with so many visual effects avi now it is hard for some to have good playing experience

And while I'm whining I'd like to mention what I didn't mention in my earlier post: If u play on a laptop, especially an lower end model such as I play on, the pointer visibility issue is significantly exacerbated.
