I think potion should be banned in battle

Potions basically tip the scales further towards the P2W team, as sacred gems and lvl50 gear, and lvl40 fame mean that they are reducing the incoming damage enough that they survive long enough to make use of the potion at all (so even P2W SWs are a bit squishy to count).

If you're an Ardent Legionnaire with lvl43 gear that you've farmed some gems for, without just giving in and throwing BP a couple hundred euros when ander and jewels are both on sale, then you are going down in 3 fireballs/2 shots/IronBrow&SwashingBlow anyway, and won't even have time to find the damn potion hotkey.

I doubt that's a good mechanic, to be honest, as any feature of gameplay which is a waste of time for any but the very endgame players probably needs a rethink, but it's really not the end of the world.

Maybe reduce potion efficacy in the arena, like essence damage buff is reduced?

 

How about an option to register for either 'PvP Potions', or 'PvP No Potions'?
This could either be in your settings or selectable each time.
I would set it to 'no potions'.

Yep. Plus, if not for PvP, I'd have almost no opportunity to use the 900+ potions I farmed during the last Dragan event. I love ticking people off in 5v5 when they think they have me (the flag carrier) dead to rights and then suddenly I have almost full HP... I get so many hate whispers about those moments.

 

go away with this, and go pick up potions on maps, than use them or not, and stop stupid prop.

I use pots in 5v5. Did I need to tell you this? Nope. I tell you this because it is ridiculous to call it a noob move. It is a smart tactical move.

I use them at specific times for specific reasons. It isn't about guzzling pots to compensate for a poorly built Toon. It is absolutely about properly running a flag under heavy fire while trying to crawl hand-n-knee through stacked singularities. I don't mind anyone using pots, ess, buffs, heckling, magic candles, and lucky rabbit feet. The point being, pots are fine. Get over it.

 

Sure i hear u but what it someone does not have money to buy premium play lotto or buy ess and buffs ? it does not make arena for p2p only ? ,it is ok for those with poor builded char but guy dk with over 9k life fully buffed use pots ,common this too much
Arena in dso is like wild wild west .....those who use any extra should be allocated with less points for battle this apply to me as well ,i use it too cuz i have enough of losing against those who are takin advantage of all extras ...avi in the game .

 

Maybe they need to have a user setting. Ban potions in pvp and only those types will 3v3 with each other. I wonder how hard that would be to implement.

 

Farming pots is easy. You trip over pot drops while farming all the time. Your counter argument does not hold water. F2P and P2P and have-to-P are all on equal footing here.

I used to play without buffs ... and every time I was disgusted when I see heavy P2W field noobs using buffs.
But now I changed my tactics ... i will use anything that is in my disposal ... buffs, essences, pots ... everything.
Like Baragain once said "let them feel the taste of their own medicine".
So now I use all ... and kill them lot more easier.

 

Well not really ,pots avi in pve are different from those avi for ander or gold ,f2p will not enter arena with red even pink or blue ,f2p will not use 3min buffs in a battle i'm talking about every day arena ,when i see tanks running with flags ,buffed and using healing pots plus 7k.... do u think this fair ....my post does hold a water despite what u say ,that is way being f2p is extremely hard in arena and even using a pots farmed in pve will not help
