Suggestion Remove Essences Costume to recognize Essences user

like KHB or event fullmoon or event sargon or anything else, just for recognice the player use right esseces, not just " light essence on the chat" or " i swear to the good, i am use essence silver" , i am not much make group because of this. because i am not trust anyone. better player say the truth, like say " i just use green esse for KHB" but not big deal because can still deal damage. i mean like sargon event, fullmoon event, cristmast event, or anything use special essence , the player doesnt deal damage, just pretend they have essence.
its simple
red essences costume---> red essences user
green essences costume ---> green essences user
silver essences costume ( like taboo NPC) ---> silver essences user

 

Many players don't like costumes. Better would be to change our name colors to corresponding ess equipped. Name in white means none, then blue, purple, red and yellow then for special event ess. But I fear that would be too code heavy and cause massive lag and game crashes permanently. It is DSO after all. When a butterfly farts the game crashes.

With the new title system I think that might be possible. Title changes to show event essence.

 

Also, Greg discussed in the latest twitch that there will be an "gear inspection" feature in the near future. I'd assume that seeing what sort of ess a player is using could fit into that perfectly.

 

1-2 years ago it was possible to notice who is using essences and what kind.
They removed it deliberately ... so i don't think they will change it back.

They can inspect my foot from behind.
My gear is mine and nobody else's business.

 

Idea is good but NOT COSTUMES for god sake.
Just, simple ICON near nickname in group.

Trakilaki, it is sad, but this idea about gear is from players too.
I saw it on my forum, I choosed no, but bp I can see like it and in future they will put it in game.

 

I think players could glow kinda like a breeze behind them or near the back/cloak area, the color of the essence. Like glow green/blue/purple/red but not 100% of the time just occasionally so its not obtrusive.

the key to to prevent being cheated is to invite only friends, strangers are granted to cheat on you sooner or later

 

I think I have an idea that will work. The name of the toon will be the color of the essence they are using. For red essance make the color vastly different than pvp on.

 

I would like this but blue to red essence doesn't work in pvp. If you are only talking about pve, then this would help for bosses, so people can't lie about there essence, personally i have they will never know i rarely have red.

 

Why is it anyone's business whether I am using essences or not? As long as I am working hard to kill the monster/opponent, shouldn't that be enough?

I post on forum whatever I like to ... what gear or setup I am using on particular map or arena is my business. By your statement I guess you don't mind if 200 people come and stick their faces on your windows and watching you and your family 24/7 ... right?

 

Since when are players required to post their weaknesses, to help others defeat them?

Because of silver essence full moon. You could have no essence...

 

Werewolf event. Silver ess or scroll required to damage monsters on that map. Its hard to get groups going because of no ess freeloaders in a group.

Also, freeloaders in a difficult/endboss kill. A 1H DK roped into tanking mortis/destructor with red ess might be annoyed if he has to burn his red stack when some weakish 45 fails at soulkilling due to not using ess. As a result, I decline all mortis requests that don't involve people I know.

 

You have to check their stats, to know when someone isn't pulling their weight? Amazing.

 

Yep, always fun to be in a Khally group and the first couple of kills go well, then they suddenly get slower. Would be nice to identify who decided to be the backpack; just hang on, take advantage of someone else's work, and enjoy the free ride.

 

We do have a never-ending supply of noobs learning the ropes, juveniles that don't know better, and weasels out for an easy meal.

 

Indeed, problem is you need information to figure out which of those options people are. It determines how to respond. I'm fine with new folks, we were all there and the better the mentoring the faster the learning. Youngins have a natural tendency to acclimate and replicate the norm they see displayed from others. Friendly and you get friendly, hate and you get hate. See most threads in this forum for examples. The weasels need public humiliation and a firing squad.
