Desert of Essences Drops Question

So, as of now, there are 2 event items that I don't have- Essence Spout (any color) and Essence Armor (any rarity). How rare are these two drops? B/c I've killed all the beserkers (red included) a number of times and have yet to receive a variation of either of these two items.

Are the drop rates for these items glitched, are the drop rates low, or am I just really unlucky?

 

red essence armor is the hardest thing to find in the event, and i assume that hold true for the lower colors as well. No glitch here, forums are fill with people complaining about this but it is part of the event design.

My experience is this. If you level 20 you have to kill him 40 times to get body. Now I am certain that it is not going to be the same for everyone but I have gotten full set for two toons and that is how it played out for the two that I did. My 3rd toon is still under doing it 2x his level.

 

The what, why, when of drops is a complex issue. Event drops may be programmed to cycle within the event, and events over time seem to have fewer drops. Here are some observations that may be useful:
Generally, the faster the kill, the more damage given, then the better the loot.. But sometimes you get a great drop, when you are not even in the battle! Good teams get better drops, great teams get great drops, no question.
Likewise, if you a light-weight, hiding off to the side, don't expect the legendaries and uniques to drop like rain. Sometimes if your team suffers, you will too. Some players do better solo.
Sometimes you just have to be at the right place at the right time. Conversely, you have no chance, if you are fishing the wrong places at the wrong times.
Some pieces are intentionally rare. Like the Red chest piece, their randomness is programmed into the game, and on a schedule of sorts. Some get it in 2 runs; some do not get it in 150 runs.
The key to finding them may require unconventional thinking and action. (I keep my secrets for my guild.) If it doesn't work, do something else.
