Completely agree, the problem becomes when someone with influence tells the dev's this needs to be fixed, they may make changes even though a more "experienced" player would find a way to make it work. I just hate to see whatever difficulty that has already been built into the new maps be watered down unnecessarily.

right, and try not forget how they take away critical hits or tone them down too.nothing like seeing all ur damage in white(400 damage vs crit hit 2000.) just an example.

Do you honestly think that because of one map and one twitch session
I will run to the developers and tell them to change that?;)

A community manager gathers multiple data sources before any decision is being made.
Any information that I have and share with the players and the developing team is information that has been
either crowd sourced or collected. It is always a mix of quantitative and qualitative data - its not just some random experience
that I had personally in the game. My personal opinion does count as well - but as a professional you can't only rely on your
personal opinion - everything is underpinned with data - how else do you want to become credible?

I simply previewed the maps - the maps are not final at all - also, I do not have the final saying on what gets to stay and what does not.
I can influence it, with valid arguments but not just like that.

The reason why I made the comments that I made in the Twitch session is that I know the designs of the bestiary - when I read that monsters A is supposed to be slow and have a heavy attack but during the preview turns out to have a fast pace and fast attack - well then something ain't right - now innit?:)

Greg, you're awesome:D. I know and understand live casts can be demanding and I personally respect your natural demeanor when you do them. I'm at least partially glad my post touched a nerve though. You are the proxy for the thousands of voices you read here and we want to make sure you have the arguments you need to support us. When I saw the mentioned elements of the twitch session all I could think was, Wait no, please don't dumb it down, thats not what we want.

This expansion offers the most important element one can have with DSO; hope. For the long time players such as myself, we look forward to the challenge of new maps. The opportunity to influence their creation beyond the look and feel into something more creative than higher HP, Armor, and damage mobs is important to us. We respect the complexity of what is trying to be accomplished and hope you will use that influence by carrying the thousands of voices in the community when you go into battle with the dev's and say "NO! MAKE IT MORE CHALLENGING! GIVE THEM SOMETHING DIFFERENT AND NEW TO CONTEND WITH. MAKE MOBS WITH NEW ABILITIES LIKE TELEPORT OR THAT DIG UNDERGROUND AND CAN ONLY BE HIT WHEN THEY SURFACE OR STEAL THEIR WEAPON OR SKILLS> After all it's what they want.:) BTW I picture you standing up slamming your clipboard on the table as you say it. :D We thank you for what you do, even letting us harass you a bit in the process.

I couldn't see anything new during the preview of the content.
Same monsters, just different model. They still use the exact same functions from the code base that are allready written.
    Same maps, different models.
I'm absolutely sure there will be uniqueness in the quest's also. Same stuff - kill 50 mobs, gather 30 quest items, roam and gather 20 quest items. Nothing here also. (This part about quests is pure speculation from my side, but you can trust me that it will be correct)

I can see how new set's will be included in the game. Nothing special, we will just farm for years till we get them, just like before.

Sorry but I simply cannot see anything different from before. The area will feel the same as what we have now. Right after people hit 50, they will get back to PW's. I dont see what will hold them in the new maps, except if there are increased drop rates, which i doubt. Or if BP add's something different, which will require more coding. I can see they have no such new system, else they would state in the twitch.

The content will die soon after it was released, just like the last one that was added.

Yes, it will be upgradable up to level 55. But first you have to grind and replace all the gear since the cost of GoP is to high to upgrade 45 level gear on 55 level

Thanks. Does Keens Set, or Dark armor Set, or other lvl 40 uniques, will continue to be lvl 40 by default? If that's the case, i think those items/sets will become obsolete.

yes, but there is some possibilty they could rework the sets so that level 50 versions can drop in the new maps (for keens) or be bought from gnob (for the dark set)

That'd be a shame. The game needs a shake-up and the best way is with revolutionizing gear sets along with gameplay and maps. Otherwise in a month it feels like we're playing the exact same thing and nothing has changed.

I don't know why the Clawstrider was removed from the content expansion ... it was very cool monster.
I hope you change your mind.

More than new maps, it would have been nice to get (and would be nice) to get the possibility of old maps to get traveled with your level +-5 persons.

E.q. Slifmoor would be nice to play at level 45 :)

It shouldn't be too hard to make that kind of change into engine...

I too am a new player and thankful of the nerf of xp from 40 to 45 since i am currently progressing in that area. It seems like the best way to navigate this issues is a reset of gear, in the sense that bad gear picked up in this new world would be equal to level 45 good gear currently. This means that the older players can have fun getting current levelled gear again and close the gap for newer players to make it even for everyone. They can also release higher tiers of gems and remove drops of fractured or flawed gems to accelerate newer players gem growth rate but also give end game players room to improve as well.

This means older players, who had full use of their old equipment and had fun using at 45 have a leg up in the new world, farming will be easier for them till they start picking up drops around level 47/48 again. They also have a jump start on gems and can still utilities the ones they spent a long time farming over. On the flip side newer players don't feel overly penalised being new, since gems collateral to play time/wallet size (something i like about this game).

I really liked that idea about the puzzle maps. Some easier to implement mob mechanics would be to make melee mobs a dash (dinosaurs would pounce anyway). They already have it to a degree with the Norsemen. Personally I think they should buff melee mob damage and nerf ranged damage a bit. This makes the fight more kite intensive, having to abuse line of sight and maybe having to dodge enraged/combo attacks from melee mobs.

They also currently have mobs that back away from melee characters, giving them a disadvantage and harder to cluster aoe mobs. That is fine but there also needs to be a few mechanics that penalises being ranged and attacking them (hence more gap closing melee mobs). Maybe outside a radius every 3rd attack from ranged mobs has the chance to stun for 1/.5 secs or better yet armour breaks since if they are at range your trying to kite and not take damage, make any damage sustained hit harder.
