When you will become more experienced ... you will learn about the significance of what now looks "useless" to you.

    yup,and its still useless.
wait till guild wars come and suicide bombers are everywhere,10 SW-ssb's with the lag and invisible explosions.
you can't say you've never been annoyed by this. even waiting till they explode can cost u the match.
thats nor experience or skill i wish to see in pvp.

They have been brought up already but seriously. This matchmaking is just wrong. I have good gear all legionary at 40, finding that the games I win are hard fights then you get matched with over level 42 people or centurion plus who can break CC and it's just not a contest any more. Currently we have a system where the incentives to climb in fame does not outweigh the hours your cannon fodder. Let's face it, its just not a fun experience and this is a game to be enjoyed.

Please merge server groups, (middle step is merging region groups like EDIT did years ago to make party finder better). Great that they added Xp to pvp but bring that more in-line with xp in the real world say 65/70% of mean xp gain/hour so it's harder to twink (can add an xp modifer for 3v3 if twinks group with higher level players it drops down to around 10/20%) and is also a viable way to actual level if you prefer pvp.

Not sure if they do that already but assign people a hidden gear score combined with an algorithm for passed win rate dopplered with level +/- 4.

Doing these things means you increase you pool of competition but streamline the constraints so queue times should not be effected. Therefore making more games an enjoyable competitive match rather than (what I find with my games where 70%+ of the games are a steam roll either way). This would make it more enticing for newer and disgruntled players to play more pvp increasing your player base even more and generally improving the overall experience.

It's not all about the gear, skill and tactics make a difference too. Some of the best players play the opponent's class and experience, or play the layout of the map, or both. It is amazing to see some players defeat themselves. If you can foresee the future, you will always win.
Repetition is a teaching tool. Learn from winners. If a strategy doesn't work, change it up, do something else.

That is why win rate should is why needs to be taken into account for match making to be effective. (player level, fame level, gear level, win rate). The win rate takes into account players talent when the other 3 are properly brought to bare.

if they are going to improve the matchmaking algorithm I am not sure why you would omit the other 2. As stated, people can have great gear at low levels, and if you only run it off fame level then run into issues by reducing your pool of match players since it would have the rest would enable unskilled players with farmed fame to be matches with lower fame players and vis-versa. As for gear level, its easy enough do by ranking the items of the % of potential max stats decreased proportionally with the growth stat of that item relative to the number of levels away from the players current level. Since you cant view players equipment in this game it would all be hidden from view ofc.

Win rate is already taken into account too much. Successful players often sit on the sidelines, watching others get the matches. How would you like to sit out for a few hours (or a few weeks) because you have a habit of winning?

    Aw, come on, buck up!

Concentrate on what you don't have, and you'll never have time to find what you do have.

Looking at this tells me you didn't get good advice from in-game friends. You had two options that would have worked out well for you. Option 1 is to go and get full, if not, seasoned Centurion prior to Level 40. Option 2 would be to forgo PVP till you are level 45. As it stands right now, you in one big fat bucket of hodge podge toons. If this was my DK, I would stop PVP immediately until you are 45.

As it stands right now, you are in for a world of frustration.

Well, those are fun odds. Since your a SW, you did have the option to blow up a lot on the enemy and took home some fame points. Usually in a match as unbalanced as this, the system will 'plop' random Toons on to your side during the match. The reason you are in a 5(6)v1 is that the red team is grouped and the grouped blue team that was supposed to oppose them denied the match at the last second. How do I know this? Easy. The red side has 5 players in a 6v6 match.

I don't think a Legionnaire would have the option to blow up.

Ya, you are right Bargain. There is always the classic temper tantrum followed with mouse slammed on desk. I am curious if this match played out completely as 6v1. From my experience, registered Toons will populate into the match as it progresses.

But still, with the 1v5 starting in favor of the attackers, unless they added to the defensive team really fast and with some seriously OP players, they would have stood even less of a chance than usual.

Check this 3v3 match guys.Just when i thought it couldn't get worse this happened. I am not blaming the dk (ardent koto),i am just ..... . :( idk . it was a suicide -_- xd.

Hmmm. Let's do some silly math. An Ardent KOTO (Fame 40) is at 1,450,000 fame points. If you are currently a Novice Centurian, you are around 140,000. So you have roughly 1 million Fame points to go before you level the playing field. Your score above with PVP Mentor Bonus was 466. That would mean you need to eat humble pie approximately 2,000 more times. If you set yourself a disciplined quota of 50 humble pie matches per day, you will be functional equivalent to the top level fame talents in 40 days.

My advice is simple; set a personal daily quota, be disciplined, and don't worry about anyone else except improving your situation.

After reading years of these sob stories, it really comes down to folks not seeing the big picture. Think long term. Think big. Don't worry so much. Have fun.

You CAN do this. How do I know? Countless other people do it every single day. :)

    P.S. Tissue enclosed
