Upgraded to windows 10 and now getting this error message when trying to play....

    Edit to add:

Apparently Windows 10 has some known issues with audio after upgrade. Uninstalling the sound driver and then updating solved the issue. Got to love new technology.

You should have read the reviews ... you would have known that almost no one will use windows 10. It is a pure ultimate crap.

I tested windows 10 on my previous retired laptop that was buggy under windows 7 and found things to be generally improved and more stable for gameplaying. Only one piece of software was broken but it did not affect the OS or any games including the drakensang client (it was the bluray playback on cyberlink powerdvd 10, dvd playback was fine).

That being said, I would still wait a month or two at least, if not more, for upgrading to windows 10 as I am sure flaws will be found.

I've been using windows 10 with the game for few days. On initial load; had a sound driver error which required me to dump the driver and reload it, and had a small graphics glitch that reset screen resolution. The game itself was jumpy and pinged around and was loadable but unplayable. Upgraded to Directx12 and got the new driver for my NVIDIA and the game is smooth at the moment on max settings. Runs better than it has in a long time.

Once I got past the audio bug from upgrading to 10, the game play has never been smoother.

Yes that is what I was talking about. There is no reason to upgrade to OS that is not tested yet (except if you want to test it). And of course I am not talking about gaming ... gaming is not the main feature in any OS.

Yeh definitely don't upgrade to 10 again, 10 is basicly 7 and 8 but put together but if you don't need touch screen then you didn't really need to upgrade especially since you probably already had 7, also Flash player has just lost it's credibility and same for Java too because it's not safe... so they have been told to stop making any more Flash versions, Firefox and Chrome have pulled out so games and other websites have yet to switch back to using the regular internet platform to go on them and play their games, Drakensang definitely needs to and it makes the game very unstable, so... id go back to 7.
