    It hasn't been like this in over 3 years... however, unless you do very specific testing, it is hard to notice because many people's armor and resistance are close enough that the difference is only noticeable under controlled circumstances or in the case of the extremes.

    Here is an example of how it works.

    Say you have a SW who's fireball does 1k damage. 500 damage of that will be effected by resistance and 500 damage of it will be effected by armor. Lets say you have 70% reduction from armor, but only 20% reduction from resistance. If resistance were the only thing that effected fire damage, you'd receive 800 damage from the fireball. However, because of the split, you only take 1000-(500*0.7+500*0.2)=550 damage. The difference of 250 damage in this example would likely be noticeable because we are looking at two extremes.

    Now lets take a more common example... less extreme. You have 45% resistance and 60% armor. Resistance only would tell us you'd take 550 damage, but the 50/50 split would tell us that you'd take 1000-(500*0.45+500*0.6)=475. This is a difference of only 75 damage and is much less noticeable unless experimented on under very controlled circumstances.

    If you doubt me, find a SW friend. Have them remove their weapon so that their damage is a single number with no min and max. Then, have them hit you with a fire ball. Then remove a piece of armor that has no diamonds in it and no resistance lines. You will see the damage increase. Then repeat this experiment with lightening. You will notice that the damage does not chance. If it has indeed changed after R155, that will be an interesting development as it is a major change to the damage mechanic for elemental damage and is a revision of over 3 years of status quo.

    EDIT:
    Just tested with a SW friend and the mechanic has not changed. Fire is still split 50/50 and Lightning is still only effected by resist.
    BTW, if you were curious, if you had 50% resist and 50% armor, then the hit would simply be reduced by 50% over all. :p

    I have a question to the CM's or anyone with information about it:

    There was some talk about giving the moon event unique items a makeover. I understand that the team has other priorities at the moment and that is fine.

    I just would like to know if that is still a plan for the future and if yes, when this might happen?

    I can confirm this statement regarding PS and fireball's description not being accurate.
    Precision shot is 75/25 (physical/fire)
    Fireball and Meteor is 50/50 (physical/fire)
    Destruction 25/75 (lightning/physical

    One could test it easily and it's even written in the client's database.

    Concerning mob resistances: As far as I know, all mobs do NOW have 50% of everything. Pre 155, mobs didn't event have poison resistances, one reason why the thorn thicket's explosion damage was op and actually did pure 300% damage, not being reduced by any resists.

    This thread is such a mess, idk how anyone can keep track of this. I would like to see patch notes for all releases, including hotfixes please. There has been some speculation that crafting has now been changed.

    Also, will the lortac shop and the premium shop be updated such that if you are level 50, you can buy a lvl 50 lortac weapon or premium weapon (the ones that cost 3k gold).

    This is available for everyone, always has been, isn't hard to find. This contains all of the information the CMs can tell us about future updates, including what you think you heard about crafting, which was just a rumor, nothing has been done and no detailed information has been given. If you're only looking at this thread for updates about the game, then I suppose it would look like a mess, because it wouldn't tell you much of anything, it's a Q&A thread, not a universal guide. As for the premium shop and merchant in Yaltpetl, I wouldn't expect anything awesome to come out of either of them.

    @IDnotfound Thanks. The roadmap has not been updated in months. There have been 3 or 4 hotfixes since the last patchnote, there was even a patch today. Things hardly ever go according to plan, so its still guess work to figure out what has and has not been changed.

    Dear Dev, please please please, when you run your scripts tomorrow to give us our glyphs back, make sure you covered the use case of some of those items being upgraded after the the r155.

    Spam stuns is what it is all about
    PVP is a joke it is beyond annoying now you are driving the players away !!!
    As for the PW's and making them as good as HOD you can't because what decent developers you had have left the building and the developing team you now have is probably rejects from other games
    Sick of this shit arse game

    Main reason the developers love the "twinks" or "Mentors" is that they already know there main has spent a heap of $$$ so they look after the twinks to get more cash
    Good buisness policy bad for game
    And if you have not figured it out DSO is only in it for the profit not the players

    Yes, you are correct. I have tested it again. I must have made a mistake earlier. Fire damage is reduced 50% by armor and 50% by resistance while Lightning and Ice damage is only reduced by Resistance and Magic missile only by armor.

    From the description in the character window, the critical hit rate (percentage) applies to opponents OF THE SAME LEVEL.
    I suppose the rate would decrease against characters of higher levels.
    As lvl 45s go against lvl 50s in PvP (and those have not only more damage, but also more HP), I think there is no advantage in remaining on lvl 45.
    Personally, i still have 2 of my 3 chars staying on lvl 45 and doing PvP just and only because one of them has virtually no space in the quest log and needs to finish the lava dog quest before he can reasonably do questing in Lor'Tac :p.

    Dear Haruki, do you and Dev Team already recognize that the low level legendary issue was not addressed. This release even made it worse. Some people were OP because of those items for more than a year, now you want us to wait another year? Please clarify.

    Or, you want us keep writing here, and also spamming support?

    As you said, new items 'have potential of being better'. I claim this is inaccurate, they do not. But I would not be okay even if you gave us that potential. I want any level item be better than low legendary of corresponding level by default. Because low leg was of a max stats by default. You feel the difference?

    The chance of getting 4 lines OP adornments were 1/81*100%. So you craft 81 items and you are good. Much less if you were okay with the damage line. And you are now 350+ per crit line.

    Assuming lvl50 legs can reach 400 per line, like low lvl ones, it is still impossible to get them. Because, we don't only need to fight the 1/81*100% chance, but also to fight against chance of having each individual line being max. What is the chance of that? 1/256*100% or less? So the chance to get one of those dream adornments 0.0048%. You feel the difference? And low crafting was free!

    You recognize the problem? Or you want us keep writing and keep being frustrated.

    Crit lines should start at 300, or let's say 250 at lvl50, and max around 500. So all the low legs are irrelevant and will be replaced.

    Perhaps even more than 500. It looks like items cannot reach more than 80% of their max power, right?

    That level 50 weapon adornment you can see above is even WORSE than the ones we used to get at level 45... but surely items level 50 'have potential of being better'... so we were informed. Please make adjustments in new items so that players can reach that 50% critical hit value with their shields equipped... tho' I get a funny feeling that instead of doing that ...it is the veterans (or at least a handful of them that are still around in this game) that could have their low level legendary items nerfed...then nobody will be able to make that 50% and nobody will ever complain...just perhaps leave the game for good being used to playing with high level of critical hit value. Well...we shall wait and see what happens next.
