I have had a person tell me in game that a ball is better for a SW than the book because block strength is more inportant than the crit bonus from the book.

    Is this so?

It depends. If you are soloing, you might want the ball. If you are in a group, you might want a book if you are behind some tanks.

Use an orb if there's a lot more incoming damage. Use a book when there's hardly any.

... or use a 2h all the time and forget to switch gear. XD

I have gear sets for my mage. I have a tank set for when I do events like the new moon. For killing Sigris or Gorga I am not tanking so I use damage and speed gear. The tank I use a ball. I try to keep my blockrate at 80% and I try to keep my block strength above 70%. The latter is the hard part. For the damage set I try to get a book with only crit value. I have a helm with a crit value % but also have the new moon set.

I'm pretty lazy with gear switching, mostly because I don't remember to put things back the way they were before I switched. So 2h is good for me. XD

That's okay! I have known peeps that always put things back the way they were, and they always end up with, um, extra parts!:p:D
