This is very useful for FPS, not as much much for an action-RPG or MMORG.

I had tried changing my mouse pointer to a black one but when playing the game, DSO changes it back to a white mouse pointer. If I moved the mouse off the game, it went back to black.

I just started playing and also found that I had trouble keeping track of the mouse cursor.

While I agree an built in solution would be a good thing, if you are on the Mac, there is a program called PinPoint which might help:

Here's what my cursor looks like now:

I'm bumping this thread because I THINK  it got missed by the devs.

And seeing how important it is to a majority of people and how irritating it gets in the middle of fight, I figure we'll give it a round 2

Cautiion!!!! Although i respect your solution and thought of the same approach, modifying anything in the game script or running attached programming may get you flagged as it violates TOS. Not saying that will, but it was concerning enough for me to avoid the option.

I have considered something very similar. Would never advocate it, but as a curiosity project I've thought about trying to locate the pointer resource file and examining it on a computer that I don't normally play on with with an account made particularly for tampering in the off chance BP detected the fiddling. I doubt they would be able to though, because from a coding stand point, changing the pointer resource would look indistinguishable from a simple corrupted file. Worst thing I'd imagine would happen is that DSOClient.exe would just download a new copy of the file if it failed a hash check or something.

I use a big screen and needed a bigger cursor. I found a program called EDIT and it works well when too much is happening on the screen..

Dude are you renting a movie theater so you can play the game ... I mean look on the size of that cursor. :p

Yes, it's a bit big. I was trying out the cursor on something else at the time. The size could be changed. What you see is the max size the cursor could handle. I think it still could be on the small side for a 40 inch monitor I am thinking of getting.

Here's a related issue, here with pointers for lack of a better location.

Several of us high-volume players keep burning up mice while playing DSO. Replacement costs could be used to buy premium or andermant instead.
The industry standard is about 100,000 clicks per life of the mouse. Gamer mice go more like 1,000,000 clicks/life, with tighter tolerances and better responses. Some have assignable buttons as well.

    1. DSO could pick up essences for us automatically, just like it does coin or wisdom. It's not likely that essences will be thrown away, after all. Auto pick-up would improve play as well.
    &/or
    2. Perhaps Razor or some other promotional partner would like to offer mice and other prizes during the Christmas season?

P.S. Better mouse pointers is still a good idea.

Guess there are multiple ways to change the cursor without actual modification of their libraries) even though such a mod would be also easy. They cannot restrict me from changing the mice behavior. Even if they try to detect such a change on a driver layer, such detection would be illegal. Since they are using default cursor we are safe to do whatever we want.
