I have just become level 33 and the Parallel World quests are now available. I thought they would be like any other quest, but no. Get 500 this or 500 that. It would make it easier if the monsters were normal, but 2 of the can one shot someone! It needs to change. I shouldn't have to have 5 people with me to progress!

there are different ways to get stronger to easily solo parallel worlds.

    check out this thread.
Disclaimer: Fully immersing yourself into that thread could cost you half your fortune. That's how we roll tho. We have invested more into this game than we would on our wives.

There are other ways also of finding nooks and crannies to hide and shoot if u are a ranged class, but ultimately if u wanna solo all maps check out above link.

Also this one, the witch chaser/warlord set, ring of death etc might be of particular interest to you depending on ur class and preference.

My recommendation is to level up to at least 45 and ideally 50 first. Then get a gear set of some sort - such as 4 pieces of level 46 tayaz set with farmed anders on a sale, witch set from new moon, red ess set from desert of essences if it comes back or at least 3 pieces of armor of darkness (farm events for draken and gettravel pass to gnob). Then try PWs.

As the others have said, it is hard when you just get there unless you spend crazy money. They were originally designed to be "end game" content, but then some developer had a brilliant idea and opened them to LVL 30+. Unless you have some powerful friends or a deep wallet, you will most likely need to wait until you are 45-50 before you will be able to step foot in there and be anywhere close to being able to hold your own in a team, let alone solo.

This being said, there is a PW redesign in the works that should be here R158/159... who knows what changes that will bring. One guess has said multiple difficulties with different quality of the drops. Time will tell.

Is the parallel world hard (assuming solo)? Yeah, it is meant to be hard. But is it so hard that they need to make it easier? No, absolutely not. Parallel world is supposed to be end game content, and end game content is something you are supposed to spend time and work towards. It shouldn't be a walk in the park or people will long have quit the game due to boredom.

And it doesn't matter what level you enter parallel world, the difficulty will be adjusted to your level. For example, just watch my F2P spellweaver breeze through the first parallel world on test server:

Now admittedly, you DO need adequate equipments and skills to be able to survive in the parallel world, and again, both require you to invest a lot of time to obtain.

IMHO, they need to rework the increased difficulty in groups system, not to reduce the parallel world difficulty.

Oh one last thing, a long time ago (2-3 years ago?) parallel world was hard. But then it was also the most enjoyable time of my entire DSO experience because it actually required a lot of teamwork to be able to complete a parallel world run. Things like having the entire group communicate on Teamspeak, analyzing the attack/spell patterns of each elite/boss monster and carefully timing our stuns in a staggering pattern. Those were the good times...(DEATHINC!)

Compared to the early DSO days, the current parallel world is a joke.

Too hard? You should have played it few years ago ... when the PW was a real challenge unlike today.

Maybe when you had to kill mortis to unlock places like grimmerstone then now you would see how much nicer it is.

Honestly if your are getting your level as fast as you can and still have level 15 gear when your near 40 I can see this as being impossible for you. Suggestions are to obtain better gear get as close to 80% armor and block rate as you can. Try to obtain greater than 2k damage at 40+.

Killing Mortis never was a requirement for unlocking the Q1-Q5 (grimmagstone Q1)
Q6 and Mortis were introduced in the game ... much later.

When i reach PW (about lvl 37-38) i felt the same as you. Too hard. What did I do?

1 - Bought premium service to respawn inside map
2 - Accepted that i would die a lot till I build a better gear
3 - Started for the very first time in this game , to use the terrain on my favor.
Means u have to learn to hide urself , bring some mobs to u and make others reset till u get ready to face the map with no troubles.

Note: Start it as fast as you can , i do believe it will be harder after the rework.

    GL! :)

    You may be right.

They may have nerfed the essences, but then the re-worked wisdom tree allows us to gain much more damage than before. This is exactly the reason why the current parallel world feels like a joke. I remember when the parallel world used to be hard, the maximum % damage option on a weapon was 15% and we could only add 1 slot to any item no matter how many slots it had before.

I can also clearly remember when this ranger called Daytora would show off his godly stats with Herald's unique longbow, yes if you had a base damage of 500 or more, you were probably better than 99% of the players.

I'm not saying it is bad that bigpoint raised the cap on our stats. In fact, it may be necessary if bigpoint wants to keep generating revenue from DSO. It is just the way it is.

For some reason I just remember you could access all of PW just no quest reward. Then seas od shadow came out and you had to complete all the quest line to access halls of the dead and start weapon of end time. I just maybe remembering wrong and what not but once watery grave came it seemed like you could access only 1 pw map at a time and Ammon was placed in the maps.

well i tell ya something. a long time ago i was a low level could not farm even grim. i was furious that i was so weak. i got to lv 43 and at that time i was average not what you guys can get today in r157. low lv are more powerful as the drop rate for legs is 50% better. so back then was crazy hard to become great without any ander. i practiced day after day soloing grimm, ocean and hod, although it took me forever i was successful with using my skills being villagent. using corners doing the pull method anything to achieve my goal. was not easy back then. as for what i just said. anyone and i mean anyone can solo any PW. takes time but you will learn how to become great. doing this alone is what i recommend for players to get a understanding of how to properly play. when time for a group you will know exactly how to perform. as for me. i want a HARDER PW.
