    Haruki, please... what is wrong with... me.

    Please forget about tooltips for a minute. Imagine there is no tooltips. Now, rollback to r154 or before that. Experience tree was changing our absolute damage right away, so if you had 1000 base dmg, you would get 1300 thanks to a lvl 30 tree. And then, this new value of 1300 was used to apply all the other % based attributes like essences or set bonuses. Dummy example with blue would give you 2600 pre r155.

    On the other side, now, with r155, it works like you said and it is crystal clear it works this way. You have base dmg of 1000, and experience tree doesn't add to absolute dmg right away, but adds to other % based attributes that apply on top of 1000. Same dummy example with blue would give you 2300 now, post r155, instead of 2600.

    Because it is now lvl50, not 30, and because there are lots of other %bonuses, it is much much worse than in my dummy example.

    You feel the difference? It is a huge loss of effective damage, even if there is no essences used. Please tell me you understand that question. Or, perhaps, someone else could explain that.

    I thought someone said that blue essence actually functioned like it did now, but we never really noticed because of the smaller % bonuses at play.

    Only for the sake of clarity, you should not merge the concepts of needed realm fragments to enter and needed amount of fairy wood to complete the New Moon event.
    Even in the old/classic version, the amount of time and grinding to PREPARE the new moon event is totally UNBALANCED respect to full moon to collect the required silver essences.

    So these were 2 distinct points: please consider them in a separate way.
    Now i'd like to know if you or devs are aware of the differences between the 2 events, and i would be satisified if you can explain why the pre-farming (fairy wood for new moon and silver essences for full moon) are so UNBALANCED.

    After this, we can continue to discuss in terms of BALANCING, since you said that balancing must be kept in mind. Always. :cool:

    Essences yes. 30% from experience tree no. They where shown in the character window right away.

    Are you 100% sure? :)

    Nevertheless, it is a major effectiveness drop. And it is inconvenient to change %dmg torso to dmg torso depending on essence used. It just doesn't make any sense.

    Blue essence being less than 40% more effective than green makes even less sense.

    Hi Haruki. You often talk about balancing in the game. Why its possible now that for example red Essence 300% work in open maps vs Players? You want that people buy more essence for Kingshill Arena ? Or why u change that?Simply a money decison?

    Open PVP is not compulsory.
    Open arenas are for testing ... not for farming honor points.
    Gaining honor points should be removed from open PVP ... only official matches should award the players honor points.

    Have you all not figured out by now its not about our toons balance but their checkbook and bottom line... all they want is for us to spend more money for a little bit of damage/hp whatever to make us think we are getting better but no sense in spending cause if you do they will just keep changing things so we go forward 1 step and they push us back 5...........

    then whats the point with the red pvp above our heads when we switch from pve at the npc?
    now i'm gonna see everyone as a tester and not a pvp'er lol
    i just want points for Dishonorable kills,and a title that says "OutLaw" ;)

    I don't know I never do open pvp ... ask BP.
    You don't need essences for dishonorable kills. :p
    It sounds like a good idea to me ... "Twink Killer" - 1.000.000 dishonorable kills.

    Indeed. The main Skinner box and all the event Skinner boxes shall be tweaked eternally with one hardened goal in mind, and it ain't to benefit players.

    For myself, I play as little of the game as possible. This minimizes annoyance and frustration, whilst I quest happily in my wee world of solo PVE.

    I would be happier if no more development time was spent on CV, you can't polish a turd. Will the keens/Roshan/Sparks set be craftable to tier 2?

    I saw in Patchnotes 144

    That

    Tone Down Essences in PvP
    Based on the community’s feedback, we decided to make PvP fairer and more appealing. That’s why we made the following changes:
    Essences of Combat (blue), Essences of War (violet) and Essences of Destruction (red) don’t provide any bonus damage against players anymore.

    These essences can no longer be consumed in PvP arena battles, so you can keep them equipped and don’t have to unequip them before signing up for a PvP match.
    These essences can still be consumed in the open PvP world, since you could hit players and monsters at the same time.
    Red/blue/violet essences in open PVP: They can be consumed but won’t inflict damage to other players. However, they will still increase damage against monsters in open PvP zones.

    Essences of Aggression (green) are unaffected and provide their normal damage against players and monsters everywhere.



    WHY U DONT DO WHAT THE COMMUNITY WANTED??? Why u make it possible that essence work again in open maps??? Just for money? You should look for other ways to get money...but not do what the community not wanted! We want that Essence not work in Open maps and PvP Arena. Make it useless again!!!

    Jeez, the spamming queen is back :/ For me it's ok, they don't work in any real PvP-games so np for me... I agree with Traki on the fact that open PvP shouldn't be rewarded by honor points...

    Why would people play real PvP-games when they can 'farm' their honor points by far more easily in open maps?

    Surprisingly enough, the low lvl, lower rank ranger made more hits than the higher ranked, higher lvl warrior. :D:confused:

    Yeah the thing is: That ranger shouldn't be in that PvP game :p


    But I think, as burn won't affect the Life-Keeper after R159, balance will be better... We'll see :3
