what difficulty? normal, hard or extreme?

Is this staff worth upgrading? I like the % damage but, boy, that seems like an awful lot of glyphs.

I bet you will find better one soon, of level 50. Upgrading is not an issue, you can always melt it if you found a better one.

But the answer is simple math. Compare the gain per 1M of glyphs spent. What gives you more, that many glyphs to get the staff to next level or whatever other item to the next level divided by the glyphs you spend.

11M to get 40 dpi or or 2M glyphs to get 8 dpi. 2nd option is better in this example.

Additionally, cheaper upgrades, even if less profitable are lower hanging fruits and you will start enjoying benefit sooner. So I would rather upgrade other items first, especially if they have comparable gain per glyphs spent. Unless of course I have tons of glyphs from melting some older item.

Theoretical highest crit you could get from 3x lines of crit is 1122, and 793 is about 70% of the max. Factor in bad luck and the fact that this was not a drop from fatal and I was presently surprised. And the Crit damage max is 26% on an off hand, so only missing that max by 3.64% is not too bad. Finally, with 3 slots, it isn't crazy to considering adding slots in the distant future.

 

Most recent boss farming setup on Green, skip the defensive stats. Item selection is different in case blue and above essences.
