    Hey there,

So i've noticed, since the release of the new Parallel Worlds, that the game is becoming once again random-based. This is so annoying. The obvious two cases are PW boss drops (uniques) and the Jesters.

This is really annoying and is disrespecting players' effort. Farming bosses all day, not getting a single unique. Betting 10k ander - not a single clove, just blue ess (i got 100k+ dont need more) and kabooms'. Why not randomise your employees' paychecks? At the end of the month they either get paid or not. Yeah, great idea.

I liked how the game was going after r155. Guaranteed drops from the mini-bosses, now each miniboss in PW drops a pink item, balor drops a guaranteed leg item. Excellent. After releasing materii fragments and announcing that 'this would be the end game currency' i was again in awe. However, it turned out NOT to be true. you cant do anything useful apart from teleporting with the frags. Why can't i buy the grimmag set for 200k frags? I can farm that in 2 months right?

Just remember what did players farm at lvl 45. M2. Why? Guaranteed, non-random based drops. We want that. At least i do.

So, I have had enough of the random-based gaming, and decided to take a short recess from the game. Untill the issue is resolved I will not play very much. If i wanted a lottery I would go to a gambling store.

Let me know if anyone else feels the same way.

map2 still gives guaranteed, non-random based drops. You always get a extraordinary at each mini-boss.

Dude please read the message fully before you reply. I've farmed 200k ander and 60m glyphs in Q3m1 due to the guaranteed drops.

I am talking about the recent changes and the direction the game is going to.

I think people have rose colored glasses with respect to pre-R155 pve - I think the pve game is better now. (PVP is another story).

At the moment, there are quite a few decent pve sets and items for players to grind their way to - the armor of darkness set (farm the crap out of the moon events for 800 draken a month and other events for maybe another 4000 drakens a year and you can have the full set whenever gnob comes around); the gnob weapons; the tayaz level 46 set (only 12000 to 20000 anders needed to farm), and the ammon set (7500 or 10000 materi frags). None of those are endgame dominating sets - but if they were, this game would be even more boring, as it would be over as soon as those sets are obtained.

I do wish the untouchables items could be bought for frags again, though.

I've always thought DSO was quite unstructured compared to the other games I'd played. Getting used to that was a big adjustment for me, and I've since learned not to expect much. I farm for coins and glyphs. Any actually useful E/L item that's dropped I consider a kiss from Crom.

The randomness argument is just smoke and mirrors, a diversion and misdirection manufactured by BigPoint to excuse their drop decisions. Everyone knows BigPoint chooses what will drop and how often. The process may use a pseudo random number generator to deliver the goods, but that PRNG is programmed to distribute their choice of items according to a predetermined, average schedule.
What may appear to be luck for 1 player is actual certainty for players as a group. What drops and how often are programmed in, a function of design (with or without forethought). They are no more random than payoffs at the roulette wheel, or a stacked deck of cards at a blackjack table.

BigPoint has reduced their process control even farther than before, and play is even more sloppy as a result. It steadily gets worse on several levels.

Anyone think they will not run the game completely into the ground, and drain the last drop of money out of it?

While I agree that pve is better than before, that isn't the argument the op was making. He was talking about randomness in boss drops and jesters.

I can't say if the randomness is any worse than it was or not, so far it seems about the same as it has always been .... just bad.

This "drop talk" is beginning to sound more and more like EDIT issues! I left that game because EDIT just can't make up their minds. That and they completely ruined the game.(as far as I'm concerned).

So far, this game I find takes forever and a day just to level up to 50. Then you have to worry about drops once you reach said target. A "insert money in game" plot perhaps?
I will give you this, there's no "Goldbot sellers" spamming the chat nor maps cluttered with them!
So as the old say goes, tit for tat.
We get bad drop rates while other games don't... ok, but hell, let them keep their bots and spammers!
