Maybe I'm complaining about my armor because , there is no elemental resistance that protects against "frost" unless its another elemental resistance. But the thing that annoys me the most, is how much damage it does and how many mages are spamming that skill, there are 90% of mages that are lvl 50 using that skill and to be honest its really annoying, like..... they have other skills don't they ...? or are they too bad with another skill .........?????

I do not know what kind of mages you play against but the ones I play with/against do use lots of other skills such as Magic missile, Fireball, Frost wind, Frost Nova, Teleport, Frost Wind, Watchman, Destruction, Singularity and Mind Control. I think that is plenty of skills. They use Frozen Sphere more because its a more efficient source of damage than other skills and also because other skills have cooldowns. Before R155 they used Fireball in PvP and Lightning strike in PvE because they did not have cooldowns and were more efficient source of damage then.

I do not think there is anything annoying about Frozen sphere skill. It is a little slower, does not do much damage in close range, takes 50 Mana to cast a single one and requires a certain range/s for the maximum damage. It is much more easier to dodge (unless you're bad ;) ) than a Fireball and is thus compensated with more damage. Elemental skills do hurt a lot. For instance, my hunting arrow (on ranger) does damage ~ 2-4.5k to other players depending on their resistance level. But you would be surprised to know that it is only 66% of my total damage. How I do that much damage is because it is a fully elemental damage, meaning, its not taking your armor into consideration.

If you do not want to take damage, then build more resistance instead of complaining. Find ways to change yourself to adapt with the game instead of trying to get the game to change itself for you.

    You mean they would've gotten...
    and fixed it? :p

    Shocking.

Obviously it's just an ISP problem.

Basically, the way this persistent Error 23 problem is being handled right now is just disappointing. Especially how it's been dismissed repeatedly as various "client side ISP problems" by the very people who are supposed to be fixing it. For two months.

An additional couple of weeks of error 23 messages and the silence is deafening.

Maybe when Youzu Interactive buys the game they'll listen.

Um. Did I mention the HP? I don't remember mentioning the HP. Guess I must have misread my own words, thanks for letting me know that Justice gives HP! Omg I never would have known!

OR.... Maybe I know it gives hp, I have had 4 of them drop for me and one is nearly perfect HP increase, BUT I also know that You can only reach max block rate with that shield by using "Mobile Fortress" and with full Warlord set. Oh wait. It STILL does not reach max block rate. Therefore, Justice is a junk shield. The HP increase is great! Spending 10 points on mobile fortress that could be huge hp% gains anyways, losing 5% travel speed, being pigeon holed into Warlord helm? Not so great.

Take a legendary shield with 2 lines of block rate and 2 lines of block strength, or Heredur's shield, you are getting somewhere. Save your 10 points, put them into HP, and you can easily have max block rate with only the Warlord shoulders, opening up options like Heredur's helm, helm of darkness, or hell, even that elusive 60% crit rate legendary everyone has been searching for.

So, even though I did not mention the HP on Justice whatsoever, only pointing out the very important fact that the lack of block rate far outweighs any other stat the shield has, I decided to explain to you just what I was insinuating with that statement. I really need to learn to not be vague around children, they really need it spelled out for them, I guess.

    Hope you understand now.

I tried one of their bugged games a while back, but I don't know if they will completely ignore players the way bigpoint has? I'm hoping not, but I guess time will tell.

If nothing else, maybe they'll figure out that giving players the ability to actually sign in and play would help. I'm sick to death of this stupid error 23 bug.

Well, as far as I remember the enchantment "all resistance values" includes fire, lightning, posion, ICE and andermagic, try the wiki dude, or some FAQs and Tutorials before talking.

    This explains a lot :D

In the end all that matter is your effective hp, you did not read the word effective in my post i guess.

All your resistances and blocks increase the amount of damage you can take before you hit the ground, in other words they extend you HP pool (virtually) thats what effective hp means.

And no i was not mentioning the HP on the justice , i was just mentioning that according to the calculations that baragain did, justice provides the quite a high increase in your effective hp.

    and please LEARN TO READ!

Static and I don't see eye to eye on a great many subjects which is why we both generally ignore each other.

But, in this case, because of a simple math error early on in my equations Static is correct. I'll update the entire shield post later today.

To everyone who depend on my math, in I'm sorry. I'm only human and I am glad there see others who are smart enough to catch it when I make a mistake.

After just a preliminary look, it MAY be that a 1/1/2 or a 1/0/3 may still be better than a 2/2 when used with full warlord, but I'll be able to say that as a matter of fact later after I fix my Excel sheet. However, I can say unequivocally that you need at least one strong % rate line, and this does indeed disqualify Justice.

I am sorry to say Baragain, but your calculations are good, but it doesn't paint the full picture.
Think of the following which invalidates any calculated data:

    1. HP has a special advantage in PvE, where you regain 1% every second. Also, health globes provide a percentage. This way, the more HP you have, the better you will be.

    2. Shield block rate and block strength has an even more advantage in PvE, because you are not just blocking one creature, but all. If there are 10 creatures hitting you, the more block you have is far more advantageous to you than your HP.

I agree with you about the question of prioritising armor/resistance/block over absolute HP.
However, EFFECTIVE HP is exactly about taking these into account for the total damage you can sustain, and for this measure, there is no difference whether 1 monster attacks you 15 times or 15 monsters attack you 1 time, each...

So @_Baragain_ is basically trying to provide us with a measure of precisely what you are also looking at.

I'm not seeing the relevance of point #2 - why does it matter if 10 creatures do 20,000 damage rather than 1 boss does the same amount of 20,000 damage. If anything, block rate would be more important if fighting 1 end boss doing the damage due to the increased risk of getting two or three shot from a series of failed blocks - statistically speak, you're more likely to fail 3 block attempts than 30 block attempts.

Agreed, and the natural HP regen of 1% a second could still be viewed as 1% of your effective HP too, because that 1% is protected by the same armor/resistance/block.

But this is not the place for this discussion. If you want to talk about this, come join the debate in the shield thread or the effective HP thread.

Well part of the blame goes on us aswell, we should have cross checked the formula before.
But that's the difference between you and static... you admit mistakes but he won't XD

Well think of this.. if you are blocking 3 out of 5 attacks (just a mere 60% block chance) then to not block in 3 goes is 8/125 that's a very slim chance and to prevent death if that happens you will need raw HP, so its good to have high effective HP but if 2 setups give me the same effective HP i would go with the one with higher raw HP but that's just a preference and maybe because i am SW and block is not so imp to a pure DPS class :p.
