Good all around pet for DK?

Just curious, kinda new to the game, and was wondering what a good all around pet would be for a DK. Thanks

 

Dr.Jullov, it's a unique pet obtained via shop lucky companion package and gives to user +5% armor and +5% all resistance, but it's hard one to get.

 

The one LudiGrozd mentions is very good, but as said, it is hard to get. The bear from the past Defete the Undefetaables event is rather good for a DPS based DK, but if you didn't get it in the event, you'll need to wait for it to be released from Gnob, the event merchant in Kingshill. There is also the turtle, which gives 10% armor, but that costs andermant. Finally, there is the standard 5% HP pet which is the easiest to get and DKs benifit the most from that pet due to having the most HP to begin with. I wouldn't buy one since they are gotten from events rather easily.

Long story short, wait for an event that gives one as a reward and use what you get. Over time, when you have a collection of pets and multiple choices, pick the one that best complements your build.

 

Just wondering if the green raptor would be a better option?, you see, I went through the effort to get the Bearach pet and I had saved a temporary green raptor pet from who knows which giveaway (I didn't buy the permanent one yet because I was saving gold for a certain thing...), and, I don't have the numbers at hand right now, but in the particular case of my SW the 5% damage was slightly higher than the one attained from the bear, and one of my fellow SM (understandable, though) had the same case, so I'm curious, which of these two would be better for a standard DPS based DK?, I know there will be some deviations based on each person's particular build and items, but I guess there's gotta be a some type of standard over which one's more efficient overall.

Also, gotta point out that in the case the bear is released in Gnob's casino, it will be 6k draken total to get, which a newbie could invest in slightly better stuff, even if it came back inside the event, the amount of realm fragments needed to complete if you're unlucky can be brutal, and if you're lucky it's not significantly cheaper either, but 5k gold can be attained rather easily on a short term if the PW is accesible for the player, or reasonably well in the mid-term if the player is just leveling up and managing his resources wisely.

Now, for @Toomis , what Baragain said about the standard 5% HP pet is, perhaps, your best option for now until you figure out the best for your particular goals and build, I find it very versatile and it fits somewhat well even in a DPS build, I'm currently using one in my DK. If you have none, try keeping an eye on the upcoming Dragan event, maybe, just maybe, the Pumpkin pet will be available in it. Also inside the Desert of Essences you can try with the Red Essence Vortex, since they postponed this event in May, I guess it'll probably come in July and it's another source of HP% pets in case Dragan doesn't bring any. Dr. Jullov and the Turtle are both well rounded and mildly decent options, but costly andermant wise.

 

I usually use a 5% attack speed pet (this pet and 2 points in speed gets me to 1.34 attack speed as a 2H) or sometimes the 5% hp pet on my dk (didn't get the bear on my dk). I use either the bear pet or a 5% hp pet on my steam mech as my steam mech doesn't have the attack speed pet.

The 5% hp pet is probably available 4 or 5 times a year as an event progress reward, so like baragain says, keep an eye on the upcoming events.

 

I use the HP pet myself, but Novadude now has me thinking I'll have to look long and hard at the speed pet.

 

If you have the gold, the premium, and enough damage... then yes the raptor is more useful. If the answer to any one of those is "no" then you are better off with the bear.
