i was today reading some news on another game and a change they have done i thought would work very well for dso, they called it *world scaling*

the basic idea is for example a lvl 50 is grouping with a lvl 10, the monsters for the lvl 50 are lvl 50 and for the lvl 10 they are lvl 10 so both can contribute and would remove exp blocking

if this is even possible for dso i have no clue and i have doubts they would implement it seeing as bp seems to like twinks

there are alot of situations where i would like to help a lower lvl player(non twinks) but they want exp so i cant or they get help but no exp

This sounds like a very interesting idea. Anything that would eliminate xp blocking would be beyond awesome.
Agreed. Proportional xp gain would improve the social side of the game. It would be so much easier to group with a newbie and show them how to do something rather than try to explain it in chat.

    Luck be with ye,

So how does that address the actual HP of a monster? Since these aren't raw numbers, as a level 10 having to hit a monster for 10,000 HP would be crazy, we have to be dealing with percentages. Let's say monster X has 100% HP. The level 50 player would hit for ... say 2500 HP and do 25% damage. That means the level 10 player doing 25 HP might also do 25% damage? I think that makes the twinking off the scale. A level 15 twink would hit Balor for one hit and boom... down Balor goes. (Ok, so that was probably unrealistic.. three twink hits might do it.)

I completely agree that the XP for the lower levels needs to increase as they play, whether it is PvP or PvE. I'd like to see it so that the low levels playing with the high levels results in the high levels getting the low level XP and drops. This would keep the high levels from playing with the low levels and the low levels moving up.

This was my thought too. I was also thinking about tanking... could you imagin a LVL 11 twink tanking Herald?

The bottom line is that either the low level would be worthless in the fight, or the twinks would be so OP, everyone would want them for boss runs. I think that the better idea is to just remove XP blocking all together and scale the XP to a level appropriate amount. Of course, this is just one of the many things that need to be addressed if twinking is to be destroyed for good.

the ideal situation would be the mobs for the lower lvl have the hp a lower lvl mob would and the same for the higher lvl (lvl 50 mob having lvl 50 mobs hp)

regarding twinks tanking bosses, shure at first they could not that there isnt enough lvl 50 tanks to need that, but since they would be tanking a same lvl monster they would be getting exp, and eventually there would be no twinks because no matter what they did they would be getting exp
