    Hi guys!,

    Just some small poll here.
I know most of the online games wont allow players to change class of their toons, but what IF DSO are done gaining money from us creating new toons and now allow us to change class (of course with $ involve too)..

What will be your choice? :)

please pick one and please state your current class..

This is fun! Lets see which class are indemand :D

I have one of each class and there's a clear reason why 'class change' isn't needed or desirable for game devs to implement. Unless a game is built from the ground up (or heavily recoded) to allow for multiclassing and changing on the fly, then it will be really buggy to implement.

Say what you will about this game but I will give them credit on one major point: They've done a great deal for stability and bugfixes and I do appreciate that. That is one thing that I can point to this game proudly and say 'it is stable and relatively bug-free for most obvious things'.

No massive performance drops (in most areas) for no reason and the game runs smooth & stable for me. I once played some terrible Chinese-made MMO years ago back when F2P was still a minor thing in the market here. It would always crash at a particular part of the town without fail. The bug went unfixed for (get this) 6 years before they finally fixed it after redoing the entire map in a graphical overhaul update.

Yeesh. So databases can be tricky and with 4 character slots and 4 classes there doesn't seem to be a need to change class: Just make a new one.

The builds for each class are very different. Say you have a Spellweaver with a high critical hit rate. That would be wasted effort if the toon was switched to a Steam Mechanicus.

Not to mention how you'd handle gear. Do you change it to roughly equivalent class gear? What about enchantment lines? It is a significant amount of 'if this then that' special-case coding that might need to be done depending on how they have things implemented.

The initial earlier builds of the game when it was in early open beta phases (when we could assign custom elemental essences for each basic ability) were buggy and unstable as hell. I'm glad they eventually fixed the issue and got some good coders on staff. I'd rather that they weren't tasked to hackney this kind of thing into the existing stable structure.

Now this multiclassing and class-switching idea could be good for a separate game altogether. I'd love to see that. Maybe with a sci-fi flavor instead to stand out from the fantasy crowd. Not too many sci-fi Action RPGs on the market.

Which is why I still believe that the midgets deserve a rework to make crit and crit damage an integral part of their builds too. Nerf the damage of some of their skills, but buff them up by allowing their turrets to crit and then we have a much more balanced "summoner" class.

Many dwarves have not Onyx gem, most even neither one gem. So, It would be very unfair to put them now in this position by incorporating them critical and reducing dmg. Therefore, I can not agree with this proposal. If it BP did this, all the effort and all the time which it was necessary to build an good dwarf went to the wind and the class to become a dead and deserted.

All classes are constantly changing . How many times we should have adjust to the new play style? The last example was nerfing of the crit hit post R155 ... so we all had to adjust to the new rules.
    Why would midgets be excluded?
What ... you are always changing classes and picking up the most easiest for playing?
I and the others don't ... we adopt to the changes.

SM was my first and only choice (I have no other character because I'm F2P) and of course I am ready to adapt to changes... only if the time invested in the game as efforts are not thrown into the wind. Otherwise, I'd be a fool to continue with the game. I believe that as an old player, you know the difference in benefits between players has been collecting Onyx and those who do not, because he didn't need them at all.

And although I mostly agree with you and Baragain, this time I think you're not right :D

That is your mistake. Even if you have no intention to use them, it is simply a wise decision to keep something as potentially valuable as onyx. Sure, you may never buy one, but if the mechanics change drastically some day in the future (say when LVL 55 is released), you'd be kicking yourself for not keeping them.

That is your prerogative, but I think that SMs being able to disregard two whole stats and be better off because of it is one of the biggest examples of class imbalance in the entire game right now.

As a dwarf, unnecessary collecting Onyx or building critical skills is not my mistake. My mistake would be if I continue to play DSO, if would be drastically change of mechanism game, especially if it is devalued someone's efforts and when greed replace creativity in the development of the game. In this case, I believe I will be wise enough to leave the game (as many have already done).

As you writing, that's your prerogative, but I think differently. At the end, all of that is irrelevant because the creators of the game have very different ideas and opinions.

It just takes 1 or 2 gem holders to guard against the future. Given the amount of complaining about mechs ignoring crit, I would not be surprised if the level 55 expansion skills made use of crit. I'm not using my onyxes right now, but I'm certainly stashing them.

My point exactly. Buying them would be foolish right now, but just getting rid of them on the assumption that they will never be useful is equally foolish. That is why I have Peridots and even 4x Shadow Stones.

if i could i would change my class back to RA and see if the luck increases or changes haha. would be great because im dying for unique ill never get. i once had a dream i found a unique XD

  15. Character class change will never happen. Not because the coding would be too difficult. It can actually be done right now with a single button click. But your character would be left with an inventory full of items which it could then never equip. And that's why it won't be implemented for general users. It would, however, be a great way to quickly demonstrate how the grass in not always greener on the other side of the fence.

That is actually good. We don't have to agree on everything ... otherwise these forums would be a very boring place :D

lol.. i dont see myself asking whether class is possible or not.. why people answering the wrong question lol..

the main thought of this thread is to gather information as to what class they will transfer if they are allowed(lets say they are not contented with their current class and looking for new class)..

anyways thanks for those who answer my poll.. :)

    Hey there heroes,

As my colleague told, classe change will never happen. It was a suggestion for a long time, but you must understand that there were some changes that needed to be made in order to give you the right items, sets and everything else. Class change involves a big problem with items that they would cause a huge problem :(

They tested it some months ago, but it is not possible to go trough with that feature :(
    So sorry!
    Cheers,
