    OK, two videos today.

One is right after logging in for the first time after R185.
    F
irst, I took all of my polished and larger "spare" gems and pulled them from their gem holders.
Second, I looked through all my old event gems that are now runes to see what I could fit into my build.
Finally, I used saved clovers and draken to buy some runes, 5x 10% HP runes and 1x 8% 2H attack speed rune.

I put all of these into my build, and you can see that there are still a couple of empty gem slots and more than plenty empty rune slots. Time will tell where my toon will go.

    Gains include
    Damage: 26 Max Damage
    Speed: 0.08
    HP: 2489
    Armor: 486 (2.37%)
    Crit: 47 (0.43%)
    Crit Damage: 13%
    Resist: 168 (1.63%)

It is worth mentioning that about 15 min after this video I realized that I had 4x Flawless Amethyst and 1x Sacred Amethyst in my gloves where I put my HP runes. When I switched it so that it was 5x Sacred, I actually gained another free 110 HP from rearranging the gems (those gains are factored in to the above totals). In case you are curious, those gloves, with their enchantments, glyphs, gems, runes, and the % HP I get from 15 knowledge points spent on HP, they give me 6463 HP. And that is why ultra HP tank builds are coming.

Second is what my version of speed farming looks like. It isn't the most efficient because I ID all my items, but it is still tough to do given that it is fatal.

This is one hour of farming in Q3M1 Fatal with an XP buff and a bone dust buff for maximum return.

For a little laugh, check out 25:11. My favorite song in the playlist came up and I took a dance break.

Also, I will admit, I died twice (After leveling up to 51), but I think lag played at least a little bit of a factor. Playing with 200+ latency is not fun. Also doesn't help that they buffed Fatal monsters too.

Below is the list of what I farmed in this hour:
    536 Ander
    7201095 XP
    887 event progress
    1534 Materi frags
    74 gold, 90 silver, 39 copper
    51 cubes
    236988 glyphs

I just realized that I uploaded this one two weeks ago but forgot to add it here.

There you go... proof that I do PvP from time to time.
I have another one that the sound screwed up on and I'm working to actually edit music in. It was a little more fun than this one.

I was reminded by the discussion of playing in areas with high latency and how PvP is tough under those conditions.

Thanks. I'm working on adding audio to the most recent PvP video because something went wrong with the capture. When it's done, I'll upload it too. In that one, I made a Marshal quit before I got my first kill. We were standing head to head and my HP wasn't going down, but his was dropping like a stone. Guess that he didn't like the idea of losing to a SKotO and would rather take the 15 min peanelty. :p

People normally quit when the are raging, in some case studies, they even smash their keyboards, and in severe cases their entire PCs :D:D:D
I will probably post some of my PvP, hoping that no one gets offended as it's not the intention.

Also, just a question, I noticed that your running speed is great, are you not placing any emphasis on it? For me my running speed is everything, I don't give my opponents a breather, no escape.

With my lag (210-220 ms latency on average right now) it doesn't make much difference because I just rubber band even more. Second, I don't have a pair of unique boots to do transfer crafting with yet and right now, my New Moon boots are better for my defense and offense vs my 485 armor 30.6% speed boot. Third, as I've said several times, I hate PvP. There is very little fun in it for me. That means that I don't have one set of gear for PvE and one set of gear for PvP. In PvE, run speed on a DK is the least important stat except when doing mind-numbingly dull events like the New Moon which only has a normal mode and everything dies in one hit anyway. During those events, I go up to 60.6% run speed but with crappy HP.

    EDIT:
    And here is is...

Check out 2:54 for the rage quit. This also has PvP stats at the beginning. They've gone up a little from gems and from improving my weapon decoration, but this is close. I sort of felt sorry for the DK at 6:20. After the first fight he realized that he didn't stand a chance and just took his beating so it would end.

I know this is a thread for videos post 185, I guess it's unavoidable to have little conversations here.
Might be a silly question which either won't answer or I should've known the answer by now, where are you from?
The reason I am asking is that my ping is same as yours, unless I use 4G (my iPhone's hotspot) then I can get it down to around 175-190.

Also, we are very different in terms of what we get excited about in the game, I am very much a PvPer and all I do is for PvP, the farming, events and the rest of it. So running speed for me is an absolute must.

My HP now is 59320, no pet. Here's my boots, got top stats on this pair:

I'm from the US and play on Agathon. I'm usually at around 60-70 ms latency, but I'm traveling a lot right now and I'm using a wireless hot spot to connect to the internet from the other side of the world. I'll put it this way, my signal crosses multiple continents and at least one ocean.

P.S. At just about the same time you posted, I updated my last post. The new video is up.

It would be. I'd love to have more people to PvE with and some more PvP that are actually competitive.

Maybe it is my rank. I am only a SKotO and most of the Marshals/Field Marshals I get matched against are easy kills. Maybe the match making system doesn't want to match me up with the truly challenging Marshals/Field Marshals until I'm a Flag Bearer/Marshal myself.

I think the same as Skygazer about speed movement, it is one of the most important things in this game. Sincerely I can't believe you got to win all those 1vs1 with that speed. In Heredur it is almost impossible. You would end a lot of battles with 0 dmg

Movement speed is more important in a 1H build since you do less damage and need to land more hits. Run speed is less important when you are more of a 1 Hit kill build as is the unfortunate meta facing 2H DKs today.

I have to disagree with you on this one. The difference between low run speed and high run speed DKs is huge for a mage like me. I wreck the former ones almost everytime because I always manage to flee from them when they are using Dragon Hide/Battle Cry, but a single mistake with the latter ones means death. For 1H DKs it entirely depends on how they manage their skills (not taking the overall defense stats in account, I almost always lose against run/heal DKs).

It comes down to predictability. It seems like just about everyone uses similar avoidance tactics and I can predict with reasonable accuracy where they will go and I land my hits there. A common example is that mages/mechs tend to teleport/jet pack if they see me stop for an instant while I'm somewhat close because they think I'm about to use MWS. If I time a fake stop when I'm in the right spot, I know where they will probably teleport/jet pack to and instead of the pause being followed up with a MWS, I jump to where they are going and do a MWS there.

In fact, most fights follow the same general pattern. Like you, I have trouble with the run/heal DKs because they heal more than I can damage quickly. Run/heal Mechs are just as worse because of their huge offensive advantage that their turrets offer, but neither of these problems will be solved by more run speed in my 2H build. In fact, on the occasions I fight 2H DK with impressive run speed, I love it because I know that no matter how much they run, they will come to me and I know that I can kill them easier than they can kill me. Then it becomes a game of managing skills, like you said about 1H DKs.

The final thing is that most ranged classes are predictable in how they shoot too. All the run speed your opponent has is useless if their aim sucks (which is why I hate ultra fast, ultra high DPS RAs who love scatter shot... the most cheap skill in all of PvP).

Yeah very important for 1h build for the reasons you stated, but also very important for 2h if you don't want to finish at 0... but it depends also on your opponent. The ones on your video indeed give reason to you, but these are not serious opponents

The famous fake stop... I often use it too against other DPS classes, especially if they only see me through the red and blue points on the minimap. They think I will channel a destruction and prefer to flee, but I just stay here, gaining some seconds to regen my mana pool and recharge my skills.

Attack speed is actually more efficient against every type of mech : if I time my fireballs and ice missiles well, I can manage to fire a constant hail of projectiles without being hit. But this is easily countered when the dwarf opponent fires rapid shots in addition to the bullets from the 2 turrets... I can't dodge 3 cannons firing at me, especially if the dwarf has a high attack speed too. The same for DK vs mech : the more hits you can land when there's an opening (jump not ready/not enough steam/turrets depleting), the better it is.

Of course, if you talk about DK vs DK, they can't eternally flee from each other :p But as for DPS vs DK, it really makes a difference. Most of the time, if I get out of the arena alive, that's because I was given time to react and dodge. I always follow the same pattern too, which is based on mind control, teleport, frozen wind and frost nova (one of these 3 skills will always be cloned), but I can react to almost every situation using them (flee away, or teleport, freeze and shoot, or double frost nova, etc.). When the DK doesn't let me accomplish a certain combination of skills -because he can catch up with me so quickly- it's the end.

Stop it, it reminds me of the q4 bow era

The funny thing is that even though it is such a standard tactic, so many people fall for it. :D
While that is true for a ranged class, I disagree a bit with the assessment of DKs fighting mechs. Here's why. A mech is never going to be out of range from his mechanical turrets in a 1v1 match because as soon as they disassemble (from running out of the circle or from time), they rebuild them. That means that a DK is almost always in range when trying to attack the mech. The only viable strategy for a DK to kill a high damage mech is to shatter the glass cannon into a thousand tiny pieces before the mech knows what hit it.
No argument there, but most of my arguments were directed towards people saying that my "Hit hard, Hit once" tactic needed more run speed. I find that I do rather well against 90% of opponents and the 10% who give me trouble are very niche builds (like the 10k HP RA with 80% run speed and does nothing but scattershot while you avoid birds, nets, traps, and thickets that aren't supposed to do any real damage), and even against those niche builds, the extra run speed would barely make a difference.

Here are the top niche builds that give me trouble from each class.
"Death by 1000 Cuts" DK: This DK has crappy damage, probably even using Lifekeeper. They have an ungodly amount of HP (80k+) and run speed that is through the roof... like "38% boots with 15%-20% from speed runes" kind of fast. They take little 100-300 damage potshots that barely move your HP, but then they run as soon as you land a solid hit. They then spend the next 10 seconds running while they heal 1600 HP per second and totally reverse the 5000-10000 lucky crit you landed. Then they come back for more and do another couple hundred damage before running away from the fight again. They keep this up for the two minuets and they enter exhaustion with 100% HP and you enter with 80% HP and then math has it's way and you lose.
Analysis: I would need more run speed than I could achieve to even this playing field. I'm a good player, but I'm not a P2W... hell, until about six months ago, I was still 100% F2P. The amount of run speed runes and the nerf to run speed lines on boots is a guarantee that I'll never be able beat this kind of DK.

"Frostbites" SW: I was shocked when I ran into this build. The guy started shooting Ice Missile at me from the start like a machine gun with something close to 2.5 attack speed. Each one hit for 100 damage or less, but I was barely moving from the slowing effect. Between his run speed (not as crazy as the above DK, but still impressive), and my slowness, I had a tough time catching him. I would win some, I would lose some. It was mostly if I could land one or two good hits while I had DH available, and that decided the match. Honestly, the guy did nothing but Ice Missile with a 1H with ball build and it was the toughest SW fight I'd ever had... even worse than the 2 shot KO fireball SWs.
Analysis: Because of the attack speed and the amount of speed reduction from the Ice Missiles, I'm in a similar situation as above. The amount of speed I'd need to be able to overcome the issues is unobtainable in my current position.

"Aiming?... Ain't Nobody Got Time For That" RA: This is the one I described above. They drop traps, throw nets, cast their birds, leave a trail of thorns... not with the intention of doing damage or stunning you, but to make you doge. And while you doge, they turn around, take one or two Scatter Shots in your general direction, and get back to running. While they often have a decent amount of travel speed, their biggest delaying tactic is their obstacles. Sure, if you have a jump or charge on cool down, you can bypass thorns or a trap, but birds just make you run and nets make you have to react with split second timing, and they know what they are doing well enough to make the most out of their distraction.
Analysis: Speed could help here when it comes to some of these, but it also puts you even closer to their traps and close enough that their bird's delay is too short. While a 1H DK might tank a bird, modern 2H DKs really have to worry about that winged death from above. The biggest problem is that the RAs don't need to aim and their primary damage dealing option is nearly unavoidable.

"Every Dwarf Ever" SM: This is a simple build. Stack as much damage as possible, drop 2 mechanical turrets, maybe a tactical turret or a tesla turret, followed up by shrapnel shot and then run around like your tiny little pants are on fire while the DK desperately tries to land a hit before getting obliterated by the turrets every time the toon pauses to take a swing. If the mech can take more than 2-3 hits, then most 2H DKs are done.
Analysis: Run speed is irrelevant here because it is all about having rage and dishing damage fast enough to kill them before they kill you. I find that if I don't kill the mech in the first 8-10 seconds of the fight, he will probably win.

In the study of war, there are nine "principals of war." Objective, Offensive, Mass, Economy of Force, Maneuver, Unity of Command, Surprise, and Simplicity. To translate that in to DSO ideas, run speed contributes to Maneuver, and surprise, but I'd sacrifice Mass, Surprise (in a different form), Simplicity. As it is now, I'm satisfied with my balance of everything.

A very dense analysis, even though you're describing your very precise situation. Not that it is unrelated, especially since I agree, but as a DPS class, with some of your assessments. But yeah, since only a small fraction of parrticularly built chars put you in trouble, I see why you don't feel the urge of increasing your movement speed.

These are so well described it's frightening. Every match against those types of opponents follows your patterns. Don't forget the not-so-fair DKs that take off HP items to lower the hp % they're losing. You'd think that as a ranged class it's easier to deal with this type of DK, but I only already managed to kill some of them thanks to veeeeeeeeeeeeeery lucky fireball crit hits... that ever repeat twice a match. 2-1 for Dodging Road Runner. As for mechs, I've come to a point where I randomly spam fireballs through the screen and then suicide-ice-sphere on their faces... it works. sometimes. But they grind my gears. I've yet to come up with a strategy that could help me to deal with the MOTHERLOVING TURRETS. These are so... not in par with the other classes mechanics... but I won't start a whole "turrets are the bane of the existence of my mage while I of course enjoy them when they are unleashed against mobs" argument

Actually I've only encountered this pokemon during 5v5. and he has a 2H weapon. and insane attack speed. and damage. and critical hit rate. and critical damage. The perfect example of the OP mage that spawnkills your entire team because the ice missiles he fires are no longer mere projectiles, but hellish immaterial strings that obliterate anything that passes through it. Fortunately they are way out of my league so I rarely have to fight them.

I don't know if you already encountered challenging mages with my playstyle (i luv duplicata of skil) since you're not that fond of PvP, but I would like to fight you one day... too bad we're not on the same servers. I can assure you that against me, run speed would make a difference. But I think that stats-wise, you remain way out of my league anyway... Shabby stats and a bit of skillz can still not handle the infamous 1-shotting opponent o_O

They are the sort of descriptions that are born out of frustration. The most annoying thing about most of these builds is that they do not rely on skill, but on stats or cheap mechanics.

It is sort of sad that BigPoint can't make a well balanced PvP when so many examples exist in the genre. I don't think PvP has been balanced in this game since the time before the R87 nerf.

He'd probably be a pain to fight no matter what tactic he decided to use, but in this post stats nerf from 185, the ice is probably a real killer right now.

If you are talking about the kind that love to use their MC to use certain annoying skills more than once, I'm usually only caught by it once from a given player. For example, if Player X uses it to get multiple stuns, I learn to save my stun breaks. If Player Y uses it to triple telaport across the map, I wait until after they use it before I use Furious Battle Cry to chase them down. Then some like to use it to put a Singularity on top of their position, as if that will scare me away and I'll just use charge to hit them in the middle as I cross from one side of the singularity without ever being armor broken.
