Got a nice shiny piece of new loot, and you want to show it the stats off to your party or guild? Well, unless you feel like re-typing the stats, taking a screenshot, or using some sort of screenshare program, you can't.

Can we please implement an option where if you press Enter (which opens chat), some kind of function that will link a piece of loot into chat (eg. Shift + left click), then Enter (to actually type the chat), the piece of loot will now appear in chat? Other players who can see the chat should be able to hover over it and the tooltip will appear that will show exactly what the player who owns it is seeing.

This is also handy for players who are asking "What the heck is ____?" and of course I have no idea, because I can't see what they are seeing. :D

But all you have to do is to say what base stats/enchantments you got ... because everything else is pretty much the same for all players.

Can we expect a new form of chat spamming? :D

If my memory is correct, they talked about the ability to "show" items a while back (maybe a year or two ago) and I guess that idea got scrapped.

You beat me to it, but yes, they proposed that and I sort of remember it didn't have much acceptance, because most of us weren't happy about the idea of other people peeking into whatever puny stuff we're wearing, it could pose a severe disadvantage in the already broken PvP system to know exactly your opponent's weakness, there's enough bullying in-game already, but, showing a single item voluntarily, meh, I wouldn't be bothered if it makes it or not, but by the look of things and what the devs say, it could take a very long time before we see it.

For someone who's just returned to the game, all the new stats are different as hell from what I remember. Moreover, there are a whole bunch of new sets I'm unfamiliar with. I want to see more than just the base stats, I want to be able to read what the heck the set bonuses are without having to either a) obtain the item myself b) open the wiki c) ask for a screenshot/screenshare.

Spamming isn't an issue in all the other games I've played and this is a feature. (I'd name them so you could see for yourself, but the mods are gonna be slapping my hand for multiple posts with other game names XD.) By and large, it's useful for players to ask what an item is if they have no idea (eg. "Hey, are [Mortis Coins] still useful?") or if they want advice regarding a certain piece of gear (eg. "I just got [Roshan's Circle]. What do you think of the stats?")

What I'm suggesting is different than what they previously proposed, which seemed to be letting people see everything you wear. This system would allow you to put only what you want into chat (gear, quest items, event items, blah) so that you can discuss it.

Very easy ... most of them are available at the entrance screen :)

I am not sure what harm it could bring to the game if it only showed in chat the item that you wanted to link. I agree people should not be able to check stats on your items without you making the links in chat.

I can think of several occasions when somewhat has said I just got (insert whatever the item may be). It would be handy and fun if they included the link to the item. Could also help when someone is making suggestions on possible upgrades and they ask what stats the item is that you are wearing.

Not sure how it would be implemented but think it is a good idea. Good one silverseas

In [EDIT] this is implemented very nice, they can be shown in every chat but i think in DSo they should be implemented only for guild and parties. You have + from me, can be used when you need an opinion to accept or not a combined item, to keep a unique item and many other.

True, until it is a world unique, quest item, event item, or a piece of gear from a class you don't even play. :p

    No, I don't like.

It could create only a useless spamming main chat.
