What do these seemingly random numbers mean?

As secondary Question how do I post images? Used the image icon in the tool bar at the top of the post edit window but, as can be seen, without success.

    Hello @ABN555, which ones exactly?

You got the first step correctly, but the address you need to paste into the tool is the one where you can see the file's extension, e.g., *.jpg in this case, right click the image and open it in a new tab, you'll have the link you need in the address bar of the new tab, or, copy the image link from the dropdown menu after right clicking, if the option is available, fixed it for you in the meantime, best regards.

    Thanks for fixing the pic.

Random numbers in the upgrade window i.e.
    118 max damage
    34 min damage
    132 damage
Those numbers dont seem to relate in any way or shape to the stats on the item to upgrade

Yes, they do, you just dont know how to look at it. 118 is the max damage and 34 is the min damage this weapon has, along with its "general" damage. To simplify it: 132 damage + 34 min damage= 166 min damage. Isnt that what the level 55 staff has? 166 min damage it has. Now, for its max damage:132 damage +118 max damage=250, which again is shown in the image.
You just have to understand how this game works. In terms of the weapons, more specifically the damage part, there is min damage, max damage and "general" damage .
For example, if(just "if) a weapon has 0 min damage and 0 max damage, but its damage is 130, then that weapon will have 130 min damage and 130 max damage, since the min and max damage stats are 0 and they are not added. Since the weapons normally do have min and max, if in my example the weapon had 5 min damage and 10 max damage then its overall damage would be 135min-140max. Do you get it?

    Thank you makes sense now.
However seem over complicated to me. At the end of the day I don`t care, perhaps I should, what the individual figures are, All I want to see at a glance, rather than having to break out the calculator, is what the total min and max figures are i.e. 166 and 250 and how much those are going to increase.

If all you want to know is how much they are going to increase, all you have to do is test it out my upgrading them and checking what they give to you according to your gear too of course and after you do so you can just remove the glyphs or even melt the item. There is no standard answer to how much an items min, max or overall damage will increase. Each weapon is different, some gain more overall damage than others when you upgrade their level
