I've been playing the game for a while now, 2 months to be exact. However, after reaching the level cap at 55, there seems to be a plateau stopping me from getting to a pro level, especially when it comes to the damage.

It took me 20 days to reach level 55. Then I have spent rest of the time in PW and doing events. Now my base damage is at around 8.5k max without ess and 20k max with red ess. With this low damage I can hardly solo Q1 mod1 for materis without dying, let alone doing Inf123.

I'm now in a dilemma where without a good 2H weapon from any Inf modes, I'm pretty much stuck at this low damage and no one would have me in their Inf group to farm my Q7 weapon.

So now I spend most of my time farming 2H weapon gold lines (which btw seems extremely hard to come by) and and materis (currently only have 30k).

It feels like I'm forever stuck in this cycle being too weak to get stronger. I'm in a non-English speaking guide, members seems to be teaming up with their own people, difficult for me to get in to a group even with a guide.

    My question is..

Should I just keep farming materis until reaching 120k enough for me to ask someone to carry me the Q7 boss and allow me to buy the weapon?

Or, I should just try to get into inf groups anyway to see if I'll be lucky enough to have the uni drop?

Maybe some of you awesome dwarfs can share your thoughts?

btw this is what I currently have/at:

    1) Without ess

sounds like you need a decent guild to help build you up and steer you in the right direction. What server are you on?

I'm not an SM but after 2 months, well, what do you expect? :]
In fact, you have T5 and T6 stuff which I only just started to come across after 2 years of playing, and only in groups if I'm extremely lucky.

Farm glyphs to upgrade your weapon to level 60, farm rubies and buy them in -50% sales. Then start crafting 2 gold line purple weapons from 1 gold line blue ones that you collect. Pray to all gods to get a 3 or 4 gold line legendary weapon...

@BigHink I'm on Heredur. If there is an active English-speaking guide, I would definitely switch over.

@Akageshi Perhaps I'm lucky when it comes to high tier items (except weapon... really had no luck getting a good one). Yea, I'm farming gold lines, but it's very hard. Haven't seen one 2H weapon with % dmg on this item gold line. As for the glyphs, I've used them all, but working on getting more now.

The thing with inf 123, people are usually asking for "no noobs", "over 30k dmg" or "op dmg". I'm not one of these... :(

Step 1.: don't try to skip half of the progress by getting carried in inf3.. you kinda already did that, as your character doesn't belong anywhere over painful, yet you have T5-T6 gear.

Step 2.: If you really want to climb up on the back of others, grind that painful PW until you get your materi, and buy your Q7 and Q8 set, however that alone won't be enough to get good, since you need crafts as well.

Step 3.: I would advise you to go and farm scaling dungeons, especially loxley's caverns where you will come across a whole lot of crafting material, and a decent chunk of GoP

Right after reaching lv 55, I started farming the desert map on normal and crafted a few items with 3 gold lines. With that and with the blue essence I made in the desert map I was able to farm PW on mod1 and slowly craft all my items with 4 gold lines, one by one. In total took me 6 months to craft all items, while playing 4-5 times per week. After that I was able to go infernal. Takes lot of time and patience to build a strong character.
What most of the new comers doesn't know is that farming inf3 and the tier6 items doesn't make you strong, crafting does. Many say in the chat "strong player, I have q7, please invite". That is just funny, means exactly nothing.
    Hope that helps.

I was lucky getting those T5 T6 gears from the New Moon event, non of them are from PW; didn't actually try to skip anything intentionally. I was just looking for the shadow wanderer costume from kara and people were asking for woods and they would do the kills, so I tagged along providing some spawns.

As for the gold line farming, I've been doing that in q3m1, Gorga and Balor. Maybe I have been doing it wrong the whole time. I'll try Loxley's Caverns next time. Thanks for the tip! Does it matter which difficulty the dungeon is when farming crafting materials, lets say in loxley's caverns?

@nvmind That's quite a tedious process! But looking at the gold line drop rate that I have experienced, 6 months is really impressive. Is it only me or the "% dmg on this item" gold line items are extremely rare? I've only seen one (the one I'm holding) after reaching 55.

The higher the difficulty the more gold lines you get. With practice your character should be able to handle excruciating scaling dungeons, maybe even fatal with blue ess.

Weapon drops are more rare in general, and idoti seems to be the most rare enchant on them in my experience.

Man, youre lucky, it took me 6 months to get to lvl55, I had no one helping me and I used a turturingly slow 1h build on top of that.
You need gems much much bigger gems, you need glyphs and you need wisdom.
300 million glyphs should be your target.

Farm desert painful/excru/fatal (or your other favorite scaling dungeon - see note below) for glyphs and get everything to 57+. You'll also acquire a ton of gems and wisdom this way. If you have premium you will also get cubes.

I farm a lot of desert fatal these days as I am trying to get wisdom and glyphs as I am trying to get everything up to 60. I generally sell all my greens and blues (and pinks over 1.5 gold and legs over 6 gold) using the shop talent. Each desert fatal run is getting me on average 150000 to 200000 glyphs.

As for trying to get into an inf group for a q7 drop, the odds are low. You'll be better off trying to build up enough mat frags to buy the q7 set outright after a successful run.

You might want to try to get at least 3 of the bloodmoon set, including the gun, as a temporary measure while building up your gear. You would want to run the full moon event anyway to completion in order to get two 1H speed runes from progess and possible 2H runes drops from the bloodmage.

Note: I prefer desert fatal, but it does have one problem/tradeoff. Although it has respawning monsters, there is no chance of a sentinel chest and thus no chance of wisdom seeker runes. You might want to prioritize getting those runes, in which case Foxburrow is probably a better map.

As others have said, You are expecting too much in just 2 months. You should reset Your expectations.

In my opinion, You are doing more than better Yourself for the 2 months. Give Yourself a pat in the back. Yes, You are doing really good.

I am now at 13 months after reaching 55. My items are still only upgraded to level 56 and some at 57. I have all gear at T6 uniques, but only a few transferred from 3x golden lines. Now only I am at a point of soloing Infernal I maps/bosses.

    Here is my advice:

    1. Farm enough materi to buy your T6 gear set that You need from PWs. Then go with a strong group and buy them.
    2. Wait for next Dragan event to get Your Dragan geat at T6
    3. Get your New Moon gear at T6 (drops or buy from Draken)

This would get you a full uncrafted set of T6. And that would be a good start. You should be able to solo Excruciating modes without any help, and with a team can do Infernal modes.

Next step would be to upgrade your items and craft better gear.
