the anniversary event is a solid fail.

    1. bad rewards
    2. uninteresting event in terms of gameplay, story
    3. unbalanced difficulty levels (i can solo PW fatal easily but died twice on painful mode in the Anniversary Arena)
    4. similarly low quality mini events

the event has absolutely no redeeming factors.

It's a bad event in my eyes and, as most other events, not worth the time.

"Best" rewards seem highly chance-based, but don't seem any good to bother anyway.
After I logged in I was bombarded with stupid amount of event announcements/descriptions, so after I've spent 15 min reading through that I decided to just ignore it all. Grinding is never fun, but we do it for promises of worthy rewards, but I feel like the regular, non-event grind is much more rewarding than this.

    Suggestions on how to improve:
    - increase drops of all event stuff
    - make a system that guarantees the main rewards
    - get rid of the stupid buy-through-an-event habit (remove the possibility of speeding through with andermant)
    - get rid of stupidly complicated event systems; tons of different event items, systems on how, when and where to use them, how and where to get them, etc.. it doesn't make it fun, it makes it stupidly boring to even learn what to do.

You might notice I'm saying "stupid" a lot. It's because the event is stupid and a glorious fail for such an important thing as an freaking Anniversary.

Oh and one last thing: whoever decided it's a good idea to place those repeating fireworks is a complete and utter idiot, who should open the game, enter a city, and be slapped in the face every single time the fireworks are heard. There is no other recompense I'd acknowledge
for the mental torture of having to listen to that.

That is the main point, in my opinion.

The mini event is utterly bad, not much better than All for None. You have to farm whole the two days of every mini to finish it (so two weeks to finish them all), and in the end you can get utter crap from the golden piniata... Seriously, I would farm myself off for the two days if I was guaranteed to get the golden squire, since that would give me the 6 pet bonus in that category... but if I have not 100% chance to get it, I'm leaving the event. In fact I haven't left a single event before the All for None except for the invasions of RCC and Jarlshofn/Hognis' Mine. If now I am leaving two events in a row, something is wrong, eh?

And, the progress is really too long. If it was half what it is now, it could make any sense. Another problem is the mob damage. People who have no problems with infernals in PW die with those mobs in fatal. Crap, crap and once again crap. And once again, if you somehow finish the event, you get some "rewards" that are not worth the effort with some crappot, which contains only further crap not worth the effort.

Dear mods, please tell the devs that this anniversary event is an epic fail, and they are clearly going in bad direction if the second event in a row is completly worthless.

you just made a masterpiece-event to look like something that i cannot describe its low now purpose

all mini events together want you to obtain (i think) 35000 progress items while last year you had only to get 950 progress items giving us a perfect amount of time to achieve that goal

on the contrary, now we have only 2 days for every 7000

if only you could increase the drop of the progress item or at least put some special buffs

P.S.: sorry for my bad english (maybe) but ... If someone has issues with some people and takes his revenge from destroying that game, please ... do not be an avenger , it isn't cool anymore :mad:

I don't know about you ... but i find challenge rewards very useful.
The only reason I am playing it is because I can get Creatress' Tears ... and then I can sell them for 20 copper.
If there were not the creatress' tears ... i would probably not be playing the challenge at all.

It would be that the rewards for horsa farmers in this event will be like this, I think it's very bad.
Bigpoint, review those rewards, otherwise I will not even waste my time on this EVENT any more.
This comes to be a disregard for us players.

I'm another extremely disappointed with this event player :( Last year I was struggling so much to survive in the anniversary arena, and finished the entire event only because some stronger players included me in their group and helped/kept reviving me. This year I'm much stronger, can run fatal and infernal maps without much trouble, but still I keep dying when solo that arena on norm or painful modes... What's wrong with that?! Have you even tried playing that **** arena at all? I guess, no...

And now the respawning of eggs was a bug and was fixed... Why on Earth did you do that? There was nothing wrong with them! what's the point of all those buffs if one must reenter a given location over and over again?

As for mini-even challenge: "an epic fail" will describe it perfectly. I received so much pms asking about where one can find those dwarves, because ppl weren't sure which maps are "included" in the challenge. The dwarves are overpowered. I got killed several times, even my much stronger friends complained about them and died a couple of times. That tiny progress drop is silly, only a bunch of challenge-mobs per map... Seriously? The rewards for that are laughable, I only enjoyed the stones. And no, there's still some 2000 progress to be done :(

Basically, that mini-even was designed mainly for premium users, because one must use a world's map in order to jump onto different locations and free revives due to ridiculously overpowered group of mobs and those who have nothing else to do but sitting and playing the game for over 8 hours or so.

Just keep remember that some of us are just trying to get some fun and relax while playing DSO. No more grinding and boring events, pretty please!

I totally agree with you.For some reason, mini event looks like an overpowered dark dwarf heist event !!! I thought that the game wanted to complete its events using team ups and sometimes alone. Now it's over. Next year now. :(:(

I fear there will be no "next year" for some of us :( There are too many discouraged and tired ppl out there, and the new ones that come will soon give up due to being unable to play solo or finding friend to play with.
Those who play this game for a couple of years find nothing new nor exciting about it anymore. Running the same maps over and over again + doing the same event with some overpowerd mobs are utterly exhausting.

I just read on DSO fanpage that some 7-8 hours of constant playing was needed to finish this mini challenge. Fair enough if that player got some stuff from spheres that they didn't have, but the rest?

I find no celebration aspect in this anniversary event :(

How the heck can an Iron Dwarf use Fury of the Dragon, which is a Dragonknight skill? Are you planning on going [EDIT]? You've really outdone yourselves with this mini. <- sarcasm

You can do this event on 3 hours, if you will do them on stonkeep and FBI fatal mode. Good option 2/3 ppl in group and universal map to change maps... but so what! mini have worse rewards than stupid arena. The best of them is rune bag but you have so low chanse to get them.

I think you should have worked the event mini challenge screen and clearly say "possible" rewards because you are marketing 4 rewards
and if you don't get any of those; then you get no reward which means it is only possible to get it; not guarantee right ? I think maybe players would have not wasted time in some Fatal dungeon for a few draken and single gem if they have KNEW that is only POSSIBLE to get rewards.

Here is the sad story picture of your mini challenge "POSSIBLE" rewards:

Well, I suppose maybe someone can run this event in that amount of time. But this is what I estimated. And this is based on actually focused grinding (running past most mobs trying to solely target the dwarves).

1 painful run = 23 progress, and takes 5 minutes (average, sometimes less, sometimes more.)
12 runs an hour (no stopping for potty breaks, ya'll) = 276 progress per hour.
    7,000 divided by 1 hour's progress = 25.36(...) hours of running.

I'll grant that people running in higher tiers who can mow down the opposition will do it faster. But the average player? They can do this 48 hour mini event if they run for 25 of those 48 hours. Of course, that means you'll be doing those marathon runs continually for the next week or so, until the event cycles through all the different maps.

12 hours on, 12 to sleep or work or whatever normal people do.

And your reward is a grab bag which may or may not include a pet or an aura. Oh, and an achievement (which will read something like, "here lies the remains of a player who actually tried to complete this messed up event").

25 hours every two days to complete this event. Nope.

group doing stonekeep and then check 1st egg in FBI and return to stonekeep using universal map easily get 1500 progress per hour even with fairly weak members but does need good coordination

yeah right, the respawning eggs was a bug, sure it was

It is really a coincidence that this "bug" really saved a lot of time for players and BPs has been going around trying to make players waste even more time took the time to remove... erm... fix it

    Your math is way off.

First of all, if you only do one run every 5 min, you are doing it wrong. You run in, find the group, kill them, reset. Most runs are less than 2 min.
Second, while a solo player has to be rather strong to speed run solo in higher difficulties, a group, even a group of moderate players, can handle Excruciating or Fatal and the drops are much better.
Third, if you use a solid strategy, you can improve your rate even better. In fatal, with the rotation I was using between Stonekeep (check the full map) and FBI (checked first egg for during resets), I got over 1k an hour, even while helping teams of 3-4 other people. Total time to finish the mini was about 5.5 hours, and the time to get the 1925 kills for the achievement was about 8-9 hours. Like Hink said, it is not that bad.

The drop rate in fatal is only 1.65 times better than the drop in painful, so it should only take a little over 9 hours (maybe 10, to be generous) to finish the event in painful, even in a group.

Not quite... they are only four of the seven possible rewards:

And the CoTs are auto pickup, so if you got them, you wouldn't even see them on the ground.
