Funny, that sounds a lot like this thread, and as I said there, that sounds a lot like the description of the mod team... but what do I know.

I appreciate that something finally is happening but not the facebook group, please ...

I suggest using reddit - it will be definitely much better at what you're aiming at and it's way more customizable.

Oh dear god... not reddit. That place is only a small improvement over Facebook.

...I know! How about they use their official, in house media platform called the "Drakensang Online Forum."

Don't mind me. I'm apparently crazy for thinking that the team needs to give more attention to their official forums instead of spending 99% of their time on Facebook and Instagram.

Forums aren't created with a purpose of gathering feedback, which would have an impact on dev from a small, handpicked group. Forums are made for masses, where these can leave their (mostly unreasonable) complains. Also, current forum software isn't supporting creating a special group of "priveleged" users that can view a particular forum section (afaik). This is possible in mods case BUUUUUT mods have their accounts created by ICMs or TLs (afaik) which is understandable since mods are a very small group. Also, BP isn't responsible for forum software development (in case you argue that they can improve the forums - they can't).

Subreddit, in contrary, would support their goals 100% (unlike fb group which would be messy, and by messy I mean MESSY, even if its moderated and used by handpicked group of users).

EDIT: Even discord would be better than a facebook group ...

Well, if the feedback "Player Panel" should be a small group, then it shouldn't be much work to make a private section of the forum and either create accounts, or give existing account elevated permissions, for the individuals that the team lets join.

That's few hundred (prolly) accounts that have to be created (logins, random generated passwords, forcing player to change the generated password) and then forwarded to particular players - even thinking about logistics of this "process" makes my head hurt..

EDIT: Also, forum accounts are directly linked to the game so these have to be green-lighted so T&C 4 week timespan (I know it isn't working atm but someday it may be) of not logging wouldnt end up in removing the account.

There are many issues that are related to creating this "player panel" here, on the forums which is why they picked something else but facebook group isn't a great choice.

A "Few hundred" is probably a "couple hundred" too many.

To quote Men In Black "A person is smart; People are dumb."

The more people you have participating in something like this, the more stupid ideas and discussions will occur. The developers will then be free to do whatever they darn well feel like and when reasonable people complain, they will point to the "Player Panel" feedback as an excuse for all the stupid things they do and say "Look, we are doing what the players want."

Second, this is a closed group, so there is the possibility for them to release information that isn't readily available to the main player base. If anything confidential is put out in the group, how long do you think it will take for those things to end up on DSO World or one of those other DSO leak pages? There are already leak problems, and that is with information that I'd assume only the mods get, so how much worse would it be in a group like this.

Further, any individual that is involved in this Facebook group should be vetted to ensure that the feedback they provide will actually be of real value and the group doesn't turn into an echo chamber. Do you really think that there are "several hundred" players who have actively contributed to the community in any meaningful and measureable way? Because the alternative is that they let random players who think that they have a clue about what they are talking about into this group and then call it "feedback." Don't make me laugh.

    Hello @Shado0ow ,

Regarding your question, we do not have any knowledge about 'Player Panel' or any other private party happening on Facebook.
    Please contact their Facebook moderators.

    Cheers.
