Since we all know BP will not rework the event quest, even if we reported it about a few years ago that this event can make you farm a lot, but even more if you dont pay attention to a little thing..

Which is to DO NOT! complete this first quest while the event is running, otherwise you can make the event even longer for yourself or hire another player who didnt finished the quest yet and you will be stick around players like this.

What you have to do is:
    1. Accept the quest offer.
    2. Do what the quest wants you to do over the maps.
    3. Kill the boss in the Dungeon of Despair.
    4. Cancel the quest after killing the boss.
    5. Re accept the same quest.
If you complete the quest (which I highly recommend to not do) you succesfully made yourself to farm the Dungeon of Despair 3-4 times without a single time meeting with the boss..

Long story short if you want to, you can read the whole page about the event here.
Only players who played this event at least once know this, but after this topic hopefully new players will pay attention to this to make the event grind even less. Or farm the Cloak and draken cores more.

Thank you @trakilaki for recording this in DSO Wiki page.

I am wondering if they reworked event items, last year were preety much crap.

I am looking forward to the event, as I did last year, and the year before. I'm disappointed in advance because I know there will be a feedback thread. That thread will be completely ignored unless someone calls for a nerf on the drops, in which case a hotfix will be implemented halfway through.

The set used to be pretty cool. I ran the cape, axe and shield on my DK from lvl 38 to 55 if I remember correctly. Unfortunately now I ask myself what the point is. 1H is currently not all that viable and the times I do tank, I am using Heradur shield and a spider axe. I would love it if, as these events come and go, BP either decides to make a 1H build viable again, or give us DK's a 2H axe. I don't know what BP has against edged weapons.

Alternately, they could expand the rewards so that most of the event sets drop in a 1H and 2H version and let the players choose how to build their character.

Last but not least, the cloak, is a pretty good option for some builds, but for the love of Dracaty, could you re-work it so it no longer looks like a filthy handkerchief? I realize the art department is overloaded these days and this isn't a priority but I feel I'm not alone in thinking that is one ugly looking cloak.

    pay attention to this section.
I can even make a guide on "how to finish the event progress in one run" XD

it's too difficult man, they have to actually think when making items, since their brain power is limited, they have to make everything the same, can't have diversity man,it's evil,
    it's against the commandment

Thou shalt not ask for more diversity of equipment!

I've made about 10 runs (couple hours each night Tue/Wed/Thur), most of the way through the progress, and not once have I seen one of those dang triple worms drop progress.

And if the worms don't drop progress for a toon, then no way to finish in one run.

But that is ok. This year I'm all about the cores. I've gotten about 76 so far. :) I expect I'll collect enough progress during the entire event to do the the main progress 4-5 times.

And unfortunate for my progress, I'm sitting in a hotel room with a dismal download speed and the whole 1388.5 (1400+ total) wanting to download to my laptop that I updated already last week. :(
